        • It's a no. I called and asked the same thing

  • Thanks QLD government, got idos for "free".

    • A Bosch for $301 or $551 wash-away price.

      • Think it came to $1150 or so after the rebate for a 9kg series 8 with idos. Not too shabby.

        • Hope you get long mileage for the unit.

My Miele corded vacuum cleaner is going strong after 14+ years & imo corded ones overall have better suction performance than cordless battery ones.

Bosh, Miele , Liebherr etc are good quality but bit more expensive than jap/kor/cn units.

  • Any idea how they supposedly determine replacing an existing appliance? For example a split system aircon?

    • Ignore it I reckon. There's a lot of weird stuff on there.

  • +1

Just did the application for the rebate ($550 on Westinghouse 10kg washer). Medicare for ID, dropdown for expiry year goes as far as 2027. Card expires 2028. Slow clap to QG.

  • Prices of the washing machines I had bookmarked mysteriously went up 50 bucks overnight !!!!

  • +1

Got my application in. A bit stressful though–missing out means 100% out of pocket.

  • Looking at getting a new washing machine. Good timing. Any recommendations?

  • Anyone how do they determine an appliances is replaced?

Also, the installation needs to be done by a licensed contractor, but a fridge or a washing machine wouldn't need licensed installation.

    • There's some nonsensical stuff on there just ignore them and lodge your application asap.

    • up to a maximum of $1,000 for a new solar hot washing machine.

  • Assuming you could purchase an appliance and return for a refund if you're rebate isn't approved?

    • Or return it once approved? 🤣

  • Upgraded to heat pump dryer for essentially 50% off (appliances online)

    • how do they check that you're replacing an old appliance? Trying to figure this out for getting a split-system installed.

      • Ignore.

    Submitted, receipt #171xxx
Who did one early Monday morning/midday and what number do you have?

    • +1

      Monday evening, #168xxx

I don’t think that number is in order though. Queensland has roughly 2 million household and I'm very very doubtful that 10% (200k) households purchased a new appliance and submitted an application in the first day alone.

      • +1

It's likely they started with a seed (starting number) and it's probably around 150xxx or so, but it may only be 1 number for every 10 anyway

    • +2

Submitted at 11:30am on Monday. #169xx. My $350 is already in my bank account.

      Big thanks to Queensland Government.

      • Did you get an approval email or did you check on their site?

        • +2

I got a decision letter by email in this arvo which says the payment was already made by EFT.

          • @Ahan: You bought online or instore?
How about you tick the possession of appliance or left it untick? I have bought washing machine from samsung and delivery will be late next week. So not sure should I lodge the claim or wait till I get.

            • @viki8702: If you have the invoice tick the box and lodge the application asap don't wait till delivery.

              • @dins: Thanks will do tomorrow.

              • @dins: It asked specifically if you have possession of said appliance.
I postponed completing the form until delivery is completed.

                • @milanoxpress: Yes but just ignore that. I don't see why that would be an issue if you have already paid for it. I think the main thing is that you lodge your application asap.

          • @Ahan: Ah ok cheers bud! 🍻

      • +1

        One of the first! Congrats

      • Same for me.

  • +1

Does anyone know how much is in the fund to be distributed?

I noticed that they are saying a 3 week processing time. Would that mean even the government has no idea how much has been claimed until at least 3 weeks from now?

What if the fund is exhausted in the first few days, but they don't let people know, and people buy goods expecting to get a refund that never comes?

    • +2

Yes it's a ridiculous system, they care about looking good/helping out but don't care at all for it being "fair"

  • +2

Just found it's a $22mil program (maybe including everything eg wages?) so assume half is used for rebates, $11mil divided by $1000 "above average claim" that gives probably around worst case 11,000 claims. But it's likely something like $15mil divided by $500 average claim 22,000 claims

  • Any recommendations for a heat pump dryer sub $700 ???

    • I went with esatto 8kg from appliances online

    • This one purchased via eBay - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/797413

      • I was going to buy this one before heading to bed last night… wake up this morning and it's now $775
There is price changes because of the rebate for sure

        • Literally “you snooze you lose.”

Still a great deal at that price (with eBay $50 discount). Maybe grab it before it rises again!

          • @AaronR: hahahah quite literally… I managed to get it directly though AO for $712

          • @AaronR: How is the dryer going? Are you finding it quite noisy?

            • @Chippps: Tbh we are yet to use it. Looks like rain today so will give it a go shortly and report back.

            • @Chippps: Alrighty - it's alive!

Slightly quieter than our ~5yr old Electrolux vented. Loudest thing by far is the metal zipper on clothes going clang clang.

One thing I noticed is where the door shuts it leaves like an area where things kinda sit in. On the vented machine the door was recessed and pushed into the machine causing a relatively straight cylinder… but this one leaves a void. I watched it spin around for a bit on a fairly large load and items seems to kinda get half stuck there for a moment or two. Not sure if that matters but I found it strange.

Let's see how long it takes to dry and how much water is in that thing that I need to empty (I couldn't setup the drainage hose due to positioning).

              • +1

@AaronR: I did a test with just 1 washed and rinsed sheet and it collected about 500ml

              • +1

@AaronR: Thanks… I also find that void really out of place. Glad I wasn't the only one.

I can't help but to just look at it and think it's strange.

Mine still seems a little louder then my old vented which is weird but it could just be my hearing not being used to the noise differences.

There is a good accumulation of water depending on the type of clothes being dried. The water reservoir is so easy to empty though.

                • @Chippps: Just checked the weird void and there is currently 2 baby socks sitting in there not moving at all while the rest of the load spins happily. I imagine they will still be quite damp when the load is "done". Definitely a design flaw. I guess my kids just need to get bigger feet real fast.

                  • @AaronR: Maybe it isolates odd socks

                    • @leeroys_dad: Well, it all ended up dry. Crazy socks included. The water tank was full from the full load which included 1 small towel.

                      • @AaronR: Hahaha now we'll know where the odd socks will go.

Apart from the sock eating did you like the dryer? Haha

                        • @Chippps: Met all of my expectations, so as far as dryers go this one seems like a great one.

My application is approved. Woohoo. Submitted early yesterday morning. Spent over 4k on a fridge so getting 350 back only made a small dent…

    • +3

Wow if there's a dent you should take it back

    • What'd you go with? Eyeing the Mitsubishi WX line

      • +1

I bought Hitachi RZX740KA. Should be a great product.

  • Anybody purchased from Appliances Online? They send out an Order number with your purchase details in a pdf document. But it is not an official Tax invoice.

“Please retain for proof of purchase - Note this is not receipt of payment” is written at the very bottom of the Order number document. What is Proforma Tax invoice?

Do they email you once the drivers drop off your appliance?

I paid in full by credit card. No PayPal and no instalment plan used.

QRIDA application form requires you to have possession of the said appliance and provide evidence of tax invoice, invoice with transaction clearly written. So an another invoice to indicate the credit / debit card payment went through fully. Well I don’t have that. Only the single document from AO.

I bought a refrigerator for reference. So no licenced installation needed. Plug the unit to a mains then viola done.

    • I purchased from them yesterday and looks like the invoice number from the invoice emailed today just before delivery is different to that from the invoice emailed yesterday straight after purchase. Not exactly sure why.

Anyways I entered the invoice number and attached the invoice from the first email so not sure if that's going to be an issue. I also attached a screenshot of payment (via banking app). They do state that if they require further info they'll contact you via email or phone. Let's see what happens.

    • +2

I purchased from AO and requested a receipt from their live chat. They sent a proforma tax invoice with just the "SO" order number and no invoice number.

Rebate application submitted yesterday and has been approved today.

      • Grats! I lodged yesterday morning around 9 am as well, but my application is still in progress. If you dont mind, can you share around when you lodged your application?

        • +1

Lodged mine Monday arvo no approval email yet.

          • +1

@dins: Same. Monday arvo, no response yet.

I only included initial receipt from AO. It did at least indicate payment (nothing owing), despite saying it's not proof of payment.

            • +1

@dullbeard: Yeah weird thought it was first come first served.

              • +1

@dins: I got a yes this afternoon. Good luck!

                • @dullbeard: Cheers bud received the approval email and the $$ Friday arvo as well I think. All good!

        • What application ID did you get in your order confirmation email? Looks something like 452xxx as opposed to the other application number that looks more like 168xxx

          • +1

@wardrop: The application number they provided in two seperate emails are different. So i have two numbers:

            • 168XXX
            • 447XXX
            • +1

@Summoner: I just got an approval letter. Surprised they are processing the applications on Saturday. Hope you guys get the approval letters soon too :D

  • am wanting to get a heat pump hot water system but worried by time they install the 1500 claims limit will be exhausted?

    • I think just do it, you'll save $1000 per year vs a standard electric HWS. With a heat pump my electricity was quartered.
Bonus is if you get to be 1 of 1500

  • Just completed the application. Claim #1760XX

Feels weird that the washing machine I got uses more water per wash than the one its replacing, but has a higher star rating (7kg vs 10kg machine).

    • Probably because it's starred for 10kg washes? Bigger drum

    • +1

To compare, I just submitted and got Claim #1772xx

      • +1

Got a pdf email yesterday (sat 17th) saying it's approved. 11 days later. Payment comes in 3 days.

  • FYI the Samsung 5.1kW Bedarra Wall Split System air con ($1,019.15) and 7.1kW ($1,274.15) on the Samsung Education Store are both on the Ergon list as compliant. I'd assume they're also on the EPP and Gov portals…

    • Very few are on the Ergon list and 4* rated, that's the first I've seen and buy not interested in Samsung Aircons.

  • Would a bar fridge size fridge be valid?

    • I don't think they discriminate against little fridges

  • +1

Hi lads, just wondering if I buy from commercial website: eg tgg commercial, jb hifi commercial portal, would I be eligible for the rebate?

    • +1

      yes

    • +1

That's what I've done for both my mum and girlfriend/partner through The Good Guys Commercial. I don't believe the invoice even needs a name or address associated with the applicant, as long as they can insure an eligable appliance was purchased, and they can ensure that tax invoice and residence can't make a second claim, they're happy. I think they recognise there'll be a lot of people, including trades and family members, buying appliances on behalf of applicants, so it'd be a waste of time to try to enforce that.

  • Got my refund in less than 48 hours from submission

    • Nice! When did you submit

  • +4

My two cents on the application ID's. I think they seemed to start at like 168,000 or so because every application submitted via that QRIDA website draws from the same pool of auto-incrementing application numbers. Also, I just created a draft and it assigned me an application number (178xxx). I have no plans to complete the draft, yet that number is consumed… in fact I could keep creating drafts to check what number the applications are up to, but then like schrodinger's cat and quantum physics, measuring it changes it, and we all did that well, no one would have any idea what the true number of applications is as it'd be artifically inflated.

I'm assuming, with a fund of $22 million, and assuming that all goes to rebates (the department managing should have a seperate budget for administration), then if we assume an average rebate of $450, that's about 49,000 rebates… let's call it 50,000.

The game I need to play now is my partner (not my spouse… yet… and I don't live with her… yet) qualifies for the low income threshold, but she hasn't submitted her tax return yet so can't go for the low-income rebate unless she waits 2 weeks. The question is do we claim the standard rebate now of $300, or take a small risk and wait a couple of week for her notice of assessment in order to claim the low-income rebate. From what we know about the application ID's, as in how they work and quickly they're growing, I reckon the rebates should last at least a month, so might be worth the small risk of it running out.

EDIT: I notice on my mums application submitted last night, the application number in the confirmation email is different. It's 452xxx which they refer to as the Climate Smart Energy Saver Application ID. I wonder if that number is more reliable than the other 17xxxx number. Oh well, if people can continue to post their application numbers, that'd certainly be helpful for those like me keeping tabs.

    • Your hypothesis makes sense.

      Application #4516xx @ 1:30pm yesterday.

    • Claim ID #1795xx
      Application ID 4534xx

      • +1

Almost 2000 applications in a little over 24 hours. Hmm, at that rate, scheme will likely be exhausted by the end of the month. If people could keep posting their claim/application ID's that'd be helpful.
