Fantastic price, well worth the buy for anyone considering

This vs Bose QC45 at TGG for ~same price after cash back?

    • +1

      Bose for sure

      • Why

        • -2

Had nothing but problems with Sony. Had to send for warranty - repair still not satisfied. General reviews also bad

      • have been watching heaps of reviews for both. I wear glasses so usually I just use airpods. But I'll have a long trip next month so I think it's time for a pair of these. What I gathered so far is that the bose qc45 have the most comfort

      • however the sony mx4 was ozbargain's favourite

        • +1

I've got the XM5s and I find them much more comfortable than the QC45s

          • @kbargainz: interesting. I tried my friend's xm5 and it was just ok. got hot after a while. not much better than my jabra 85h. not very comfortable

            • +1

@tienanbich: I do have xm4 and me ears become hot after use, not sure about qc45

Bose sounds better but also, the earpads wear down quite fast and the ANC causes pressure in my ears.

Sony sounds more bassy and unclear but the ANC is more comfortable. The performance of both is similar in that regard. Earpads are also much more durable if that matters to you

So weird you say that.. I literally feel like I’m deaf right now & my ears are soo blocked after wearing my Bose today for around 30 mins

Im not sure what happened but I’ve never experienced this before smh

        • Yes, their aggressive noise cancelling algorithm causes some cabin pressure feeling on the ears.

    • Can you share the TGG deal. Its showing 349 for me.

      • the deal is over. there was 10% off last night, plus 15% cashback with shopback

Bought 2 from the last lot of these, both looked new and work fine.

    • Package was open?

      • Sealed for me, now I think about it though the ones I got might have been "seconds" not refurb.. sorry! I can't see the deal in OB anymore even thought it was only a month or two ago.

  • Does anyone have feedback on how the cups and headband material holds up long term? Have a pair of the original MDR1000X and the leatherette material started to crack quite quickly from not a lot of usage.

Have had a pair for 18-24 months and seem fine, you can buy replacement cups for pretty cheap

Thanks. Will give these a go. Have had enough of my QC45's.

    • Any issues with qc45? Heard those are more comfortable to use for longer period.

I pretty much can’t use them for phone calls. Lie down, move the wrong way, hold your left hand wrong and the microphone loses its marbles. No firmware updates to fix the issues, Bose has lost their way. QC35ii was perfect, for the price and functionality the QC45’s are worth about $200. In terms of comfort no one can tell you what you will prefer, the only way you’ll know is by using them or trying them out in store.

  • Is it normal to feel ears hot after using for some time?

  • +1

What does it mean by refurbished? Used?

    • It is said in the pictures that:

      "Manufacturer refurbished" or
"seconds" product, may have cosmetic marks/scratches, damaged packing, and have minor, non-essential accessories missing.
The product has been checked by Sony technicians and assessed as in working order.

Doesn’t seem like they replace components such as the battery but simply check if it is in working condition

Thanks for sharing! Been waiting a long time for the right deal to come up to snag a pair 🙂

Combine the best bits of these and the XM5's and you have my money

  • meh would rather buy Bose QC45's brand new for 50 bucks more. Brand new.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - I've been waiting for this. Damn you bargain sharks hahaha

I wouldn’t buy used headphones. It’s like buying used underwear. No thanks

    • not quite the same, not everyone wears their Sony noise cancelling headphones down there

      but I get your point

recently wore these on a long plane trip (17h or so including stopover) and never took them off, still had 30% battery on them left over once i got to the hotel. was hot for like the first hour then i forgot about it and it was very comfortable for the rest of the trip. noise cancelling is great, really easy to get a good seal, only the touchpad is annoying when sometimes im just adjusting it a little and it goes to pass through or skips a track. otherwise i enjoyed them immensely till my wife stole them and wont give them back now.
