    Triple Display - 3x SXGA (1280 x 1024 @60 Hz)

    Nice

  • My laptop has no USB C port :( Is there an adapter (like a USB C to USB 3.0) that I can buy and use?

    • +1
      • Will the Targus one work if I've only USB 3 port and data transfer USB-C port. I bout Acer Nitro 5 in 2021 which has only hdmi and non Thunderbolt USB C

    • -1

You can buy a USB-C female to USB-A male data adapter and use DiplayLink. This is how we use to connect older laptops to various Dell and HP universal USB-C docks. I cannot guarantee that this solution will 100% work in your case.

      • +1

These don't have display link and they don't work universally

        • I see, thanks.

    • The problem is not in USB-C, your USB should be at least 3.1 to support video transmission over USB

  • Bought it. Free shipping too.

  • Where is the USB type C/ thunderbolt ports ? I don't see it in the picture

    • USB-C wire is attached to the dock already. I have added a new photo for reference

  • Do you have any Surface Dock 2 (Model 1917) available?

    • Do have it somewhere, send us a message on chat and we can find one for you

  • +1

The docking station is just a USB-C hub with built-in power supply right?

Anyone who just wants HDMI and already has a charger for their laptop could get a brand-new hub for less.

    e.g. $26 with 4K HDMI and ethernet: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0859TMPHT

But if you need DP or a power supply, these are a good deal.

    • They have a separate power supply. Either 130w or 180w Dell depending on the power of the laptop

      • Your webpage says Power Supply included. Do people get one randomly?

        • +1

Every dock will come with a separate dell power supply. Will be 130w. I just wrote 180w as these work with 180w power supply as well.

    • No, this dock is also a DP MST hub. The Synaptics DP MST hub inside this particular dock is not great but it will happily run two 1080p monitors at the same time with just a single cable.

  • These docks are great if you're simply using a single 4k monitor and a few accessories

    • On my 3440x1440, Max freq on HDMI is 70hz. Not great when you are used to 144hz.
For the price, still a good deal.

    • The description says 30hz at 4K. I have a $12 USB-C hub that can do that.

      • Your $12 USBC hub won't include a 120W power supply. This isn't a dongle

        • -1

That's a valid reason to point out that it's a good charger, but it's not a good dock for working on a 4k screen.

  • Does this have power delivery via USB C?
Or I have to plug both laptop and the dock their own power adapters?

  • im using one, its good but the USB C from the dock is short and for macbook pro it gets dislodges easily, somewhat annoying at times.

  • +1

I have one of these and it works great, running two 1080p displays. With a 130w charger, this dock supplies about 90w to my laptop.

  • Another happy user, running 2 x 1,080p monitors. Some of the older docks are 1,080i (not "p") on the HDMI port, which is fixed by a firmware update. 8th gen (and later) Latitudes are TB over USB-C too.

    • I had this issue when setting these up at my office! Did a firmware update but I still had the 1080i/p issue which made it unusable. That being said it only happened on pretty old screens, so I think that plays a part as well.

  • Samsung Dex for under $50. Probably super fast charging too.

  • I've used this for years in my home office and it's fine, however we got a few for the actual workplace because I work for cheapskates and there were some compatability issues with older monitors where the image was appearing blurry, something to do with the refresh rates not syncing up? Not sure but if you're using relatively new monitors then it should be fine, does the job pretty well.

  • Any recommendation for Docking Station that support dual monitor on Mac M1 (I.E. DisplayLink if I am not wrong)?

  • +1

I can confirm it is compatible with Google Chromecast TV

I highly recommend for Google Chromecast if you want to increase storage for sideloading apps or adding ethernet access, wireless peripherals.
Great for storing Retroarch ROMs, say.

  • actually whats the point of this device if someone can clarify? cant we just use those cheap usbc adapters that have hdmi and usb ports? slimer and does the same job?

    • Many replies from people have already stated that this comes with a power supply that will also charge things (like your laptop, phone, etc) so it's more than just "cheap usbc adapters that have hdmi and usb ports"

      • Yeah it's a good deal if you want a decent charger but don't care about decent video.

Copied from my other post on another hub:
Been researching used docks for the last few days as I got a new monitor incoming and need a dual screen setup.

Key learnings which I thought I'll share. Not an expert as it's just my own findings the last few days so I might be wrong for some bits so do correct me if so.

Macs with the M1 chips won't work with dual screen for most cheap docks unless it has displaylink.

Most cheaper docks can only display 2 screens at 4k30hz instead of 2x 4k60hz. Expensive ones can do 8k but that was more than what I needed. Part of the reason also being HDMI vs Display Port.

Some docks and hubs are thunderbolt and some are just usbc.

    My criterias were:
    - 2x 4k 60hz at minimum (meaning most likely display port)
    - 100w charging preferred via 1x cable (thunderbolt or USBC) into the laptop and nothing else (so charging/screen/etc). Wasn't fussed if I had to use my own USBC charger or if it came with a power brick. But def not one I had to supply my own power brick with proprietary charging cables.
    - Budget for a new/used one to be around $100
    - Although I mainly use HDMI now, I'll be switching to DisplayPort to get the most out of my screens

I went through all the Amazon dongles and they are mostly 30hz for the second screen. Some only do 1080 as well.

I found this dongle that does 2x 4k @60hz via display port for $104:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Cable-Matters-Monitor-DisplayPort-…

There was also the Lenovo which can do 3 screens for $89:
    https://www.untech.com.au/products/lenovo-thinkpad-gen-2-usb…

I ended up with a used Dell WD19TB for $95 (eBay plus discount):
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/295216160950

I would def pay the extra $50 for modular upgrade, TB3.0, better resolution and better refresh at 60hz

Can also be upgraded by swapping out a unit to TB4.0
upgradeable. Just need to change the unit and it will make it the same as the current model:
    $198
    https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-thunderbolt-dock-wd22tb…

"Swap swiftly: Switch out your module to convert to Thunderbolt™ 4 connectivity at a fraction of the cost without needing to replace the whole dock."

The full unit is $441 called the WD22TB

I understand that the button on this dock will only work with Dell laptops (to turn the laptop on/off), but should the light on the pre-attached USB-C connector turn on when connected to any laptop, or does this also only work with Dell laptops?
