[First Responders] Extra 5% off Computers, 10% off Phones, 15% Other Departments (Exclusions Apply, In-Store Only) @ JB Hi-Fi

1160

Full credit to @happydude

Figured it would need its own deal post to raise awareness.

*This offer is only available to First Responders. First responders include medical and healthcare workers: nurses, doctors, paramedics and ambulance/paramedic staff, police personnel, firefighters, defence force personnel, border force personnel, SES, CFA, marine rescue teams, lifesavers, surgeons and hospital staff & quarantine workers. We ask that First Responders bring a Photo ID which shows their work identity. Alternatively, they can shop in their work uniform. Due to Australian Federal Police (AFP) policy, AFP Members will need to identify themselves using their association card or a digital/printed First Responders Day email from the Australian Federal Police Association (AFPA), rather than their AFP photo ID or police uniform.

Excludes DJI, Dyson, Apple, Gaming consoles, PlayStation VR2, subscriptions, Miele & Asko agency products, Pre-Paid Cards & Gift Cards, Pre-Orders, Extended Warranties, Installation & Delivery.

Pretty much the same as last year

Enjoy!

  • Both my inlaws qualify for this offer but never had a chance to get them to use it.

You lucky man, and thank-you to them for their service RIP 🪦

Damn, was going to dress up in my police costume

I would have thought being at the top of the deals page would have been visibility enough. Seems that you need the internet points more than me so that's alright.

    • @happydude is it alright if I make a post for Costco since it's not on title? Just because it needs a post of it's own. (Joking 😃)

    Excludes… anything good

    • +1

      Excludes very little actually.

Excludes DJI, Dyson, Apple, Gaming consoles, PlayStation VR2, subscriptions, Miele & Asko agency products, Pre-Paid Cards & Gift Cards, Pre-Orders, Extended Warranties, Installation & Delivery.

Damn, I'm the 144th person to click on this, no deal for me then.

    • Lol nice one!

  • Can you use Tcn gift card as payment method?

  • Are TVs excluded? Same as the perks deal on the weekend but no limitation on screen size?

  • Ahhhh "Thursday the 30th of June"… Good luck with that!

  • Could I firstly price match the other store and then apply the discount?

    • +1

I've asked online chat and they stated that the discount is only on top of the advertised price…

I have always found this day quite contentious as someone who has worked as a support worker in aged care and disability. The guidelines seem to always neglect to mention those roles even though this day emerged because of covid and support workers are often the workers on the frontline delivering within arms reach care to unwell participants. Fortunately JB HiFi is accommodating to this fact but technically they don’t have to.

      doctors… surgeons

People working in the medical profession again topped the list as the highest earners, with surgeons earning an average of more than $457,000 in 2020-21 1

Can't you see this deal is only for the frontline heroes that are truly in need?!

  • +15

It should be 25% off site wide for them just for the amount of abuse they cop.

  • Would it apply on top of the advertised sale/special price?

    Second responders lose out again…

      Second responders lose out again…

It includes anyone with an ID (ie second, third and even non-responders). I have friend working for the Police in IT, she has zero to do with any sort of responding or operational matters but the ID gets her all the same deals.

  • +1

Anyone know if this applies for aged care?

    • +1

Aged care isn't quite first on the hierarchy of medical response.

      • Title is nursing affiliated

      • And on that note, neither are police or the very general "hospital staff" titles

  • +5

As someone who qualifies for this deal, I think it's ridiculous and shouldn't be a thing. Either make the special apply to everybody or nobody.

    • +4

It’s the same as a Targeted deal. Should we stop all those too?

  • Are we sure this is valid in 2023?

Link says Thursday 30th June, but the 30th of June is a Friday this year.

  • The exact date is Thurs 29 Jun for 2023. First responder's day is last Thurs of June.

    https://www.retail.org.au/firstrespondersday

  • Present your First Responders ID instore on Thursday 30th June for an extra

    Thursday is the 29th?

  • Does anyone know what the costco coupons are. Couldn't work it out

  • +1

Does anyone know if you can pricematch and then get the discount on the new price?

  • +1

Excludes: The store itself, and the warehouse, and everything associated with jbhifi.

  • I assume this includes headphones? Hoping I can price match and use discounts as well! Ill probably try my luck tomorrow

    • No only applies to JB Hi-fi units

  • +1

just went to JB Hifi today and purchased the 256GB S23 Plus for $859.10 on the $49 one month minimum plan. Will be cancelling the contract later today.

So total cost for the phone and Samsung watch will be just $908.10

    • don't you have to pay the cancelling penality of around $400 or something?

  • No this $49 is a monthly contract. If you take other deals where you get a $1100 gift card then there is a cancelling penalty. Those are clearly specified as 24 months contract but you can still get out by paying a reduce amount call the Voucher Repaymen Fee. You need to ask at the store how much the fee is as they don't advertise this amount.
