Have had this phone for about 4 months - good camera, good specs - runs well. Paid similar price back then - worth the money.

    • +3

I got the same phone but the camera sucks. Do you use Gcam ?

      • +2

I use the default camera and it's awesome for this price range. All the better phone cameras I've personally used are flagships.

        • Thanks @besttraveltech and @Garry044

          • +1

@oziebee: @oziebee - just the default camera but it's far better than what I upgraded from, and beats my wife's Nokia hands down.

      • +2

Yeah I got this too and I think my 4 year old Mate 20 pro probably had a better phone. It's hilarious how slow this one is in dark lighting.
Still, with some work I manage to get ok shots and in good lighting it seems similar.
The rest of the phone is excellent for the price!

    • Same thoughts here just the battery is my only problem. First time in years I have had to plug a phone in every day. I wonder maybe if I am just using the phone more as it's a nice unit? I use proshot for camera as I have for so long it's a hard habit to break

      • +2

Is your screen set to 144hz? May be draining battery much faster

  • this looks a lot of phone for the $$

    • it is

  • +2

Seems like a phone with good specs, but no eSim for that price…. Pass

    • I don't know of any phones around this price that have eSIM?

      • +1

SE if you don't mind the bitten apple.

      • Google Pixel 6a for example

      • Nokia G60 is around $325 now with eSIM

        • Oh wow, I haven't kept up with phones for a while.

        • Awesome.

Currently looking out for a phone with esim.

            • @Wardaddy: Handy to get a 'local sim' prior to arriving, and generally more options for a better deal, especially whilst traveling!

    • +2

I'm curious as to why esim is so essential?

      • +17

It's very useful for traveling. You buy a local sim before you get there, install it, and the moment you land you will have mobile service. There's no need to have a physical sim card anymore

        • Cheers, definitely an advantage and wasn't aware of this.

The edge 30 pro, which is a much better phone, was available for this price and even lower.

    • +1

For me - slightly smaller phone, Gorilla Glass 5 (not 3) and far better battery life tipped it in favour of the Fusion

    • +1

Also available at JB Hi-Fi for $5 more

  • No SD card slot I guess?

    • I dunno, maybe, but probably no.

  • how is this one compare with Motorola Edge pro 5G?
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/motorola-edge-30-pro-5g-1…

  • +1

No esim, no SD card slot, no wireless charging, is that right?

    • +1

And no removable battery either 😐

      • +1

Heres hoping the EU follow through with getting this reinstated.

  • +5

comes to $469.30 at MobileCiti using 5% off code MC5PJUL and free shipping

  • I'll recommend you testing out these phones in person at a store before you put down your $$

    • Any major issues? A bit bigger though. Reviews looks good.

      • Every phone has a different user experience -the lag, refresh rate, keyboard feedback, how it feels in hand..
It's good to get a sense of it before you buy. Also, you can try out other models.

    • sort've a pointless comment really given you could say that about absolutely any phone or anything at all!
Most people will buy these without actually going to a store.

    • Clicked on the link and it's well over $800..

      • Sold out now, still available at JB for $499 and TGG have it for $497

  • +1

My wife has the phone, for the money very good. Turbo charging is awesome compared to the slow as treacle pixel 6a I've been using. Camera though not that great but for $499 would be better than anything I could recommend

  • Got one for myself from the Lenovo website during EOFY sales + Cashrewards cashback. So far so good, although I do wish the battery life were better.

    • How much screen-on time are you getting?

  • +1

Extra $200 more and you can get the Ultra version - double the storage and better Camera quality, seems good value?

    • Better chip too.

  • +1

can you disable 5G on these?

    • why?

      • +7

Saves a fair bit of battery and heat. While charging, and other tasks…
Eg; I like to disable wifi6 & 5ghz, 5G network if I'm trying to charge the battery and hotspot

It also stops the phone jumping to, and from 5g in low signal areas.

    • Must rather be an Android feature

  • This better than S21 5g?
Phone heats up and lags when playing diablo immortal

    • +1

Not if the issue is heating and lagging; you'd probably want to go to the Edge 30 Ultra for $699 here: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/motorola-edge-30-ultra-5g…

Both the 888+ and 8 Gen 1 in the 30 Fusion and Pro overheat and have poor sustained performance, which was somewhat resolved by the 8+ Gen 1, and then majorly resolved by the 8 Gen 2. The Edge 30 Ultra has the 8+ Gen 1 which would assist; Gen 2 phones cost a lot more.

  • The Edge 30 Ultra was looking promising until i saw it does NOT support eSim

  • +2

"impossibly thin" my old Moto is 1.7mm thinner

  • No SD card slot, not worth it.

  • +1

This or pixel 7a? Any other phones <$500 worth looking into?

  • As a multiple Motorola phone owner, expect max 2 years worth of updates.
