4K USB-C to HDMI Universal Cable - 3m $19 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass/ $65 Order) @ Kmart

220

Was $39. Thought it might be a deal since JB is selling the same length with 4K for $49.95. Not worth their high delivery fee but good for those with OnePass. No click and collect stock left from what I can see. Comment below if your order fails or is refunded as Kmart's website often reports incorrect stock levels. No refresh rate listed so safe to assume 30Hz.

  • The direction is wrong, it's meant to be USB-C to HDMI, not the other way around.

I understand you copy pasted the title from Kmart website, but the title might trip some people into thinking this is a HDMI input and USB-C output (aka capture card), where it's a USB-C output to HDMI on a TV or Monitor using Alt-Mode

      • yes didn't know there were two different things. Initially thought this was the regular type of cable to connect a device like a laptop that has a USB C port with DP to a HDMI screen.

    • So I can’t connect the hdmi out on my laptop to a USB C monitor with this?

      • After reading the description in Kmart website now I'm confused as to what exactly is this.
But based on price alone if most likely won't be a HDMI to USB-C converter, so I would say no you cannot connect your HDMI laptop to your usb-c monitor, but I could be wrong.

  • Has anyone tested its speed yet? Is it confirmed that it's not HDMI 2.1 compatible?

Just a general note, these cables are especially useful for broken phones.
Had a Samsung Galaxy A51 with smashed screen and broken display, hooked it up to a monitor with a USB-C to HDMI and could see the screen and that the touch was working, so was able to back up and transfer phone data.

  • Would this provide a 2nd hdmi out? I'm using the laptops onboard one. And wondering if i could get two screens going.

Bought this item and it doesn't work as intended i.e. HDMI input and USB C as output
And even on the package it says

    "4K HDMI™ to USB-C Cable"

supports HDMI alt mode for USB type-C

    3 metres

    CABLE LENGTH

However it doesn't work from HDMI to USB C. But it works in reverse USB C as input and HDMI as output.
Hope this helps for anyone who is thinking what I'm doing wrong.
