  • Any easy way to get access to Samsung Edu Store?

    • +3

If you go to school, they might teach you how!

I've heard it said on OzB that you can do one of the free TAFE courses.

  • +1

Ohh thanks. Ironically I posted the BU8000 deal which probably led you to this deal. I needed a Frame TV so bought this one. Thanks a lot :)

    • If the TV I ordered last night doesn’t ship because the inventory system didn’t know what hit it, I will find you…

      • haha. I actually noticed the prices yesterday but sat on it because i wasn't sure if I was going to order one or not. When I decided not to I posted it, only to now find out the Frame is on special. I didn't see the 2021 frame listed yesterday. But hopefully the orders go through

        • Yeah, I hope so, we should be right. I did get a delivery date confirmation this morning (ANC deliveries?), so I hope that means my unit was allocated. I ordered the QN90B - ridiculous prices.

  • -3

don't forget 4% cashback via cashrewards

    • +5

Cashback not eligble for "Purchases made via Samsung’s Education Store, Samsung’s Business Store, or any Samsung Enhanced Partnership Portals"

  • Beware the Samsung frame is only 1080p

    • +6

The 32" one is 1080p. The 55" should be 4K.

      • 55" only 60hz?

        • +5

Do you need your digital artwork refreshing more than 60 times per second?

          • +5

            @O15: It's a TV. It's also for games.

            • @MrMcHairyHead: this…

i dont understand the smart comments when the question is valid… Frame TVs only have gaming mode 120hz and VRR on 65" and up

  • +3

    Very good price TVs.
    Oled S95B 65" only $1799

  • remember buying Q60A 75inch for $2000 18 months ago.

I recommend 85 inch if your lounge is decent size.

  • Anyone know if I can setup a Frame tv to autoshow a webpage on start-up? (Using it as frontend for my Home Assistant/family hub)

is the Samsung QN90B Neo QLED 4K Smart TV (2022) any good?

  • +4

Probably worth flagging that there's some great soundbar prices too, such as the HW-Q930B for $599 - https://www.samsung.com/au/multistore/samsung_education_au/p…

  • have anyone else had any luck using the $50 sign up voucher. I keep getting an error - have tried two different vouchers for cart amount over $350.

  • is the 43 of QN90B a good choice for monitor use for pc? Mainly gaming and watching content, some word and photo edit work.

    • +3

      Review here:

      https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/43-qn90b-qled

Note that the 43 inch isn't created equal as it's bigger brothers. It only have 360 zones….

      1. Max 1000 nits vs 2000 nits from it's older brother.
      2. VESA 200 by 200 (hard to get a mount).
      3. 2.0 speaker Vs 5.1 found on 55 inch and above.
      4. 360 zones vs 700 + on 65 inch.
      5. Alot worse contrast ratio 5000:1 compared to 10s of thousands of it's bigger brother. (But this is still very impressive)

Compared to this cooler master mini led monitor (512 zones @ 849, which is only $170 more):

      https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/monitors/27-33-inch/1011…

      • Hard to compare a 43inch 4k vs a 27inch QHD, simply go for QN90B. I'm sure 1000 nits is more than enough. Other specs simply outweigh the cooler master

        • The 43inch 4K is also 60Hz…

          • @Edyolo: incorrect, 43inch 4K is 144Hz

            • @Elquines: Sorry you are right. GGG now I'm so tempted. I have an OLED aorus fo48u, and Corsair Flex OLED.

They are all pretty dim… Should I get this.

    • Bad refresh rate

  • Is anyone else not able to deselect the premium wall mount delivery?

    • Oh it's because I live in Tasmania. Thanks Samsung.

      • Did you get any luck removing this? I'm getting it as well, I'm mid nth coast NSW region.

        • +1

No luck yet, support confirmed that the standard delivery option doesn’t appear for my address but gave standard troubleshooting steps like clearing cache etc. I’ll reply if they get back to me with a solution.

  • Can't add 32" to cart

  • We put a Frame up in our kitchen recently. Such a great design to hang on the feature brick wall with the invisible cable. You can't even see it.

  • -2

Given these are budget range pricing are they exceptionally slow to respond to input? I.e. ultra budget processors?

    • +1

Those aren't budget range RRP, they are 60% off.

      • -6

        Ok thanks… I can read.

My 58' Hitachi QLED from like 2 years ago was RRP $1149 (not that I paid RRP) but it's a piece of garbage.

These are the same price range ish as I paid, hence my question

        • -1

          Then go read some reviews.

  • Do they qled panels match the panels for the USA models? Want to make sure the rtings testing is accurate for Australia

    • -1

they don't - hisense, TCL and samsung give the good stuff to the US to get good reviews from the big websites, and sell australia crap (with the same model numbers) hoping we'd buy based on the good reviews. It's dirty.

      • Known for Hisense. Other brands are the same globally. Hisense even has different model numbers.

  • Ugh, kinda tempted to cancel my $1650 qn90b order from this deal ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784901) save $300 on a 65 or upgrade to 75 for the same price. Or even get a S95B for $150 more.

Anyone cancelled orders with Samsung before lol? Is it a PITA? Delivery date is July 31st

    • +1

Major PITA! Recommend not doing it

    • Give them a call to discuss!

    • I’m in same boat, placed my order last night!! 😭😭

    • I emailed Samsung to ask them if there is anything that can be done about the $300 price difference as I would have waited 1 week if I would have known. Worth a shot.

If you wanted to change orders, most probably best to ring though.

      • The issue is that this is the EDU store, not normal store. I doubt they would acknowledge it. Cant hurt to try I guess.
If it's a pain I can't really be stuffed messing around with them trying to cancel the order.

    • Last month I cancelled an order for QN95B + Sound bar on normal Samsung online store, and to my surprise the refund was issued within 30 minutes of order cancellation. Whereas in past it used to take weeks. Not sure if they have improved their processes.

    • Mine arrive just last week and only just setup. Yes a pain for sure, but that is technology. Amazing tv for $1650. Phenomenal for $300 less with this deal.

  • +1

    HW-Q930B Q-Series Soundbar + 65" S95B OLED 4K Smart TV
just placed an order for this home theater set for $2398 with free shipping.

    • +1

Grabbed one of these soundbars and oh so tempted to upgrade to the OLED too…

  • +4

A lot of wealthy students on Ozbargain 😂

  • +1

Damn 32" Frame sold out (can't add to cart)

Tag on product says "3 people purchased this product today."

    Not huge stock levels lol

    • Same :(

  • DAmn good prices

  • Missed the QN90B is the Qn85B for $1799 still worth?

    • Go for 95B if you can, or OLED if room not too bright

      • 95B OOS :(

        • +1

can't really comment on differences between 85B and 90B, it's still very good for sure

  • Bah, All the good items are sold out, Damn annoying for people like me who are actually legitimate EDU holders :) lol

    • I'm alumni. Does that make me not legitimate xD

To be fair I'm surprised alumni emails work. I guess it still ends in .edu all the same.

      • I have masters from Stanford. I still can’t get it. Lol

  • +1

Due to my poor experience with their support recently for 2 year old TV not going for another Samsung. Keeping eye out for Sony deals

  • Do these offers come up annually or quarterly etc?

I'm not ready to buy now but I'm thinking down the track I might wait for one of these.

  • What's the easiest way to get access?
Do I have to sign up to a free Tafe course or something?

    • +1

Use school email address of any student you know.

  • was able to grab 65" Samsung QN90B Neo QLED 4K Smart TV (2022).
but found it from searching the earlier deals on AU8000 and BU8000 postings.
hopefully this will atleast last for 3years. =)

    • Is 3 years the expected lifeframe? O.o

My old panasonic lcd is pushing 14 years now.

  • samsung still got shitty service and delivery?

  • Would Samsung QN90B be any good for PS5? Or should I look at TCL mini LED? Or ???

Looking at smaller options suck as 42", mainly cause I'm broke. I think smallest mini LED is 55" though…

    • +1

I'm looking at their product page and it seems it supports 120hz and HDMI2.1 (I have a series X) so it should be good for PS5 too.

The rtings review mentions game mode has less dimming areas, but I don't think that's going to bother me upgrading from a crappy BigW TV.

  • Why isn't Samsung S95B OLED 4K Smart TV (2022) sold out yet, 1799 would be a cracker price for oled.. am I missing something? I bought one last night, still showing in stock…

    • last time they had the 50% offer and most products shown available for a few days, then they came back and cancelled orders and said no stock

      • I got confirmation SMS with delivery date and time confirmed with their delivery partner.. hope no cancellation later on..

        • So i waw your original comment and went to order but they're having issues on check out page. Rep said they had stock of this one so hopefully yours is honoured and I can get mine through:)

        • Did you get your TV? What is your ETA? When did you place the order?

    • the price is great but some people may prefer size over quality (all >= 75" listed in deal are oos)
some people maybe concerned about qd-oled's longevity issue which was reported by rtings

      • I think size is a big factor. QN90B is a great TV also at $1300 and still in stock also.

They also may have started with more units.

  • Is anyone having problem with the verification email? Have tried to get it to resend multiple times to create my Samsung account using my edu.au email and not getting anything…

    • +1

Your .edu email filter might be blocking it as Spam.

I know my university email had to wait a while before they 'release it'.

      • Thanks Rich, did you have to chase it up or they did it in time?

        • +1

Mine was automated, but would be dependent on your institution.

  • Do these restock?

  • +1

These guys are useless. I got an updated email saying my order will be delivered a bit later than requested and the new delivery date is tuesday next week with tracking no.etc. And then i got a call today saying the order is cancelled due to not enough stock. ????Took them a week basically to figure that out and in the meantime to hold my money.

    • What did you order initially that was cancelled by Samsung?

      • the 930B soundbar,

  • Just now got a cancellation on my Samsung order for Q80B 85" [$2230] due to OOS.
Did anyone else get the same cancellation?

  • Even though they cancelled my order, I got another sms a couple of days ago saying delivery will be taking place the next day at this time, so i stayed home and then the window of delivery they had provided, during that period got another sms saying its been delayed / cancelled.

But yet my paypal is still paying off the samsung order? They havent cancelled / refunded the payment. WTF is going on?

  • Ok, so even though my delivery date never went through and i got a call from them a week before saying its out of stock. In my account it still says processing and no sign of refund or anything. No idea whats going on with these guys, Are they expecting me to contact them to get a refund/?

  • +1

1 month after hearing nothing from Samsung, finally called them up only for them to say they don't have stock. Only giving me option to refund or wait if there'll be more stock coming to the warehouse. So terrible.

    • I am still waiting as well.
