  • price in the title would be great $299.00 plus postage

  • Tell us the price, son!

Bah. I should refresh more often…

i'm looking for one at the moment but at $299 + postage not really a deal to me because shopping express got it at the same price too… http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/hp-proliant-n40l-micro…

edit: price int the title please

    • Would it be a good deal if one picks it up from their store?

EDit: From the comments, I guess not.

    • The N40L was on sale from ShippingExpress in April for as low as $209 + shipping, so where is the bargain here?

Computer prices should go down in price, not up! No good telling us it is available, tell us it is on sale at a bargain price.

I bought for $199 a year ago. This is overpriced.

      Isnt that the HP36L?

  • Also, $34 postage to Sydney, 1.5% surcharge if paying via Paypal (extra ~$5)

Would be better off getting one of these from eBay for $310, free shipping and no PayPal surcharge:

1.5% surcharge if paying via Paypal (extra ~$5)

That is a clear breach of the Paypal trading account terms and conditions.

      • Gasp, no. They should get rid of the ability to pay via paypal then. Then they'll be within the T&C.

  • Just to highlight, there have been a spate of deals on this server in the UK recently, only there the best price has been £103 ($157) after cash back. I assume they are looking to clear stock prior to a new model being launched soon.

Frankly, I wouldn't be considering it a deal unless the price drops to <$200, not with the potential for a new one in the offing and this price being pretty much full price.

    • I agree, I wouldn't recommend people pay more than about $250 for these (I paid $190 about a year ago for mine). However the going rate in Australia is mid $300's to $400's (some even in the $500's!) So it is around the cheapest in Australia currently, but not necessarily a bargain….

    • Any suggestions on places that will ship it to Aus at that price? Surely even with the priciest shipping the total should be well under this deal

      • Here, check them for yourself. HP are doing £100 cashback in the UK, and have been for about the past two years - the closing date keeps being extended.

        • You need to be a UK resident for that deal though. Is ok if you have relatives there - get it delivered to them and they on-post it to you. Get them to claim the cashback and then transfer you the money as well. Needs to be someone you trust. If you can't get the cashback, it's still cheaper to buy in Australia.

        • You would have to pay the VAT on it then though.. win some.. lose some. PLUS shipping from the UK is not so cheap when you go to the post office and do it, you dont get those cheapo prices the likes of Amazon etc. get. It would be better to have it delivered straight to Oz and then have UK relatives do the cashback. If you were going to do that… which most probably nobody is…

You never know there might be a good local deal in the comings weeks/months…

    The price is now $399.

Wasn't even really a bargain at $299 given www.shoppingexpress.com.au has it for this price (and still does), but most definitely not a bargain at $399.

    • It's a shame because I am actually looking to buy a second one to turn it into a HTPC for the olds.

At the $299 price point, can anyone suggest a better alternative?

      • megabuy has had at that price all the times.

        • Used to be that price, but they've increased it to $350 (+$15.95 postage to Sydney)

      • Well, if you don't need fancy extras like a case, wall wart etc. you can get a Raspberry Pi for $38. It can playback 1080p. The main flaw of the RPi as an HTPC was lack of older codecs, which seems to now have been resolved.

    • Any news on a deal?

wtf, crap. crap. crap. Scorptec is being a bing lee.

~$230 is a good deal. This is average at best

  • It will only be a deal when it gets closer to what previous deals where. Otherwise everyone will just compare to those deals.

  • Same add other comments, used to be much cheaper, not a bargain.
