  • It's the same as this ugreen switch but little cheaper, right?

I'm asking because I need more of this type of switch and wonder if there's more features that I'm missing. I connect both PC and PS5 to the switch, I only click the button to switch between feeds instead of using TV remote. It saves me a port on the tv, so I can have more devices connecting to it via HDMI.

Yes the one you linked and this are the same type of unit, one HDMI to your screen and the two devices connected.

They both seem to support 4K 60Hz so take your pick, IMHO this one has a nicer cable setup with all the cables at the back vs the one you posted with two on the front and one on the back

      • Yeh agree with the cable positioning. This is why I’m interested to get one if they are the same.

I've bought this Portta passive switch before and I found it to be unreliable and too lightweight to be of much use.

A better powered 2.1 switch with some weight to it. Maybe wait for a better discount?

    • It’s on discount
      25% for 4 ports
      $10 for 3 ports

  • I want to connect 4k Firetv stick (HDMI) and eARC HDMI cable to this switch. Not sure about Dolby Digital/Atmos support. Can I use this switch to connect to the back of the Android 4K TV. Will it work?

  • Thanks OP

  • "connect 1 input source to 2 displays. NOTE: Only 1 screen works at a time, not simultaneously. Note: Cable not over 1.5m to 1.5m on the ends."

Is there anything that can duplicate a HDMI signal? I'd like to run my av amplifier with all my connected gaming consoles to both my PC monitor and TV without dicking about with HDMI port selection. One long cable run is involved (10m)

    • I have my laptop connected to my Kensington docking station with 1 HDMI + 1 Display Port (with HDMI adapter) outputs. My computer settings are set to duplicate instead of extend so both my monitors display the same screen as my main laptop screen. I think is your output source is from a PC then all you need is a docking station with more than 2 HDMI/Display Port outputs
      https://www.australiancomputertraders.com.au/kensington-sd35…

      • My output is the AV amplifier

        • ? Your AV amplifier plays videos? I meant the source of the video output for example, a Blu-Ray player, computer video card, smart devices like iPhone or iPad etc.
Edit: I got you. You have everything hooked up to the amplifier. The amplifier has HDMI outputs to TV and monitor. Instead of switching the amplifier to display to a TV or monitor, you just want it to display on both TV and monitor all the time without needing to switch it manually on your amplifier.
https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/comsol-2-p… Pricey and if it doesn’t work or you don’t like it just take it back for full refund.
Or this cheaper but needs usb powered

          • @wtfnodeal: Exactly!

That looks good. $50 is nothing for the convenience. The 10m HDMI cable (to go through the roof) is what's going to cost me.

    • The best way to do this is to use a Receiver with dual HDMI outputs - make sure that's in your spec list when you upgrade, it's a fairly standard feature on modern units.

      • I thought it was on my X3400H. Was not. Totally misleading marketing.

I got his and it works well. Only thing is you need to have this powered by a USB otherwise the switching will not work.

  • I have one of these and it has been great. I specifically needed something that keeps all the ports on the back so it can sit on my desk without clutter

  • I tried like 4 or 5 switchers from Amazon or Ebay but I could never get a second monitor going at 90hz or more (was hoping 120hz) on a 2560 x 1440 monitor - annoying because the monitor is capable of 165hz but I need the switching capability for PC / Work laptop / Nintendo Switch - any recommendations?

  • Received mine yesterday. My TV intermittently flashes to a black screen (sometimes for a few seconds) before returning back to normal when playing the PS5. Not happy :(

    • That usually means your HDMI cables aren't up to the job - you've added extra degradation with the switch box.

I've had great results with these - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B081NXV3ZR - they'll probably solve your problem.
