Team yellow FTW. Dual voltage makes it much easier to mix generations of batteries and tools.

(However, I did have to buy into blue for a decent 40v plunge saw!)

    • Makita's 18v x 2 track saw is :mwah:

  • How much it costs for a battery and a charger?

    • RRP on XGT batteries is about $250 for a 4Ah. Single charger about $200 RRP. Not sure of how often deals come up though, as I'm an 18v user.

      • Makita are terrible for deals. They occasionally have good redemption offers but it feels like they only make sense to customers who are new to makita.

I love my makita 18v and 36v (2x18x) tools (mower, drill, driver, circular saw, powerhead e.t.c.) but I hit a wall justifying the exorbitant price of some of their tools. Just not worth it for domestic use.

  • My Hitachi gear is finally dying. This seems like a good deal.

Does it come with a macpac?

    • Does it come with a macpac?

This frustrates me a lot. It's never obvious what Makita tools come with a macpac.

  • Does this have the auto kick back stops?

  • Does it run off 18v batteries as well?

    • No it doesn't.
