Yes s22 series batteries are not good
Even the ultra?
It's more the issue with the processor power management, was average on a good day.
what is the battery life difference?
is it only the s22 and s22+ or include s22 ultra?
I get about 7 hours SoT with a mix of browsing, youtube and random apps on my s22+ on wifi. Using blokada 5 to keep the trackers and ads from chewing CPU cycles. I'm fairly happy with that. Also turning off AOD helps. Would be nicer to have a S23 but I upgraded from a note 9 and it was the right time for resale value.
I'm happy with mine. We're a few tweaks in settings if I remember correctly.
Was looking at the 23+ on prime day - apparently there are camera issues. 23 Ultra allegedly ok though.
S22 series is the worst in terms of battery life. Better get any of the S23 phones from the below deals if you have access to Samsung Education store or Westpac rewards:

Harvey norman pixel 7 pro for 820 cancel fee from harvey norman optus deal seems better.Alot of people complain about the S22 battery life. All I can say coming from a Note 20 to a base S22 Ultra I find the battery better on the S22 Ultra. Not sure if the fact I got it late in the first year cycle with all the patches matters but it's fine for me with usually more than 30% at days end (11.30pm).
I like mine, this price is solid.
As for battery, I get 24-48 out of a charge.
Some tweaks to settings were required to stretch a little, but not limiting resolution or fps like some have.
I'm using a regular S22 and battery life has felt about the same as any of my older phones. It will last the day unless watching videos for hours. I'm pretty happy with it.

I'd rate this over the Pixel 7 due to the telephoto lens. If you don't care about telephoto then the Pixel 7 is the better long term choice
