Their pork buns and siu mai are pretty foul

Not really they're actually my favourites. The Chive dumplings and Dim Sims are no good

The pork buns: filling tastes decent and the bun pastry is alright BUT the gelatin/oil in the bbq sauce is weird. I'm not sure what they did to it, I think they added too much of it to the point where it sticks to your teeth for an hour afterwards. Or maybe it's the preservatives idk

Its not god awful but the buns are unusually sweet and the Siu Mai are unusually salty.

    • These were ok during lockdown and depending on which was cheapest.
      I prefer King of Kings

Their stuff is horrible. Would def avoid

If your local store stocks Sun Circle pork and chive dumplings, those are cheaper ($12.50/kg) even when the Hong Kong Dim Sim Kitchen packs are on sale ($13.33/kg). The Sun Circle dumplings also have twice as much meat (40% vs 21%) and taste better.

(Of course, if you have Asian grocers nearby, it's generally worth checking those out: wider assortment, often at better prices.)

The Hong Kong Dim Sim Kitchen prawn dumplings are – by a considerable distance – the worst dumplings I have ever purchased.

It's Ho Mai Entertainment Pack 1kg or it's nothing

  • Very authentic. they taste the way a Hong Kong backstreet smells. ..🫢. . !!

Especially as you walk past the sewer grates on HK island :)

  • These are almost at half price everytime when I check, either Coles or Woolworths, one of them. But I do buy them easy cook and taste quite good

  • How do you cook these? Air fryer?

    • +1

Steamed or boiled (or in soup)

These are decent at half price and I actually rate their Siu Mai. I typically microwave them as a quick snack and add some soy and chilli.

Admittedly their batches can be a bit hit or miss sometimes, particularly with the Dim Sims.

  • $4 for 300g. Was $8 ??? rip off…

  • the "dim sims" flavour are too salty and not as enjoyable as it could be

  • showing 8 bucks for me

    • Coles has it for $4 now
