"I disagree. It's a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever."

      • +5

        DONKEY KONG SUCKS!

        • +13

          You know something YOU SUCK!

          • +1

@Salzberger: Of all the times I have played Donkey Kong (even when it was in the arcade when as a kid), I don't think I have ever managed to make it to the top once, seems like I suck at that game.

            • @fredk1000: I grew up with it on the ColecoVision. Of all the Coleco and Atari games we had I think that was the one I played the most. I'm no expert but I'm handy at it. Can usually finish each level (there are only 3) about 2-3 times before dying.

  • What's the sale OP?

    • +1

There's 12 games in it, so play each game at least 59 times and it repays itself, or 30 games with 2 players on each game.

      • No Dig Dug.

        Hodl.

Goro and Kintaro were some of the coolest looking bosses. Kintaro is my favourite though, so is MK2.

    • +2

MK2 is he best MK game ever.

    • +2

Not on MegaDrive though; well, not single player.

They messed up; it was literally an "IF this THEN that" program; and after the first 3 or so levels, the computer counters everything.

Unless you combine long animation forward moving moves with holding back on the dpad; then it wouldnt know what to do, and would impact.

Its why leg sweeps and jumping kicks (holding backward) was the only way to beat it.

IIRC other release platforms didnt have this mistake, there was a slight randomiser left in.

      • I have it in my Megadrive so will test this out.

      • leg sweeps

oh damn i do remember resorting to leg sweeps heaps over trying to actually do a combo/special move

The best is yet to come, in 20 more years it'll be completely commonplace to see 60-70yos playing games, can't wait

      • +10

My dad is in his 70s and still plays games, granted he's had an addiction to C&C: Red Alert for a good few decades now.

If my retirement isn't spend hooked up to a great VR headset, a high end rig and an IV drip of KFC and whisky I'm going to be severely disappointed though.

        • +1

he's got great taste. i still play it all the time too

        • +1

My old man about to turn 70 is still playing yuris revenge and has been for years.

        • Dad is 65 and still plays all the far crys. He keeps going back and designing his own maps lol.

        • +1

Get into Pc Em its bloody amazing.

Bro, nursing homes are gonna be lit in 2040! Think Cartman from "Make Love, Not Warcraft".

      • +3

I have a pact with a close uni friend of mine where we have to get into the same nursing home for ease of couch console gaming.

      • +2

I used to swap gameboy games with my gran when I was late teens/early 20s. She was a Zelda fan
        .

        • +1

Aww. You made me miss my gran.

Alright. Will someone stop cutting onions.

See the older releases cheaper on gumtree etc $150, averaging to $300. probably want their space back.

  • +2

Take one of these bad boys and then shove a DE-10 nano running mister into it…

These aren’t full size cabinets. Not only are they shorter, but they’re much more narrow.

  • Test your might!….

If you're going to get something like this you may as well get the classic pac man - https://www.bigw.com.au/product/pac-man-12-in-1-arcade-machi…

12 in 1 games (PAC-MAN, PAC-LAND, PAC-MAN PLUS, SUPER PAC-MAN, PAC & PAL, PAC-MAINA, GALAXIAN, GALAGA, DIG DUG, DIG DUG II, MAPPY and ROMPERS)

    • +1

But then you only get 2 buttons and a joystick.

If you get the mk or sf one you get more buttons. Better if you want to say install an arcade board later.
