These devices are usable now after upgraded to fuchia OS, previously it was keep disconnected from wifi, and this issue is no longer there now.
I bought 2 about 2 years ago, and each cost me about $70, so i personally do not think 79 is a deal.

    • Microwave might cause disconnection issues

      • I am sure it is not the case. Also, i use 5ghz for this device, not 2.4ghz

  • Is it possible to add a sub woofer to these Google Nest products?

    • +1

I've connected my nest mini to a Fosi audio BT20A and have a set of bookshelf speakers attached to that

      • May I ask how you managed to connect it? Thanks!

        • +3

The Fosi Audo BT20A can act as a bluetooth receiver and the Google Nest hub (and mini) can transmit their audio to any bluetooth receiver device i.e. speaker, headphones. So you configure the Google Nest (somewhere under Settings -> Audio if I remember correctly) and you tell it to use the bluetooth device as the speaker. It's pretty easy, tons of guides on the internet to to it.

          • @OlorinSledg3: Thank you so much!

          • @OlorinSledg3: Yep like this. It works alright, only issue is that i don't have a yt music subscription so can't choose songs by voice commands (unlike on my other nest max devices).

            • @Kammi: I don't have YT music sub either, I have Spotify. Voice commands work perfectly well for me with my Google Nest Hubs using Spotify.

              • @OlorinSledg3: I don't have spotify sub :'(

The devices talk to each other and realise that my nest max hubs let me choose any song!!!

                Grrrrrrr

  • Can this work with Reolink Wifi doorbell ( non PoE model)?

    • +1

I have Reolink cameras POE and WiFi and asking Google to display the cameras does work. My only issue with it is how quickly it falls behind and lags. For example, I may ask it to show the driveway camera if I'm expecting someone, but I've had people pull up get out of their car, knock on my door and yet the camera, after 10 minutes is that far behind, they haven't even driven up the driveway yet. Think it's got something to do with footage going from my home network, to Reolink and then to Google. To many hops.
