  • Damn just bought Office for Mac the other week. Oh well.

  • Let's see… Does this -require- a Student to register it?

Or… does the "Home" part of its product name imply that
it's available to -all- would-be users, to use at Home…? :-/

PS The price (which INCLUDES shipping) is $20 -under- MSY's price,
. & you'd have to add fuel & time to drive to MSY to compare deals.

    • No, you don't need to be a -student- to buy it. -Home and Student- is just a name they use to let people -know- that is what most students would -need-.

  • wow, office 2011?

    • -1

Maybe for Mac ('been around quite a while)…

I think it's named for its Psychological effect,
eg, to make Apple owners that tney're "ahead"
      of PC owners.

I doubt you get much more value, if any, in 2011.

Anyone care to quibble over my position on this? :-)

  • Oh, there's NO free S+H on at least ONE other "discounted" item listed, below tbe MS Office H & S deal, on this company's web page.

I'm asking them if I can get that one shipped, -with- my Office H & S, free.

Dunno what their reply will be, yet.

PS They have a nice neat web app, but it lists Excl-GST pricing, until you ask for a look at yout Cart contents… only then do you see Incl-GST item costs.

    Odd…

  • University Mac version for $99 at DickSmith

    • University Version requires a .edu.au email address for registration.

  • if you don't actually need the ms product.. don't forget the free office suite: openoffice.org and the offshoot 'libre office' is excellent

  • My daughter has just told us that they are using Powerpoint at school and she needs it too.
Is there a cheaper alternative that is compatible or do we need to actually get Powerpoint?
Sorry, I obviously have no idea about this stuff.
    Thanks!

    • If she uses just the PowerPoint, then there is an option "Microsoft PowerPoint 2010" available online for around $60 (1 User Licence) on EBay.

Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student comes with 4 software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote; and you can install it on 3 different desktops or Laptops.

There are several office software available on internet for free like "Open Office" but only thing is that they have different file extension ".odp" which will open in its own software. Your daughter can ask her teacher if they can use open office.

  • Microsoft got a new logo this morning!!!

  • I bought a one user Mac Home & Business licence for AUD$40 from this eBayer during the week. They've been selling them since March 2011, so if it was dodgy, I would have expected eBay to shut the account down by now.

Either way, if it ends up being non-legit, then I'll basically provide my buyer receipt and let eBay deal with the MS lawyers.
