Crunchyroll Premium Annual Plan: LBP 75,000 (~A$1.30) @ Crunchyroll via Lebanon (VPN Required)

5850

Now that's a deal that I expect a huge interest!! This is an insane price!!
Please show some love.

This an Annual/Yearly Subscription for just ~A$1.30.

Even if you got the free 75 day trial Crunchyroll Premium offer with Xbox Ultimate, you can not pass on this. It's so cheap!!!

What you need before we start the steps:
A VPN that allows to "migrate" to Lebanon.
Any VPN that can transfer you to Lebanon would do.
HMA VPN works
Link
Free 7 day trial. Cancel after you use. So you don't get charged.
Edit: This is just a recommendation. HMA withholds A$1 for free trial. You get refunded after you cancel. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Use any VPN that lands you to Lebanon at your own discretion.

If you decide to go the HMA VPN route, I would recommend to do it through Android or iOS app. Check this comments here, here, here & here

Steps/Instructions (Please follow them)

1.You open your browser in incognito mode .

2.With the VPN OFF you connect to your account or create a new account.

3.Then Activate a VPN and select the country LEBANON and visit the plan page that should show you the prices in LBP (Lebanese Pound)

4.Once you are clear which PLAN you need (Obviously the annual one), click on "skip the free trial" of the selected plan.

5.Sign in with an existing account or create a new one

6.At the time of paying you can remove the VPN (Important so that your data does not go through VPN), you will never need a VPN again… not even to see the content.

PAYMENT THAT WORK:
Revolut,Visa,Mastercard, Paypal
DO NOT USE PAYPAL AS PAYMENT

BROWSERS THAT WORK:
Edge, Chrome, Brave, Firefox

POTENTIAL PROBLEMS

•Prices are not shown in LBP (Lebanese Pound)

Restart the VPN APP

•Does it ask you for a Postal Code?

Put the one in 1107 (Beirut)

•But price it's not correct. I googled it and it says much more.

The price that you will get charged it's with the official Mastercard conversion rate Which is 1 Lebanese Pound = 0.0000174 Australian Dollar
Your transaction amount of 75,000.00 LBP = 1.30 AUD in your card currency

How to cancel Subscription (to avoid renewal)

1.Head over to the Crunchyroll site and log in to your account.
2.Click on the dropdown menu next to your username in the top right corner of the screen.
3.Select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.
4.Scroll down, select the ‘Membership’ section and click, ‘Cancel Membership’.
5.You will be redirected to a page with information about your membership.
6. Click ‘Cancel Membership’ again.
7.Follow the prompts to confirm the cancellation.

Alternatively, you can cancel your subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store if you signed up for a Crunchyroll subscription through their respective platforms.

Enjoy everyone!! 🙂

Oh, thank you so much! 🙂 Since you have made an account, welcome to the Ozbargain Community. And enjoy the benefit of commenting, voting and among other benefits.

  • Tried using Commbank, got Payment error but it took $0.17 from account with Crunchyroll Authorization in the description of the transaction, Then came up with the Unauthorized request Error when trying agin. Will try again in an hour. Failing that Revolut it is.

    • I am thinking, the cards that give you a payment error. It's worth checking if you have the allow international transactions on your card. If you have not allow, then you will get that error.

        • Allowed International transactions on commbank prior. Will try revolut, looks like the transactions are all still pending so your right.

  • Thanks OP, can confirm that it works using a westpac cc. On membership info, it says "LBP 75,000 / yearly + GST Inclusive", would it be safe to assume that we'll also be charge ~$1.30 in year 2 when renewal comes? If so why would we want to cancel?

    • Enjoy your Crunchyroll 🙂

    • +1

You want to cancel as the rate they using now is wrong it may increase once you need to renew ir

      • Correct as StarPlatinum said a lot of things might change in 12 months. It's better to cancel for peace of mind.

  • +2

Started giving Unauthorized error few hours ago. Was working fine before. Upgraded like 5-6 accounts since the deal was posted without problem.
Now even turkey/Indian payments giving error.

    • +1

Hitting the same error here, payment just not going through (tried both Revolut and NAB)

    • +1

Just tried Revolut and doesn't work. Comes up with "There was a problem with your card."

Ripped off. Credit cards don't work now. I clicked pay via paypal which was saved on my crunchyroll account and was charged 50 USD despite it showing me 75000 LBP a year subscription

    • +1

If you have read previous comment and looked at the post PayPal isn’t recommended as it charges u the last rate you paid. It is even bolded not to use paypal

  • +2

Yeah getting unauthorised error no matter what i do

  • Did any one getting unauthorised transaction from Crunchyroll into linked accounts? (CBA)

I checked and I only have CBA travel money card as payment method, but now I am seeing them charging into my step pay?

Need to get CBA to fix the Monday… sucks

I am not sure if it is linked to a scammer but I am sure there is issue with this deal.

    See from Choice Community

    and see CRUNCHYROLL * 415-503-9235

Just like mentioned in above somehow someone get hold of my Step Pay details and start charging. I have never use that card in my registration process.

I have now uninstalled all their apps for my phones.

    BEWARE PEOPLE!!

Keep using at your own risk!!

    • How is this even possible? Like we are paying to Crunchyroll directly. There is no middleman.

      • I think what most likely happened was that a hacker gained access into his bank account via some other means, saw a transaction to Crunchyroll and decided to mask their fraudulent transaction with this name to make it less likely to be detected.

Or it could just be a complete coincidence.

Did you even read the links I provide?

Or it could just be a complete coincidence.

So by coincidence some scammer happened to get my Step pay account then by coincidence they happen to charge to Crunchyroll and then by coincidence they happen to do it after a day oor two I signed up? I hope I have this much coincidence in this Thursday Powerball draw!!

          • @syswong: What does that link even prove anything? That people have gotten fraudulent transactions from Crunchyoll before? I've got fraudulent transactions from Microsoft before, does that make Microsoft a scammer?

The point is Crunchyroll is a legit service which has existed for years and not a scammer like you seem to be implying. I'm not a cybersecurity expert so I'm just speculating how you got hacked, like how people do on a public forum, no need for the attitude.

            • -2

@xers: As I said you are still suggesting that is coincidence…..

The amount of fraud reported with Crunchyroll and the timing of it happening to me suggest there is something serious wrong with their OPs and may be their apps too. Big company that has been trading for years doesn’t mean they don’t engage in fraud.

              • @syswong: Any popular services will have fraudulent transactions reported against them, you're not suggesting Microsoft or Netflix engage in fraud to are you?

As I said you are still suggesting that is coincidence…..

If you read my post again you will see that I never suggested that coincidence was the most likely reason. Although it is probably much more likely than your implication that it is Crunchyrolls themselves engaging in fraud.

Sure big businesses can suffer from hacks or data breach, it can happen to any business. But to suggest that CR themselves somehow hacked into your account and placed a fraudulent transaction on a different card is pretty ludicrous.

                • -4

@xers: So you work for Crunchyroll? Or you do security check of their staff?……

Unless you can have a better explanation of the timing or you call it coincidence, I am suspecting somewhere some part of this deal has issue. It could be the VPN, or the link of the deal? I am not sure.

Like you I am not a cyber security expert but rather than blindly trusting "trustworthy" companies, I remain skeptical when there is too much coincidence.

                  • @syswong:

So you work for Crunchyroll? Or you do security check of their staff?……

I wouldn't be trying to pay them as little as possible if I was affiliated with them.

Unless you can have a better explanation of the timing or you call it coincidence, I am suspecting somewhere some part of this deal has issue. It could be the VPN, or the link of the deal? I am not sure.

If you really want me to make a wild guess and the possibilities are limited to this deal only, then the most likely culprit would be HMA VPN, that site felt dodgy af to me, never gave me my free trial code.

That said, the possibilities are endless and I'm not going to make any further guesses since you're just going to get madder at me.

                  • +3

@syswong: You are just acting ignorant. This is obviously a scammer masking the transaction by the name of Crunchyroll. Have you read the links you have posted yourself? They are saying the same thing. Care to explain how such a big company can charge on some different card they have not had on their file? That's just stupid. Go and read on the links you yourself have posted instead of flaming on others.

                    • -2

@StuffSneak: It is people who neg that is ignorant…… No one so far can explain the coincident of the timing yet many are happy to assume Crunchyroll is innocient.

                      • +1

@syswong: People with common sense know how far fetched and ridiculous it is for a multi million dollars company to hack into their account to steal money like common thieves.

You know they are owned by Sony and not some unknown startup who just opened yesterday right? Millions of active users and you somehow think a few reports of fraudulent transactions masked as Crunchyroll is proof that they are scammers LOL.

No matter how unlikely you think a coincidence is, it is infinitely more likely than what you are suggesting.

                      • +1

@syswong: Bro, Have you even read the articles you have shared? Do you net see how ridiculous your claim is?
One of the articles you posted is from "June 14, 2015"
How about you open your eyes & mind a bit and think because its only you that is being ignorant here. What you are saying is literally impossible. A Multi Million Dollar company is not going to charge an another card which is not on file even. Like.. my mind is literally blown reading all this.

  • did anyone ever hear back from HMA about cancelling the VPN on the ones that failed to activate?

  • +1

Great deal but many series are region locked with missing episodes in seasons.

  • -1

    Still working

  • Tried wise, revolut, westpac, can't seem to get it to pay.

  • I keep getting an error at the payment screen.
Goes from "there was a problem with your card" to "unathorised request" - I am using revolut and crunchyroll pops up on the transactions but just as a verification.
I've tried making new cards on revolut and making new crunchyroll accounts.
Tried both on pc and android neither of which are working….

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Not working for me. Problem with your card error message. Both mastercard and visa. The mastercard worked on the Adobe Premium deal. Maybe they deozbargined it.

  • CBA mastercard credit works with vpn to Turkey.
About $20au/yr and I didnt have to setup a Revoult account.

  • can this stack with the xbox deal?

  • Not working for me either, tried visa, wise and revolut. Keeps giving card errors.
