Yes though I don't constitute farmville as a game and ebooks, go for your life :)

-NEG, to bring attention if only Vision Tech would actually deliver what you ordered!!

ordered a few items from Vision Tech, they sent a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT items,
tried emailing them politely, they NEVER wanted to reply!

I never understand how these jokers are still allow to run business & post bargains here!
good luck on those who ordered, hope your shipment is what you ordered!

    • I bought a $800 PC from them recently and even though a mistake was made they fixed it at their own cost (around $60) and were great throughout the entire process.

  • POST UPDATE 9:27AM EST
Hi guys, due to exceeding demand for upgrades + mods we have released two more Get Smart PC's with higher specs. All three models are now available for sale via our website, in store or via email/phone call.

  • Great price for a budget desktop - any chance of offering a more expensive option where the M/B includes USB3.0 and mini DVI/HDMI if not already?

    • +1

      Hi Cruise Control,
We can upgrade you to the Asrock B75M motherboard for $35 extra, this has USB 3.0, full size DVI and HDMI onboard.

  • +1

To go from a $199 PC with HDMI and USB 3.0 to one without is almost bait and switch.

Nevertheless a good budget build if USB 2.0 and VGA out satisfy your needs…

    • +5

Not really bait and switch great white, we sold 86 units yesterday as initially advertised. Due to part availability we have to swap the motherboard unfortunately.

      • +7

Due to part availability we have to swap the motherboard unfortunately.

Then the deal should be marked as EXPIRED

        • +1

but they are still offering the deal with another part. I don't think a separate deal should be made just for a few part changes.

        • +4

just for a few part changes.

          they're pretty significant changes…

        • jv, I'd say for most people they're not that significant. Most people don't need the speeds of USB3, and while VGA isn't ideal it's still supported by most monitors meaning it's not like the system won't work.

The OP is pretty clear that the system has changed, I think that's enough.

        • perhaps an edit in the title to clarify would be good.
          something like [motherboard changed]

        • can't fit it in :P title is too long!

        • -1

          convert it to Hex.

  • rep please reply to email regard order confirmation

    • +1

      hi bbyboy,
sorry for the delay but we're trying to get back to everyone! sales on these deals has been through the roof so we need some time. I walked back in the office today to 320 unread emails and about 95% about this post! please be patient and we will get back to you ASAP.

      • got a reply thanks

  • +1

Never received a reply to my emails about different pricing for options so that killed it for me!

      hi Bargaphile,

      • -3

        That's 1 email per 100 clicks…

      • -1

too late now bud and you asked me to email for prices on options

  • oh no - seems like it's all sold out except the $449 option :( any other deals?

  • Pretty good deal visiontech. Look forward to your next deal posting (I think you'll need a week or two to recover due to popular demand). I think the 199-299 is a 'sweet' spot for budget desktops. Always have USB 3.0 as an option as it should become the defacto in the next 12 months.

  • All out.
So who got suckered into the $299 deal?

  • I have purchased one of these and my friend has a new in box GeForce GT430 1GB. I've been a bit of a junior burger since the 386/486 days with computers.

Would this graphics card work and be of any benefit in allowing me to play older games? CIV4 etc?

    • +1

Yes the GT 430 will work perfectly in this system. It's not a fast card by any stretch of the imagination but it's quicker than integrated graphics and will allow you to play older games like Civ 4 just fine :)

  • Well done Vision Tech. Please keep up the great deals.

  • how many watts is the power supply? also brand? generic? penguin, shaw?

    • Case = Huntkey C611
PSU = 550W Switching PSU, Power Case brand

  • +2

Anyone else notice the quote for the 1TB hard drive went from $60 as per reps comment on page 1 to $100?

  • +2

    Shouldn't this post/deal be expired?

  • -2

Im sorry if this sounds negative but I am really trying to figure out how these are a bargain? I would call them decent prices at best, but they are all very very low spec/quality PC's. Dual-core is nothing new, infact its outdated.

I mean even the hard drive upgrade. This company will take their crappy 500GB(5400rpm) hard drive out and replace it with a 1TB for $100… what the f…? You can buy a BRAND new 1TB hard drive for that price. Same with the nvidia graphics card update. $39… those cards are worth $25.

I got the following like 9 months ago for $500… and I even got upgraded to a better graphics card with HDMI for free. Look around people, way better deals at sites like msy.com.au or diycomputers.com.au

Stand back guys, I've got this one…

      Cool story bro! :p

    • +2

The bargain started as just system 1. If you're going to say it's not a bargain, then post another place where you can buy a new system for $200.

  • How come WinXP craches a few mins into install?
    Windows 7 ok.

    • Hi Teddo,

There is a setting in the bios for IDE/SATA HDD config, on the newer model motherboards you need to change this setting to IDE for the Windows XP to install (it's annoying I know, but that's a side effect of old software on new parts). I know OF the setting that needs to be changed, but truthfully I can't offer you a detailed explanation. if you can call our store on a week day (+612 8724 3350) and press option 2 for our service department, one of our technicians can walk you through it over the phone.

      • Thanx!

Yes, option 4 the 6gb/s controller mode.

        • Hi Teddo,
          Glad you could work it out! I know my description was a bit vague, that's why we have our service department here to sort these matters out for us :) In future, if you need any support or have any inquiries that are technical related your best contacts are as follows;
Phone: (02)8724-3350 - OPTION 2 FOR SERVICE DEPT.
          Email: [email protected]
Those two methods will put you in direct contact with our service department who can walk you through these types of inquiries with detailed instructions. Enjoy your PC!

        • not so WinXP! May have to go back they say.
