pretty good considering cooling isnt really an issue with the TDP of the 4070
The ASUS Dual cooler is superior to the Gigabyte triple fan coolers in terms of performance and noise (bigger fans). In fact the Dual is probably one of the best examples of the 4070 right now. Unless you like the aesthetics of a long GPU, I'd definitely go for the ASUS.
To be fair though, the 4070 sips power and doesn't really demand a beefy cooler. I have a PNY 4070 undervolted to 2600 Mhz @ 900mV and even under full load won't draw more than 150W which is comparable to a 6600XT. Average gaming load is more 120-130W.
Ordered the ASUS dual, thanks for the link. The price still hurts though, but the 4060 Ti 16GB at a similar price made it easier to decide.
Ah damn. I would have jumped on that. I'm kicking myself that I missed it. I had an active Prime trial and all.
I got in, in the first 5 minutes. It was stuck on backorder for about 3 weeks and then Amazon silently cancelled the order due to "lack of stock".
My guess is they didn't honor a single &&&&%ing one of the orders that came through at that price.
A few people got theirs, and the same thing seems to happen with amazon deals where orders get cancelled due to lack of stock. It's not necessarily first come first served either, which seems really silly to me.
Some people received theirs according to posts but seemed like a bit of a lottery.
Yeah essentially a pricing error. Apparently some were marked as shipped, but not sure if anyone got them? But plenty cancelled.

Feel like at this price I may as well just wait and see how the 7700 and 7800 go
The dilemma for me is both of my monitors are G-sync only….. but for this price, adding a few hundred for a 7900XTX makes more sense for gaming

$887 eb+ after discount here, less robust cooler but an option nonetheless
