      V6 is long in the tooth.

      Gen5 has more than double suction of the V8. And V8 has more suction than V6….

      I had a v6 for years up until last year because we got a dog. The v15 vacuum head comes with hair de-tangling so the pet fur wouldn't ever get caught.. stopped me from having to take apart the vacuum head each time to clean it.

      edit - I almost never use the laser :P

    I'm still using a Dc35 Animal with a generic battery.
    Use a friend's v15 with the barrel dust bin. Though much much quieter and longer lasting, the unit is actually much heavier and the dust bin cylinder now makes it heavier to lift.

      The weight difference is largely the battery, not the bin as it’s much higher capacity and more energy dense

        I'm renting so the floor dock is my only option! The dock is quite flexible so it won't fall over even if you knock it accidentally.

    Decided the complete wasnt worth the extra $100 from the dyson site, plan to use the wall mount anyways, the stand would be clutter for me and this comes with the main tools I'd use anyways.

      It’s a lifetime filter if you wash it and use the vacuum per instructions. Wash every 4-8 weeks if used as main vacuum with warm water, no soap and dry in a ventilated place.
      You can buy them from Dyson, sometimes nice having one spare for while the other filter dries. Just Google Dyson parts and accessories and the site will help you navigate to it
