Would this work as a overhead item on planes? Thinking of doing a bit of backpacking

    • They may make you check it in due to the size.

      • I have a Vaude 32+5 backpack so 37l which I use for overseas travel often as a carry on. 40l should be ok but as no dimensions are listed it and it does seem a little tall/thin not sure..

    • I was thinking the same thing. 40 litre is good for travel with carry-on only.
I've never had my pack measured. If they did, and it is a bit tall, you can pull the straps to make it shorter.
Will easily fit in overhead. Or under the seat in front, if not stuffed full.

    • check the height thats usually the thing, even my smaller packs are just slightly too tall

  • Got this 5 years ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/321259

Backpacked all over SEA countries and never looked back, one of the best purchases from Ozbargain.

Looking forward to going to Europe with it this year and I won't carry check-in bags.

Does anyone else travel only with one backpack over a month's trip or it's only me?

ditto , traveled 1 month in Europe with only a backpack recently and it was a tad hard but in the end best decision ever. Saved on crazy baggage fees , with Paris metro system you end up transferring between stations alot ,walking and going up and down so so so many stairs it was nuts . There really isn't any lifts so having a backpack worked it well
