      Their main audience is in a socio-economic demographic where they have had to cut spending due to inflation and rising interest rates?

      That said, their average attendance figure is actually increasing as per this data. Their new Dolphins team seems pretty popular where I live in QLD.

          The NRL doesn't do well with in game attendance and overall membership numbers compared to AFL. But what it does better in is overall TV ratings because it outrates it in overall tv numbers. I saw a post on Twitter a few weeks ago and NRL was ahead in TV ratings.

      The change in rules, referees and the stupid bunker. I used to love the game, now i can barely watch it even if its my favourite team playing

      No more shoulder charges, any bit of rough contact now is a penalty, any of the slightest touches on the head is a penalty.

      If you watch any of the classic games between 2000 - 2014, if that happens in todays game then you'll probably see half of the team from both side either get sent off, sinbinned or sent to the HIA and never to return

        It's the inconsistency from the refs and the bunker that gets me.

        Also the good old salary sombrero some clubs seem to have.

      Nrl is better on tv because of on ball action. AFL is better in game due to off screen movements. Nrl has higher tv rating overall.
      I prefer man on man action that is MMA. No h

      false. you are expecting big crowds in Vic for an NRL game where AFL dominates? good luck.
      very tough market to crack when they are so passionate about their AFL teams. maybe have more success near the NSW borders or where there isn't an AFL team.

    Marvel Stadium is a terrible place to watch rugby or soccer, you are very far from the pitch (although not as bad as the MCG)

      Yeah, kids may get a little bored but the Storm vs Panthers Marvel crowd was a pretty broad mix of young and old

    I had diamond tickets for the Storm v Panthers game, they weren't brilliant, the GA tickets will likely have better perspective being higher up - we couldn't see the touchline behind the advertising hoarding they put up. Really nice bar in the diamond area though. To be honest marvel isn't great for NRL, AAMI park is a nice tight rectangular ground that gets close to capacity.
