EOFY Special Ending Soon or While Stock Lasts!

Does EOFY accounting work that way? Hasn't FY already E-ed?

    • 🤷‍♂️ I just bought one for $484

    • Hasn't FY already E-ed?

      O…

      • -8

Need to make it look like a deal somehow. 90% of posts on this page has the OP attempting to polish turds with similar remarks

        • +3

Can you find a cheaper 6700XT, or a better GPU for this price?

          • -2

@Grish: Of course I can. The $350 6600xt was actually better $/fps than this deal ("cough" current msrp) and many other cards have been similar. Even the $390 XFX/pulse 6600xt which were widely available competed with this.. and that was 12 months ago! There have been some RTX 6800 and 3070/3060ti that have been similar $/fps wise.

This should be more like $380 at this current point in time or to be even considered a deal. I certainly wouldn't buy it and I did buy the $350 6600xt 12 months back. It's a shit deal. Also arguing this is "7 sand and not 6 sand" is a suckers mentality (or just another polishing attempt).

            • @Jimmy77: Have a whinge. Stop focussing on RRP and look at performance. 6600XT might be great value, but the 6700XT offers the right performance, the performance that people will actually need, at a good price point right now.

        • +2

Jeez. Chill. You do understand that the indented text is a quote? Wasn't trying to polish anything. Just an attempt at indicating that I'm not aware of an expiry.

          • +12

@mookieconster: I see you've just met my man Jimmy here! Owing to some unresolved trauma, he's determined to shit on every single GPU post. Most of us are also offended by GPU prices, but Jimmy here is special.

While the rest of us look forward to the day GPU prices fall, I'm worried that Jimmy might fall into a catatonic state, completely empty of purpose.

Enjoy your 6700xt. May your road lead you to warm sands.

yes depends on the company they can elect to have their EOFY in March, June, Sep or Dec

      • -1

        oh wow, TIL.

So they may not have EOFY yet, but joined in on this sale anyway just because, right?

  • hdmi 2.1?

  • +3

    Looks like SOFY.
    Start of financial year.

    Skrrrtt.

  • +3

Meh the only time this would've been considered a deal would've been at launch. Should've been $500-$530 based on launch msrp (which was already overpriced). 2.5 years later a $50 price drop is a kick in the teeth. Clearing old stock at essentially launch msrp prices retailers are still laughing, and it's an eagle (I'd rather the reference model).

    • +4

People are upvoting a 7600 for 399, why not this? ;)

      • +6

        Those aren't people

      • +1

Amen mate the world's gone bananas. There's $340 6650XT's posted on the same page :S It makes absolutely zero sense

        • +1

The 6700XT is the only way to go for actual value. I paid $480 for mine and paired it with a 5800X3D. Been a dream at 1440p. Eagle is fine - 3 quiet fans, good temps, not sure what your issue is with a non-reference model. This isn't a freakin' 1080Ti, or a A770 where the reference model has some collectibility.

    • +1

It's fine tbh. Maybe it should be cheaper but even in America on Newegg the average cost is $330 which matches this price, once you do the conversion.

  • +4

I would like to see 6800 XT around $500 please :-)

    • +1

2nd hand maybe, but I doubt it new. I think stocks are low enough at this point and the next gen is not much better (except for much more expensive 7900xt/x). they have no real incentive drop prices that much.

  • Paid $599 for this exact card in November 2023.

    • +23

Damn the future isn't looking great for GPUs

      • +2

Remember when the 4090 was release for literally three thousand dollars, and there were a bunch of guys posting $2900 "bargains" and saying "get used to it, this is just what GPUs cost now, they'll never be cheaper than this again, it's the new normal"?

We all assumed they were idiots, desperately trying to justify their unjustifiable purchase decision… but maybe a second GPU price crisis is coming and they were just time travelers from the future! 😱

        • In 2025, the 5070 Ti giving 4090 performance will be AU$2000

5080 will be AU$2800 and the 5090 will be $3500

  • $510 delivered with eBay Plus but still meh of a deal

Does gigabyte own ozb? Don't cards come in more flavours!? What happen to the likes of, Asus, MSI, Power Color, Sapphire, XFX? Just went back through 10 pages of search for 6700xt and gigabyte takes the crown..

    • Gigabyte GPU quality seems reduced a bit lately from what I hear online, maybe they are struggling to move units and have to discount?

Like those PSU bargains and ASUS bargains right after the exploding PSU and the fried motherboards.

      • The card in this deal is fine. No coil whine. Great temps. Having no issues with it at all.

    • +1

The Gigabyte 6700xt I picked up 3 weeks ago from a deal posted here on OzB promptly died. Thankfully it was within 30 days return period, so returned for a full refund.

I had the "no signal out issue" which i googled and found was very common.

Anyways, while researching online about Gigabyte card issues, i came across these articles.

      https://www.tomshardware.com/news/gigabyte-gpu-design-detail…

      https://www.tomshardware.com/news/gigabyte-rtx-30-rtx-40-ser…

Might be why they are being pushed out the door ?

      • +1

So far the PCB cracks have been relegated to 30/40 RTX series cards because of physical design of the board and the particular cutout shape. No reports of AMD GPUs suffering that fate as far as I'm aware.

        • Yes. No issues with Gigabyte 6700XT cards.

    • +1

Dual fan ASUS available for $5 more

Gigabyte and ASUS have the biggest stockpiles of Navi 22 and are the only AIB's sending new cards to Australia

AMD currently in rundown mode with 6650 XT and 6700 non XT already cleared

PCCG have cleared 200+ 6800 and 6800 XT cards in the last month after being the only retailer to receive new stock from PowerColor

Once the 7600 and 7900 remain as the only cards generally available, only then will AMD "surprise" launch the 7800

    Graphene nano lubricant

What's this for? Does lubing the transistors make them switch faster enabling higher clock speeds?

    • +1

If you aren't taking the piss: it's fan bearing lubricant.

  • Is this gud enough for 1440p & 144hz?

    • Depends on if you're playing Minecraft or Cyberpunk RT overdrive.

      • Haha I want the flexibility… both :)
But I probably wouldn't use RT / absolutely max out Quality. Just as long as it's high and don't look like potato

        • This card is fantastic at 1440p with 144hz. Obviously forget that RT trash unless you're going actual $1500-2k cards. But for pure performance… this card is great.

    • +1

I have this card and a R5 3600 CPU (causes a very small bottleneck with this GPU).

I usually get around 80-110 FPS on 1440p Ultra on Warzone 2, Squad, Hell let Loose, Tarkov.

      • +1

I get over 200FPS @ 1440p in War Thunder, with this card paired with a 5800X3D. I had a 3600 prior to this. Don't underestimate how much difference the CPU can make. Upgrade your 3600 next time the 5800X3D is on Ozbargain. Well worth it.

    • Get around 100FPS on Halo Infinite at 1440 at medium-high graphical settings (I'm approximating as I'm using custom graphical settings and not a preset) paired with an i5 8400

  • +2

I would not buy Gigabyte products, they have to save costs used cheaper pcbs that end up cracking and they don't RMA for it from what I read. Anyway Nvidia 4xxx card would be better than AMD, has more features, more efficient but upfront cost is higher.

    • +1

Not on this card. I have this card and have used a variety of Gigabyte cards and there is no issue. Why even come comment if you're going to talk rubbish about 4xxx cards being better at this price point? News flash, they're not. Unless you want a POS overpriced 8GB card. At this price-point, the 6700XT is hard to beat. And for its target resolution - 1440p, it is fantastic. Well recommended. Don't give Nvidia your money.

      • -1

I bought a 4070 two weeks ago from scorpiotech for $899. 4xxx series have the lowest nm process than anyother cards on the market. They are the best, if you want to buy an amd or older card, you may as well put a toaster in your pc.

  • Those that have the Gigabyte Eagle version any noticeable coil whine or overheating ?

  • Any suggestion on good mobo forR5 3600 with this gpu ?
