4K30Hz? What am I, an animal?

    • stop it xD

    • fine for the switch that can only do 1080p60 though

  • I've heard in the past that some 3rd party docks could brick Switches…
Has anyone had experience with accessories like this? Tempted to purchase…

i think as long you use the original charger brick then it is okay
i have some generic 6in1 PD usb hub from aliexpress and combine with original switch charger, they are fine.
on the other room, i am using the original dock, but with lenovo 65w charger. this lenovo has many voltages and auto applying them. this setup also fine.

but yes there are stories about bricking

      • Cheers that is helpful to know, esp re: original charging brick!

        • yup there was a very technical reddit post by someone who i assumed expert explaining why.
iirc, its the hub. some cheapo doesnt regulate the PD properly (not like the ori docks) ie passing the whole power into switch therefore kaboom. so if you use bad non ori dock/hub and bad non ori charger, well you can imagine, bad plus bad.
when i say bad, not just the brand or build but the spec. cant be too high or too low
