  • Curious how quickly people have received their gift cards in the past with this deal?

    • Hey JuryWheel, eligible Recipients will receive a Woolworths Store Bonus eGift Card by email up to 90-120 days after successfully switching their energy.

      • However the gift cards have 3 months expiry, so if it gets lost in transition, by the time you enquire and they get back to you, it might be already expired.

        • yeah sounds like a scam

          • @GeoK: It isnt!
In last 2 years, received all my many Econnex electricity Deal gift cards no problem.

          • @GeoK: I have switched two time in the past 2 years, and have received it always no problem, not a scam.

            • -1

              @Shiva24488: Others never recieved.

Seems like they send a % of GCs out and the other % hope they forget and never follow up

        • +1

by the time you enquire and they get back to you, it might be already expired.

3 months to get a response???
          YeaNah…

Tell us another of your stories, deals4amar😜

Sent PM to rep. Received response in minutes:

Mon, 26/06/2023 - 16:12 waiting on gift card
          Mon, 26/06/2023 - 16:17 Manyo replied

Couldn't find gift card email. Was my fault - searched emails for Econnex, instead of Woolworths gift card! Had arrived 6 days earlier! Solved VERY quickly.

Others have complained didn't receive email - one found it in Bin!

Received many gift cards from Econnex electricity Deals.

All arrived in email from Woolies just over 90 days.
Never had a problem. Just have to check Woolies (not Econnex) emails.

Not hard to spend Woolies gift card within 90 days! Expiry date is in link in email.

Spent the last of my $100 Woolies gift card (received 20/6) today💰

      • I haven't received mine, I switched my internet to More telecom through ecconex and over 3 months now.

        • Hey koolchamp81, kindly share your reference number in order to track your application.

    • +2

      Some did, some didnt.
But the consensus is that the majority didnt unless they followed up weeks or months post promised date as per comments from previous posts.
And if they didnt, the usual excuse is they didnt follow T&C even though the ozbargainers claim they followed the steps required.

Also privacy policy is very vague and your data (DL/passport/medicare/credit card details) likely stored on overseas servers as they have offices in india and phillipines / more than 60% off employees are offshore when googling the company, so YMMV with the security of your data.

      • This sounds so similar to AGL Westpac offer. You won't get it if you don't follow it up. Once you follow it up it take ages for them to investigate which you also need to follow up. Eventually they will tell you don't qualify even though AGL Solution team checked everything and confirmed that you qualify.

        • -1

          Energy ombudsman?

          • @easternculture: Well, will transfer to another provider first. Not counting on getting it but AGL's system is just shocking with all sort of problems.

      • I received mine without following up. But I didn't receive an email telling me it had been approved etc, it was just a random one that popped into my inbox

      • -1

But the consensus is that the majority didnt unless they followed up weeks or months post promised date as per comments from previous posts.

        consensus… Not true.

Those who received their Econnex electricity switch Deal gift cards in Woolies emails - are happy to spend it & move on.

So how can you make such a claim of "consensus"??

Some respond to the unwarranted criticism, like yours - confirming they received the gift cards.

They have nothing to keep complaining about in Deal after Deal…

Unlike some who never even signed up but just want to complain… that others have complained!!

Few of those who click on these electricity Deals, have complained about not receiving the gift cards.

But those few who complain & Neg often in future Deals. They seem to want to complain, rather than resolve the issue!

Those duplicate complaints over many Deals… skews your "consensus" towards every one is unhappy & didn't receive their gift cards!!

Some expect the cards without having to wait 90+ days, didn't check their emails / Bin, etc. And complain they haven't received the gift cards!

Gift card is in email sent by Woolworths, not Econnex. Even as an experienced Econnex Deal user, I couldn't find the email last month!
Sent a PM & resolved in minutes!

Often they complain about other types of Econnex Deals in the electricity Deals! Those are different Deals, with different conditions & ID requirements. But they complain about those in Deals where the complaint is not even relevant🤔

Best resolved with PM to rep ASAP aver email is due. (Set a reminder for 90d after switching!)
Answered my PM in 5 min last month.

You missed out on an attractive $150 Econnex Deal you wanted this year & have been complaining since.
You signed up late & missed out - get over it! I signed up hours earlier & received the $150 gift cards💰

When I've pointed out that in your first complaint - you've falsely accused me of being associated. No nice!😜

I have received all gift cards from these Deals for over 2 years. Its been great - So I am happy with Econnex electricity Deals👍

      • your data (DL/passport/medicare/credit card details) likely stored on overseas servers

A usual complaint of other types of Econnex Deals….

But those details are NOT required for these electricity switch Deal!

The energy retailers are in Australia.
You provide the same information to Econnex as signing up directly with those retailers. But would miss out on these inducements to switch.

        Name
        Address
        email
        Phone number

(So no DL/passport/medicare/credit card details as you claim in this Deal!)
[If you had signed up (instead of missing) the earlier $150 electricity switch Deal - you would know that!]

Econnex need to provide that new customer information to the new retailer.

That's how they make their money to pay for the gift cards & operate their business!
Like other cashback businesses. If they don't get paid - you don't get paid!*

if they didnt (qualify for gift cards), the usual excuse is they didnt follow T&C

Some on Ozbargain are so worried about security (from comments like yours) - they provide false information…

You can't enter into a legal contract with an electricity retailer to supply energy, based on false information!!

So that means the Deal conditions aren't met - not surprisingly there's no gift cards 90+d later😠

People very rarely admit they caused thr problem… It's always someone else's fault. And they keep complaining! Don't they😜

Actual name (as shown on energy bill) is required to AUTHORISE switch to a different retailer.

If your name isn't on the bill, or you don't have authority set up with the retailer to act for that person - no Deal!
Give a false name - no Deal!

It is to protect the person named on the bill, to stop fraudulently changing service providers!

Actual address (as shown on energy bill) is required to make a transfer of retailer. The address is associated with meter number. Nothing can proceed without that!
Energy can't be provided to a fictitious address!

email is required to send the contract & tariff details. Without that nothing can proceed, unless you arrange those legal documents to be sent by snailmail.

Phone number to contact you if needed.

All pretty standard information when entering into a contact to supply a service.
That's what you are doing in these Deals.

Get informed rather than spreading fear & misinformation!

It's the same contact information required to switch or sign up directly with an electricity retailer. (I've done that, with no incentive.)

I've commented before on the requirement for limited personal information in Econnex electricity Deals.

It's not scary as you claim!!

Time saving synopsis of commenters: SCAM.

    • Switched electricity & received confirmation email on 3/10
Received $100 Woolies gift cards on 20/6.
Never been a problem - use Econnex every few months.

  • Here we go again

  • Can you get cash back as well from shopback or topcashback?

    • Hey bargain4all, This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount.

  • Too late, moved to a 12month fixed rate one

  • If you take up this offer, but then switch to another energy/gas provider after 30 days, will you still receive the gift card after the 90-120 day timeframe?

    • +2

Hey FatGPT, yes you will receive the gift card after 90-120 days if you switch to another energy provider.

We highly recommend that switch your energy provider after you receive that month's bill to avoid any discrepancies.

Please note-In case the request for a switch or connection cannot be completed or a request is made for the cancellation within the first 30 days from the date of activation the transaction would be deemed invalid and you will not be eligible to receive a gift card.

  • Will I still receive the gift card if a new connection request is made for the end of the month when we move? Or does the connection have to occur prior to the 11th?

    • +1

Hey djtidau, yes you will be eligible for the gift card, if a new connection request is made for the end of the month when you move.

  • Gimmick. You choose a high tariff company and whatever you gain in gift card is offsetted. Red Energy is like a mafia run debt collecting agency.

    • So if you don't pay the bill Red Energy will have debt collector? So……. At least all their staff are located locally and not in call centre overseas who have no clue what they doing.. Last time I checked their rates was the cheapest available.

    • Not in my experience of switching electricity retailers every 2-3 month for 2 years.

The incentives effectively help pay most or all of my (minimal) electricity bills.

Switched through Econnex to Alinta, Ovo, & Powershop in just over last 6 months. Were quite competitive where I live, according to govt site. Certainly was cheaper when compares to some electricity retailers.

Spent the last of my $100 Woolies gift card (received 20/6) today💰

  • Red Energy is like a mafia run debt collecting agency.

Aptly named. It'll have you seeing red very soon! lol

    1. I've been in dispute for five months with Shopback about a rejected cashback for eConnex. Not directly relevant to this offer, but indicative of system problems and poor interaction.

    2. None of their listed offers for my area came close to the three best providers found using Vic Energy Compare, so don't assume this is a bargain.

    • I'm in the same boat. Econnex failed to approve the purchase so there's nothing shopback can do. Econnex told me they approved it, and Shopback told me they denied it. I believe Shopback. This is a scam and should be illegal.

      • This is a scam and should be illegal.

Oh wow. We have been warning you guys in every econnex deal regarding the legitimacy of these offers.

  • @Manyo, Just wanting to confirm that red energy is included as one of the approved provider for this promo? It is mentioned above Dodo and many more…

    • Hey verisimilitude, yes Red Energy is included, we have more than 10 retailers on the panel for you to choose from.

  • When did this offer start?

    • flashi007, the offer started today.

      • I switched via your website at 1am this morning. Am I too late to get this offer?

        • Unfortunately, you will not be eligible for this offer.

          • @Manyo: Cooling off period here I come

          • @Manyo: Is this compatible with Cashrewards?

            • @flashi007: flashi007, unfortunately, This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount.

  • Thanks again @Manyo. When you get a chance can you check ref: 1683143838

    Thanks heaps!

  • @Manyo
Hi Manyo, I had previously been a customer with Ovo about 12mths ago. Would I still get the $100 Winter Welcome Credit if I signed up?

    • +1

Hey kizashi, if you are not currently with Ovo Energy, yes you will be eligible to get the $100 welcome credit.

      • @Manyo
If sign up Ovo for electricity & AGL for gas do you get $200 woolworths gift card or only $100?
If sign up for gas AGL Value Saver on your site, do you also get the $75 sign up credit that is mentioned on the AGL website?

        • Yes, you will get a $200 gift card if you sign up with OVO and AGL (Applicable to New OVO Energy customers and existing and new AGL customers).

The AGL Value Saver $75 Credit offer does not apply to gas with us. If you would like to avail of this credit, please visit the AGL website.

  • $150 for electricity or no deal

  • Hey @manyo. I am currently with the old agl value saver. I can see on my agl login that I can change to the new value saver plan. The old value saver plan is higher than the new plan. Can I switch via econnex and be eligible for the $100 wow gc? I've been with the old plan for more than 30 days (signed up using econnex also)

  • Hey bargaingalor3, yes you may upgrade(change) your plan with AGL via Econnex and yes you will be eligible for $100 Wow gift card.

Please note, Eligible Recipients will receive a Woolworths Store Bonus eGift Card by email up to 90-120 days after successfully switching their energy.

  • Hi Manyo,

I am going to change from Alinta to Lumo, am I eligible to a $200 gift card?

    • +1

Hey enhengsoso, yes you will be eligible for the gift card, This offer is available for all transfer connections and move-in connections.

      • Thanks Manyo, my reference number is 1689500797, could you please track my application and advise roughly when I can receive the $200 gift card? Do I need to inform the old supplier (Alinta) about moving to Lumo? Have not changed for a while, almost forgot the process.

        • +1

Hey enhengsoso, your application has been successfully submitted to the retailer (Lumo Energy) and you will receive sms confirming the same, tracking is also correct, and you will receive your gift card in Oct 2023.

Further, No you do not need to inform the old supplier (Alinta) about moving to Lumo.

  • Happy camper. Last switched December 22, received VC automatically from woolies mar 23. Been waiting for this to come back again.

  • @Manyo, Just wanting to confirm that Globird is included as one of the approved provider for this promo?

    • Hey mate, hows your experience with globird? Trying to reach them on 13* number for days but no one picked phone?

      • my wife dealt with them back then and she had no issues at least not worse than others. that's why we are thinking of going back.

        • Ok., understand mate. For me, even enregymadeeasy showed globird as 1st economical option but its horrible experience so far. Couldn't managed to speak anyone on 133456.Only option is to sign up online but then I am worried incase of any issue, how to contact globird with no number to speak at? so I guess will skip them and choose another provider.

    • Hey ozproud, Unfortunately, Globird is not included as one of the approved providers for this promo.

  • Is there any way to tell I have signed up following this offer correctly? Through the whole process, including confirmation email, no mention of the Woolworths eGift Card except the first landing page.

    • Good excuse for them to say you didnt follow t&c

    • Hey tim_geo, Kindly share your reference number, in order to track your application.

      • Update: Rep confirmed via PM that I'm eligible by looking up reference number, and to expect eGift vouchers Oct 2023.

  • @ Manyo

Hey Manyo, decided to try your service yesterday, first time. I have switched both of our electricity and gas using Econnex yesterday. During the comparison I found AGL's gas plan is so confusing. The plan recommended by Econnex has the same plan name, Value Saver, as we currentlly have with AGL but rates are different, although not significantly. Meant to ask you here before signing up, but thought I might not get a reply quick enough. Besides I saw your reply to someone else who had the same concern about AGL's Value Saver plan that we would be eligible. I wish AGL can be bothered to name each of their plan in different name. Anyway, I made the switch yesterday afternoon. I will give you the reference numbers. Can you please check for me when do we expect to receive the giftcards as we will be away overseas in Sep, Oct and Nov.

    • Hey bbking18, we cross-checked your application and it is submitted successfully with the retailers, as per the terms and conditions, you will receive your gift card in Oct 2023.

Please note, the eGift card will be sent in mid of Oct and will expire in mid of Jan, as it has a 3-month expiry date, so they can be used after November as well.

      • Thanks Manyo for checking everything for us. Appreciate it.

I assume there would be no problems with Gas account transfer to AGL. Not concerned about electricity account transfer.

  • Any chance a new deal will be advertised soon or will there be a bit of a wait for another one?

    • Hey charmed_tiger6, We would be bringing new deals, but Unfortunately on the energy deal, there would be a little wait.

  • Hi @Manyo, any upcoming deal this August/September for Electricity and Gas?

    • Hey Marlco, we are bringing a new deal today (delayed due to some technical issue), As soon as the issue gets sorted we will make the deal live, Keep your eye out and thanks for your patience.
