  • Does the auto renew feature also consider TKY currency when it expires? For 12 month subs.

  • Im having a bit of a weird spot at the moment.
After following the steps, its just stuck on a loading payment info page.
Never loads up. Tried chrome, bing and firefox. All the same results.

Maybe coincidently but I had a similar issue with ordering from Ikea earlier today

    • just checked and it worked straight away with vpn off. if it matters im using brightvpn

    • it was my vpn, used urban and it worked for me.
      thanks for the deal OP

  • +1

has anyone used "Babbel" instead of DuoLingo, and used VPN to repeat same process?

    • The lifetime sub is A$449.99

Can you check if the Turkish plans are cheaper?

      • @Scrooge McDeal I can't seem to get it to Turkish rates on Babbel, are you able to try? If not, I'll probs give DuoLingo another chance, it wasn't my fav to use.

    • +2

Keen to hear thoughts on Duolingo alternatives like Babbel, memrise, drops etc. Keen on spoken and perhaps reading/writing if offered for Mandarin, maybe others like Japanese and Korean. Mandarin as a first choice.

  • +1

You can avoid seeing ads with the browser version instead of the app.

  • +2

I’ve found creating a school and enrolling yourself as part of that gives you the same benefits as super.

Having said that, paying for super supports Duolingo

    • The real deal is in the comments. That was super easy, cheers. Is there anything super gets you that this doesn’t? I’m not getting ads and I have unlimited hearts

      • +1

According to an old reddit threads, schools don’t have access to practice hub.
        Also Duo doesn’t get paid.

I’ve found no differences besides no ads and unlimited hearts for my use though

  • It's free

  • Thankyou OP really need superlingo but couldn’t afford oz price

  • As a first timer for VPN purchases is there anything to worry about when using an Aussie credit card on Turkish VPN? Can you get liable or forced if found out to pay the Aussie prices?

Do people just enter their Aussie addresses as per usual or does it work better using a randomly selected Turkish address?

  • +2

So when it asks for country on the billing information page, do we select Turkey or can we select Australia? Does it make any difference?

    • Selected Australia at this point and next payment is now listed as 14th August for TRY 499.99 for 12 months of Super Duolingo Family Plan (after the 14 day trial)… So selecting Australia while on our trip to Turkey still gives Turkish prices.

  • nice, signed up, thanks OP

  • Does this paid subscription get rid of that craptastically annoying ''bing" noise that the app keeps making?

Wife uses the app and that noise is gradually infuriating.

  • Thanks OP for your guide as always.
Can I use my Aus debit card to sign up after accepting the trial or it has to be a virtual Turkish card?
Also for address what can I put in to make sure it'll go thru and charge the turkish pricing after the trial?

  • I don't have a VPN but assume I can just sign up for a slot in someone's 'family' who does? If so, can someone please PM me to join theirs as I'm super keen!

  • ok weird,

signed up for a family account
after spending forever getting duolingo to let me sign in and struggling with VPN'S (I signed up for Operas 7 day trial ) the avast deleted a crucial file from operas VPN seeing it as a threat so I ended up signing up to avasts 60 day free trial…

    then
revolut said I can't use my card with this merchant and cancelled the transaction but Duolingo says super is activated and next billing cycle is 2024

  • I signed up to a years worth of Super Duolingo a few months ago via the App Store (in-app purchase). Does anyone know if this can stack onto that?
Otherwise I guess I'll just hope this deal still works next year :)
    Thanks!

    • Same here. I tried login into my Duolingo account via the browser and it showed my subscription is:

[Your Super Duolingo subscription is managed by the iOS App Store. Manage your subscriptions via your iOS device.]

So I could not do anything about it.

But what is surprising is when I try to change my plan through my iOS App. There are 2 more new plans. Does anyone know the difference?

      • AU $269.99 per year - Duolingo Max
      • AU $359.99 per year - Duolingo Max - Family
      • Max includes Artificial Intelligence. I’ve read in different forums it is not worth it. Not available in Turkey, btw. Australia and a handful of other countries, only.

  • Anyone have any problems getting the prices to change? i've tried several VPNs with my existing duolingo accounts and the prices are all in USD always. I've tried clearing cookies, using phone browser as well as mac and windows browsers etc.

    • How did you go? I'm having the same issue

  • somehow everything turkish …

  • Thank-you.

  • Thanks. I had already a free account. Using your very clear instructions I just signed up for the 12 month family account. I will definitely use this more than all the free Udemy courses I signed up for :)

  • Just did it
    Thanks so good
All signed up for 12 months as family

    • Want to share or you got 6 in family? Just in case.

  • +1

I got "Your card does not support this type of purchase." when I used Revolut because single use cards dont support recurring transactions. I had to use my bankwest credit card, which worked

    • What VPN and browser did you use? I can't get the prices to change..

    • yeh i used single use too it rejected the payment but gave me super ?? and its yet to be cancelled

  • Has anyone else had issues with family members getting a "you are no longer a super subscriber" message, and reverting them back to the standard version ?

My main account is fine, but the added account seems to be having issues.

  • Anyone having issues with getting the price to change?
I tried NordVPN and Le VPN on chrome and on iOS without any luck..

    • Same here looking for a family spot lol

  • Disappointingly it doesn't want to work for me on my current account (automatically changes it to AUD). It will work on a new account, but I'd very much prefer not to lose my streak lol. Decisions decisions!

    • +1

Create a new account, then invite your old account. Works!

  • thanks, signed up.

    $18.89

  • Icenay ealday.

    Ankthay ouyay.

  • +1

I can't manage to get this one working, defaults to AUD pricing I think because I've previously used the two week trial and it keeps my previous payment information.
Keen to join a family plan if anyone has a spot?

    • I'm running into the same issue. Did Duolingo make a change or is there something we're both missing and doing wrong?

      • +1

It will be due to having used the 2 week trial in AUD pricing and it storing your last payment information. You could make a new account just to host the family plan and add your main account to it.

  • Many thanks OP!

  • Please use classifieds, if you're looking for members or wanting to join a family plan.

  • Has anyone been able to join using this method, AFTER their iOS subscription expired?

  • Hello has anyone had issue with not being to input the credit card? My first time signing up for Super (have not used the 2 weeks free). The credit card input bar goes away and left with "Start my Free 14 days", but upon clicking it said Card Rejected error. I tried it on both Edge and Chrome with Urban VPN Proxy but same result. Appreciate some guidance if you've been successful with OP's methods. Thanks.

  • I can’t find an option to take up a subscription. The only option is to start the 2 week free trial. Any advice on how to start that and still be able use the Turkish VPN trick?

    • My Turkey subscription started after the 2 week free trial.

      • Great, thanks for the reply. I think I’ll l connect to the Turkey VPN and start the trial, then sign up for the subscription. Thanks again!

  • Thanks @Scrooge McDeal and @76F. I logged into Duolingo, connected to Turkey VPN, refreshed page, then started trial and followed prompts to select Family plan, and for the Turkey price. Worked perfectly! Thanks for the deal and help with my question.

  • Does anyones currency change to the euro instead of the Turkish Lira?

  • Do you have to not currently be on a Super Duolingo plan? I have an individual plan via iTunes that's set to expire on 28 December. Do I have to wait until then to be able to do this method, or will it stack on my existing plan?

    • Did this end up working? I have a plan that's going to expire on the 31/12.

Its a shame they won't let existing members to join into a family.

      • Yes! So my plan expired today (29/12) and I went through the process above using NordVPN, and it worked paying with my 28 Degrees Mastercard. I also left the country set to “Turkey” and it was fine.

        Happy days!

        • Awesome, I’ll let mine expire and try the same.

  • FYI the link to pay is the following after your free trial ends
    https://www.duolingo.com/settings/super
But right now (10th Dec 2023) its seems Stripe is down for them, can't pay with or without VPN

  • OK looks like its broken :(

  • Doesn't seem to work regardless which VPN I use. It keeps on showing prices in USD. :(

    Any luck for others ?

    • I'm only getting prices in AUD

  • Worked for me! Thanks OP. I find Duolingo pretty cool with super on, it really sucks without it! Got 12m for about $12 with the 60% off offer on now.

    • Which VPN did you use?

      • Free Urban VPN (the one that OP used) - it was simple to install and turn on

        • Tried it. Really not working. Will try on a different PC.

  • Did anyone have success using Oldubil as payment method?

  • Works via VPN but if your Duolingo account already has a credit card attached, you'll need to add another card for this hack to work.

    • That may explain this. I only see the prices in AUD but if I select to add another card, Turkey is the default country. Will that then charge the Turkish price?

  • "Your card has been declined." error when trying to process using Westpac Debit and Credit Cards. Also tried prepaid eftpos card that was lying around but same error. Anyone have a fix?

    • Same here.

Edit: Just found out Westpac bank suspected this transaction to be a scam so it blocked the payment. Looks like no way around it unless I have to call Westpac and explain to them the purpose of the transaction. CBF.

      • Don’t waste your time. I called the fraud dept twice to try and get this resolved and the guy on the other end said he tried everything he could. He claimed to have opened and approved everything on his end for the transaction, checked with his superior etc, yet it still declines… I suspect it’s a Westpac thing, or the rep is a doofus.

  • With my old account, I could not get a different price other than AUD.
Created a new account while using NordVPN connected to Turkey, joined the 2 week trial and used Wise for the TRY499.99 payment (Super Family Plan).
Then, I used the invitation link with my old account, and it worked flawlessly!
Thanks OP, for the fantastic tip. Hope this works for others!

    • How did you do this? It won’t let me sign up for a family plan on the browser?

  • any ideas on how to add a member to family plan? have the person click the link and it just takes them to their account and nothing happens (on pc)

  • Just worked for me on the browser, even with an existing account. Followed the steps exactly and used an Australian credit card.

    Thank you!

  • Is a VPN required after payment?
