    all-time low.

Technically $133.66 last night, if you mixed and matched.

    • +1

yeah, that's sadly gone and you'd have to spend extra. Good for those who only want to get this as a standalone.

  • +2

Is this about as economical as it gets for extra game storage if I don't have any more NVME slots?

    • definitely, it'd be overkill but also economical

      • +6

not really overkill, SSD drives cut loading screen times significantly

    • +5

NVME doesn't really matter yet for the vast majority of PC games. I wouldn't be losing any sleep over running a game on a SATA SSD.

  • +16

Stop it 🛑 please 🙏. My pocket hurts

  • +7

I ran out of M.2 slots so i have to buy this to fill up my SATA slots, anyone else in the same boat?

    • +2

sailing on the same boat mate. :(

    • PCIe -> M2

  • +1

    Ordered, thanks OP.
I was erring on buying a 1TB for basically the same price recently, and did a double-take when I realised it was the 2TB.
Gonna cram this thing in a NUC.

  • +1

great price. bought it and then cancelled in 5 minutes lol

I have way too much storage already.

earlier replaced aging A2000 1tb with 980 Pro 2tb, and the other slots have good old 980 non pro 1tb and some el cheapo 1tb 2.5 sata for stuff I don't mind losing

considering that A2000 will live in ROG enclosure, I have all storage I need for a while

    • +4

Happy to take some storage off your hands to allow you to grab the 870 Evo ;)

  • Paid 167 and i still dont have it yet… ah well. It was still a good price. No point contacting Amazon for a price adjustment…

    • That's not the ozbargain spirit. You need to kick yourself for missing out on a better price and contact Amazon immediately for a price adjustment.

I did too, until I saw that, tried cancelling the order, but because the parcel is almost arriving, they are charging me $24.00 to return it, which only saves me like what 5 bucks.

  • Does Samsung have international warranty for ssds?

  • What's the warranty like for Samsung SSDs + Amazon ?

    • -2

Amazon would honor, but Samsung wouldn't

    • +2

Amazon's got you covered. Samsung whinges, but has eventually got you covered.

  • +1

Hoping that it drops further down!
Apparently it should drop even further according to TrendForce research!

  • I paid $170 on Prime day, I got screwed on this. Not happy at all

    • same.

      • Cancel and buy again.

        • too late, it was already shipped, just got it today, can't return as they would charge $24 :(

          • @strikerwow: Select a different reason for return, other options don’t charge $24

          • @strikerwow: In that case must be local stock, this one is from US, warranty maybe an issue.

  • Will this fit a Dell XPS 15 9520?

    • No, it looks like the Dell XPS 15 9520 has two m2280 SSD slots from the graphics.

2.5" SATA slot won't be found in there, and is much bigger (suitable for desktop that has plenty of space in the case though)

      See the service manual here

Disclosure: I work for Dell EMC not Dell, and definitely am not an official Dell store rep, so I can't help anyone in an official capacity either (sort of like working for Big W but commenting on Woolworths posts..)

    So cheap.

  • +1

I just wanted to say I appreciate the OP's avatar image of Pepe :)

    • Aww, thanks mate

  • I ordered the 2tb QVO just days earlier and this is now cheaper :(

  • Any good deals on the 4TB EVO? I need to buy 12 of them.

    • bro what are you planning

  • Have the reliability issues with the Samsung evo 870 drives been fixed? It seems like there were lots of failures this model, in 1TB and 2TB and 4TB units, especially those manufactured from roughly Dec 2020 to Mar 2021, and the chatter online suggests it was a combination of cheap NAND and bad firmware.

Just want to confirm that this is resolved now, and newer units appear to be reliable?

For background, here's a long discussion thread about this topic: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/samsung-870-evo-b…

    • This is hardware level issue, firmware update wont fix it. I suggest go Crucial MX500.

    • +1

No idea, but we have 24 x 4TB 870 EVO drives manufactured in 2022 and they are in a RAID and get thrashed and we haven't had a problem.

      • Thank you. 24 drives is enough that you'd have to think any problems would have shown up by now. I also looked into the Crucial MX500 too, but also found lots of issues with those drives, which mostly seemed to relate to poor quality firmware. All I want is a reasonably-priced larger-capacity SSD that won't lose my data within a reasonable lifespan under a normal load (e.g. 8-10 years usage in a workstation) - but like most drives, you can never really know for sure what the quality is like until after you've finished using it (or at least a few years in). Problematic models/batches sometimes only reveal themselves a year or two after the fact. So basically, I concluded, do your research, but then hope for the best - and that the issues with this drive are hopefully fixed, and I ordered one of these.

  • Received mine from this deal today and it turned out to be a 500GB model with a 2TB item label from Amazon on the front… didn’t even bother opening the box seal and initiated an Amazon return. Mislabeled in one of their warehouses maybe? Pretty disappointing, hopefully everyone else who managed to acquire this deal got a 2TB instead. :)

  • Just checked my tracking and after arriving in Oz and being transferred to the local carrier the status on Amazon now says - "Unfortunately, a problem occurred during shipping and we had to cancel your delivery. The package is being returned, and we will issue a refund within 3 - 5 business days after the return is processed. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience."

    • Happened to my drum kit from UK long time ago.

      Disappeared during transit.

  • Mine was not even a hard drive, i received a dress and someone else's packing slip. Guess no new hard drive for me

    • Oh ….. if someone else packing slip, maybe just delivered wrongly to you.

Did you check Amazon online, did they say delivered?

      • Hopefully it was just a simple mistake.

Problem is when i spoke to Amazon they only offered refund so I couldn't ask them to send me another and the price has since gone up.

Seems a bit shit that if they send out the wrong item your only option is to refund it and buy it again.

        • If the tracking didn't say delivered, maybe still a chance you will receive it.

From my pass experience with Amazon UK, they are very bad, my drum kit disappeared in the middle of transit from one UK city to another.

        • Contact customer support. They're honouring the sale price for me after my delivery went AWOL.
