The missus has been with Optus for ages. Got an Apple Watch with LTE and number share. Been going back and forth with Optus for months because the number share doesn't work (can make calls but no texts). No resolution in sight. Vodafone has rubbish service in our area, so it looks like Telstra is the only option left for an Apple Watch plan. Anyone know if this plan can be connected to a number share?

I can’t say for this pan for certain but I signed up 2 years ago for the same basic deal in store with JB HiFi and I was able to enable number share with my Watch with no issue, it just added $5/month to the cost

      • Thanks for that, I'll double check with JB to make sure that it's still in effect but could be a decent option.

Can’t comment on the JB plan, but the number share with an Apple Watch has been trouble free for me on Telstra.

Also can't earn Telstra plus points now with these JB Hifi plans

    • I got 490 Telstra plus points when I signed up $49 plan at TGG 3 weeks ago.

    24 month joke

  • Is there any deal with 12 month term?

    • Not at moment, but they run them often enough

$700 the goodguys gift card for $69-24 months plan

  • Any cancellations without incurring cost?

  • I can confirm that number share is working 100% with this plan I'm using it without issue.

  • I think the max cancellation fee is $769? So $400 profit but of course, you have to spend the $1200 gift card at jb hifi.

    • So they'll be losing money then? Surely the cancellation won't be that cheap would it? Can someone confirm that this is essentially paying $769 or thereabouts for a $1,200 JB hi-fi gift card??

        Voucher Repayment Fee
6.2 If you received a JB Hi-Fi Voucher when you purchased your Mobile Service and you cancel
that Mobile Service within any applicable Voucher Term, you must pay us the outstanding
amounts for the JB Hi-Fi Voucher you received for the cancelled Mobile Service (the Voucher
        Repayment Fee).
6.3 The Voucher Repayment Fee is a pro-rata amount, equal to the total amount of the base
Voucher divided by 24 and multiplied by the months (or part months) remaining in your
Voucher Term. For example, if received a voucher with a 24-month Voucher Term, then in:
        (a) Month 1: You will need to repay 23/24 of the Voucher you received;
        (b) Month 12: You will need to repay 11/24 of the Voucher you received; and
        (c) Month 23: You will need to repay 1/24 of the Voucher you received.
6.4 If you cease making payment for your Mobile Service under our Financial Hardship Policy,
then each month during which payments are suspended will be added to the Voucher Term.
6.5 Where you are required to pay the Voucher Repayment Fee, we will issue you with a bill for
the amount payable, which you can pay using a payment method of your choice within 10
days. If you don’t pay it within 10 days, then we will automatically deduct the amount owing
from the bank account, debit card or credit card that you have nominated for your AutoPay
        payments.

      • How does this signing up and then canceling work ? I need to spend over $1200 at jb anyway, how can i sign up and cancel for $769?

  • +2

You're on a payment plan for the voucher too, if you cancel early. Be careful people.

  • Any restrictions with these porting from Belong?

    • +1

Yes, you can't port from Belong or Boost, as they both use the Telstra network.

You can't have been with Telstra in the last 30 days

  • Anyone had experience with signing up with a new plan, and then after, cancelling their existing month to month Telstra plan, and porting that number to the new service?

  • The $500/69/24 is a straight up trap, but the $1200/99/24 is actually pretty good if you want the 300GB.

If you disregard the data (only need 80gb/mth), probably wait for a 400gc 12 month contract.

    $400gc - $59/mth - 12mth
    =$800gc - $59/mth - 24mth
    =$1342gc - $99/mth - 24mth
    VS.
    $500gc - $69/mth - 24mth
    VS.
    $1200gc - $99/mth - 24mth
    =$715.15*gc - $59/mth - 24mth

  • Does anyone know if they do discounted Pixel Pro deals?

I noticed deals like Pixel 128GB for $0 stuff like that on a $69 plan.
My question is I guess, say I wanted the Pro 256GB instead, can you 'upgrade over' to that and still get significant savings when JB or Good Guys do these kinds of Telstra deals?
