If box damage then TV may be….smashed?
Ask JB to smash some windows.
Box damaged is a marketing term to allow them to undercut other retailers when selling directly without pissing them off. Box does does not equal actual box damage, no more than usual anyway.
Yep this - I have bought 4 TVs from Sony's ebay store so far and they are all BNIB, not even box damaged lol
I wouldn’t bother Sony are pretty bad with their customer support will probably deny any repairs if the unit arrives damaged
Sony might be bad but ebay has never fail to help me out whenever I have a problem with any of my purchase. For under $1k I would honestly say this is a steal.
Just got mine.. Tv wasn't just a little damaged, has a big whole in it. Worst part is that it has obviously been opened and inspected and still sent out -_- Going through the process with Sony now, slow so far.

I had one of these a while ago. First TV came smashed, but Sony was good at sending a replacement (which was fine). There have been some horror stories on here with these Sony damaged box TVs. I'd consider filming the box opening.
Not worried about these. Had a boxed damaged headphones that didn't work properly . They sent a brand new one as replacement
Bought a box damaged A80K, no issues and seemed to arrive in an undamaged box
Like most things, you generally only hear the few horror stories, not the hundreds of happy ones… I myself have never had a problem with Sony…

I wouldn't trust regular non box damaged tvs from samsung either.
Just received one of the these - the box was definitely damaged and upon opening the TV, the screen was completely smashed. Now what to do?
I have photos and a video of the unboxing and contacted the seller through eBay. Have ordered a couple before and never had an issue.
How can Sony not check for damage and send it out in this state? Very disappointing.

Sony eBay has been very slow to respond but have agreed to provide a replacement after sending photos. I have to wait for it to be collected and sent back before they send a replacement. I'll provide an update when I get it - hoping it's new and not in a million pieces like the last one.

Mine says DHL but the tracking number is no goodSame. DHL. Tracking number didn´t work. Got a call on Monday saying they will be delivering on Tuesday.
