Showing $1988 for me for the 86" model?

You missed the part where you need to prove you are a First Responder, to get this price.

But they did respond to this post first?

        • +2

In that case they may walk into their nearest JB hi-fi with a screenshot of this thread.

      • How are you to order online and prove you are a first responder?

        • +2

In-store only as the store will need to establish the buyer is a first responder.

The title is an eye sore

    • +1

Sorry, I cannot put that much in the title.

    • I read it so many times and still don't get it lol

      • Edited it. Hopefully clearer now.

        • thanks, the numbers were denying my brain

Might be time to sign up

  • sorry, what is "first responders"?

If you need to ask it's safe to say you're not one

The first person to make fun of jv with a bold reply gets a first responders badge.

      • My wife is a nurse so I guess she is a First Responder as well…

        • -1

I 100% respect the work of nurses, but I don't generally think most nurses would technically classify as first responders.
However, I also think these first responder deals are not being run at a loss, and I'm sure they will gladly take your/her money :)

          • -2

@youknow: So if you're on the ward and you have a cardiac arrest, who do you think will respond first?

            • +1

@SpicyPeanut: @SpicyPeanut, there was no disrespect intended. I thought I made that fairly clear. I highly respect the work nurses do. I think they are generally underappreciated and underpaid for the incredibly valuable role they play in society.
However, If you google the definition of first responder, it generally would not include nurses. As it turns out, for the purposes of this promotion, it includes "medical and healthcare workers", and I'm very happy for them.
Your example "So if you're on the ward and you have a cardiac arrest, who do you think will respond first?" is not overly helpful. By that logic, I could say "So, if your child is choking on their lunch at school, who do you think will respond first?" (to which do we also include teachers as first responders). Again, another profession for which I have massive respect for, but that doesn't mean it automatically classifies as "first responder". You could apply this same logic to a range of situations and environments that could pretty much classify anyone who administers first aid, or helps someone in distress as a "first responder", which would completely dilute the meaning of the term.

              • @youknow: I agree there's no disrespect but the comment and the comparison are not fair. I am a doctor and can assure you that the nurses are mostly the first responders to any emergency in the hospital. If the nurse doesn't identify the emergency and alert us we wont even know that we need to respond. This is a daily occurrence and the main job for the nurses which is different to a teacher who could have an emergency situation on rare occasions.

            @youknow: ER nurses?

      • +1

        Are all lifesavers eligible?

    • +1

Those who respond first to a good deal? 😆

    • +5

Think anyone working in emergency services, police, ambos, firies, SES

      • -1

This is what it should be. First responders facing unknown dangers and putting themselves at risk to save others.

I respect nurses a great deal, but they are not first responders. ER yes… general wardspeople, no.

      Bartenders

    • An American term that has now found its way to Australia. We always used to call them "Emergency Services".

Does working for a bank count as first responder?

    • +2

I tried to think of a witty reply like thirst responder but that was so witty, nothing could compete. Pretty upset.. guess they makes me the first despondent.. thanks, I'll show myself out.

Be aware this is one of the worst tvs you will see on the market atm. Even at maximum brightness it is dull and dim. Worse as you get larger. View in person before you buy.

  • +9

This is a BAD TV - I keep flogging a dead horse but I think people should be aware of the issues I had with this TV when I bought one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/715109

  • how about first aider to a company

  • My dad wanted a new TV to replace a dying Samsung 65" covered in backlight bleeding circles.

He didn't want to spend more than $1,200 so we grabbed this for the same price last week (using the JB perks coupon).

I wouldn't say it's a 'bad' TV. Feels sluggish to use and the brightness isn't great, but for him it's fine. He doesn't care, just wants a big screen to look at.

  • Looks like no more OLED deals before the EOFY?

  • +2

LG TVs are reputable for their OLED panels. While I cant comment on one in person. My recent home theatre research noted these TVs are terrible.

  • I bought the 75 inch tv last week with 15% discount for perks member and also bought the 5 % discount gift card from Bupa Life rewards program. Sot total cost $960

    • Whats your thoughts? I grabbed the 75, too.

      • +1

I liked the TV and the picture quality is really great

  • LG has the shittest customer service I've ever experienced. If something goes wrong you'll regret it.

    • my remote was faulty after several months, they sent me a new one via help chat… came within 3-5 business days. depends what your issue was

  • LG don't make good LCD TVs anymore. Expect shitty picture quality, reliability etc
