Lenovo Yoga Pad Pro (13" 2K, 8GB/256GB, Snapdragon 870, Video In/Out) US$378 (~A$571.40) Delivered @ MeMall Store AliExpress

JUL40

Back on sale and cheaper than previous deals is this Android tablet that's quite different to others in that it has a micro HDMI port that allows you to use it as a portable monitor, as well as providing video out via USB-C. This is more suited for desk use as it has an adjustable kickstand

While originally released in 2021 it still holds itself well due to the flagship specs including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 CPU, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.0 storage and Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix HD. According to the Lenovo forums it started receiving the Android 13 update last month.

Other features include a 13" 2160x1350 LTPS display with 400nits brightness, 60Hz refresh rate & 100% sRGB Dolby Vision, 10200mAh battery with 30W Quick Charge, 4x JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 8MP Front Camera, 3 inbuilt mics, WiFi 6 ax, BT 5.2 and Stylus Support.

For reviews Techtablets has a comprehensive video. The main downsides are no GPS, 3.5mm jack or microSD slot.

Please ensure you choose the Chinese Firmware model. The "Global Firmware" has an unlocked bootloader with a stitched ROM resulting in no updates or Widevine L1 DRM.

    aliexpress..

    • That seems ridiculous value. Why isn't something like that posted on here as a deal? Are they always that cheap for the specs?

      • +3

Guaranteed scam, there's no way an SD 870 device is only ~$180, not to mention the dubious "Xioami" in the pic/lack of branding…

        • +1

Thought I was nuts there for a second, I agree!

        • Ohh, is it a scam? That makes this Lenovo deal make more sense, then!
          Thank you!

          • @Broos: Yep big time. Notice how the name makes no mention of a brand or model whatsoever.

2023 New Global Pad 6 Pro Tablet Android 12.0 Snapdragon 870 10000mAh 12GB 512GB 11inc Tablette PC 5G Dual SIM Card Or WIFI

Under the specs it says "For Xiaomi" and the picture says "Xioami 6 Pro", so if you ever raised a dispute with AliExpress the seller would argue it's not advertised as being Xiaomi at all, which is true.

            • @Clear: You’ve all taught me a lot today, thank you! I’ve unpublished my comment to ensure no one gets scammed via that link!

This is Xioami, not to be mistaken with the slightly more well known "Xiaomi" brand

    • Was looking at getting this when it was announced. The stand and hdmi input is whats special about these. I ended up with the S8 ultra since I was able to get it for $1k on release.

Lenovo tab extreme is coming out soon, targeted at the S8 ultra. No hdmi inputs though, it's a pretty unique feature.

      • The tab extreme has displayport through USB-C which is kind of similar to HDMI in (but it is also much more expensive).

        • +1

Wow I didn't see that. Not sure why that's not being marketed front and centre, again a unique feature in tablets.

A 14.5 oled portable monitor would cost $400 already, easily double if it had built in battery

          • @krisspy: Yeah fair point! That was part of my justification for the yoga pad pro that I use it as a portable monitor too

      • Does the S8 Ultra have HDMI in?

        • No, only wireless if you want to use as a monitor

Got this tab a while back and love it - only thing is that for some reason I can't get netflix from the play store, everything else seems to be fine (and Netflix works fine if I sideload the app). Pairs well with my 13" work laptop as an external screen :)

That being said, I just ordered some Xreal Air AR glasses from Aliexpress as well :(

  • Had this for about a year. It's great for presentations and or watching tv even and i use it with hdmi output from my camera to review footage etc. It's great for that sort of thing. The size also would probably make it good as a android/pseudo laptop with a keyboard, not that I've tried it.

But it's big and heavy, weights twice as much as an ipad pro and feels flimsy in comparison and there's a little bit of plastic creek around the cylinder bit at the base. Not to mention that larger screens are always more prone to breaking. The weight and flimsyness just doesn't make it good to carry around on a daily basis imho.

So yeah, I wouldn't give this to kids it'd get smashed in a month. Get a 10 inch tablet and a silicon case.

Good as a coffee table type tablet or for presentations etc, not a daily carry type thing.

    Hope that helps.
