Dang! Too bad it's not induction cooktop or else I'll be all over it..

  • Page has gone, someone figured it out.

  • Anyone connect it or similar cooktop to a Gas bottle?

  • +1

404 Error - Page not found

  • Obviously an error

  • I JUST MISSED IT DAMMIT!

If anyone has one they have no use for, Sydney Newcastle and Central Coast, let me know!

    • +1

They aren't going to honor the error, orders will be cancelled.

      • -2

        Right you were mate.

  • +34

Ozbargainers out trying to shut down a small business for an honest mistake. Nice 1.

    • +4

I doubt that any one of us actually expected this to be honoured.

      • +2

        +1.

I just took a punt on the odd chance it might be honored.

It's all fun and games if you don't take this stuff seriously. I won't be contacting Chloe for the gift card either since it was an honest mistake on their end.

        • +8

I certainly won't be pressing for any gift cards.

I'm not keen on penalising a small business for an honest mistake.

I also think that anyone who wants to take advantage of a small retailer in this high COL environment needs to check their entitlement.

          • +4

@ankor: Whether its a big or small business, nobody should feel entitled to compensation for obvious mistakes

      • +5

Check FB and eBay. Those 10 people clearly do…

        • Bloody flippers

      • @jv did.

      • …then dont waste their time!

    • No idea if it’s small or big. Unlike I knew that AWS is big. But worst case they can invalid all that’s it? And they get free advertising too?

  • +2

Scrap metal yard for all gas appliances. Bye bye gas!!

    • I agree. The amount of gas stoves that sit on FB marketplace for weeks on end. No one wants them anymore.

    • +1

That's (un)fortunately very optimistic. These appliances are going to be in use for decades.

Victoria has only recently banned new gas connections, but it's not like you'll see residential gas usage (and the market for gas appliances) gone in your lifetime.

However let's not make this discouraging, it's stepping stones.

      • +3

No of course not, it'll be a long process, that's fair. But I think the amount of people come kitchen renovation time are not putting in new gas stoves, they are putting in primarily induction now.

Even the appliance stores are promoting induction and have very few gas stoves on display.

The cost of induction is also greatly reducing too - Ikea for example has a few 60cm options for around $400-500.

        • I was definitely thinking of replacing gas to induction but at this price I might as well just replace it for gas for now. The cost of induction is a fair bit right now, installing a new 30AMP socket and capping the gas pipe.

      • Agreed. Good luck trying to convince the Asians to give up gas cooking. If it starts swaying the Asian migrants to pick other states to move to, then I think Dan will reverse the ban pretty fast.

        • -1

I don't think it's about any Asian habits . Most of the (advanced?) home cooks would prefer gas. You probably wouldn't find restaurants with proper kitchens cooking on induction stoves.

Can't tell 100%, but your opinion might be considered hateful AF.

          • +3

@pizzaguy: Probably will be lol. Im Asian myself. Actually probably a lot of cultures that would never give up gas. I think restaurants would all be applying for exemptions.

          • @pizzaguy: I agree to that mate, gas cooking is the best & I bet you food is tastier 😅

          • +1

@pizzaguy: I don't see any hate in his comments.

Poorer Asian countries, think India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and surrounds, cannot guarantee electricity throughout the day. Plus, there is no electricity infrastructure in some villages. So they cook with gas, on stove tops, with gas cylinders. The government supplies these cylinders in limited quantities or you go can private if you pay more.

I personally prefer gas. Gas cooking is probably a very small fraction of the polluting we do. I see hundreds and hundreds of cars on my way to work, all with ONE PERSON in them. A single 1 hour journey from one car will make the gas sacrifice seem miniscuel. It's silly!

        • Might not be that difficult? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/-49EuKOCTqs

    Here just for the comments

  • +1

Bought it with click and collect

    • +9

So many people here don't know the difference between "bought" and "ordered". Very different in this case.

  • It is now showing $2299. $150 reduction from $2449. Good luck to everyone who is able to pick up one with $150 price tag.

  • Why is Buywise banned on ozb?

    • -1

      Because they are not wise

    • One thing I noticed is Buywise groups generic products with the genuine products. You need to manually check each one and then you often realise it is a waste of time for those items.

  • 404 ERROR - PAGE NOT FOUND

    I think they realised.

  • +11

I think Chloe resigned, no one responded when called

    • +7

Plot Twist - Chloe was the one who set the price to $150

      • +4

In fact Chloe had resigned 2 days before this timed deal she set in the system on her last day.

  • Wow just wow. I see 4 brand new listings on eBay for this Miele cooktop

    • so 4 honored ?

      • +1

More in the hopes that it gets shipped out. No one here except for one comment has reported it being shipped

        • should buy from him directly then report him for not shipping item. I guess

          • @USER DC: Haha, from 4 brand new listings and now there’s one left but there’s a bid on it lol
Good luck to that eBay seller

    • I got it too same

    • +1

I would rather them swear and scream at me over the phone for a $150 Miele gas cooktop raqther than a 'sincere apology' tbh

I feel sorry for the guy who has to spend his whole day refunding 500 emails

      • +1

        reckon ay

  • +1

    Just got my refund email

  • I have a brand new gas stovetop ready to install.. Just got my Gas bill. The price of gas is ridiculous!

    • +3

Gas is only going to keep going up and up, not to mention the daily service fees.

I'm down to one gas appliance now, hot water, and am about to change this to heat pump at which time I'm getting gas disconnected.

I'll save $600 per year as the heat pump will run purely on my solar panels.

      • +5

I'm pretty sure everything is up and up no matter the fossil fuel

        • At least with solar you can insulate against these price rises.

          • +1

@placard: ya is good if you got the money to fork out for higher upfront costs

what do you have now? continuous flow or water tank?

https://www.epw.qld.gov.au/about/initiatives/household-energ… Heat pump hot water systems $800 / $1000 rebate in Qld :) soon

            • @Poor Ass: Agreed. Hopefully with rebates and interest free loans it enables many people to make the changes.

Back in 2019 I installed a 6.6kw system (on the smaller side by today's standards) and was out of pocket $3.8k. It has already paid for itself as my electricity bills are hardly anything now.

Heat pump hot water rebates in Vic are fairly generous too. I estimate once installed it will break even after just under 3 years due to no more gas bills.

I agree, it's a big ask to have people upgrade everything at once. I kinda just did it as things broke, didn't replace them with gas. One by one, I had less and less gas appliances and now once hot water is changed, I don't need gas connection any more. Save $600 per year - that was daily fee plus gas usage to just heat hot water.

              • @placard: if you got solar is no brainer

I'm getting like 50c a kw feed in broke even few times over now

Although cooking with gas is more awesome

besides if ya in Vic can't buy gas appliances eventually ….. time to get an EV and pay that damn road tax lol

                • @Poor Ass: My current petrol car is 22 years old and going strong. I'm actually seriously thinking about electric come time to replace it as financially it's starting to stack up due to lower maintenance costs and the ever rising cost of petrol. Even without solar, electric cars are much cheaper to run.

  • +2

Just got a refund email, no explanation or anything though

    • Email as per above I received at 12.10pm

      Genuine error that can happen.

  • Haha cancelled, worth a shot

  • +1

    No cancellation email yet..

I'm not sure if my order even went through but PayPal has taken $37.50 already..

Everyone should get the same Email lol was fun

    • There we go!

    • Always good to look on the bright side of things!

    • There’s still 1 on eBay

    • "Selling as I was sent an extra one by Bing Lee Electronics" LOOOOL

    • wow…scummy as!

  • I got an email says, sorry there is an issue with their upgrade last night and they are unabel to honour the price. They gave $50 discount if I spent 750, which is useless.

    • Lol

    • so they wouldn't lose lots of money for you.

would you take a salary drop equivalent to this because of an error? why not? its the same thing!

  • Was a wild punt last night guys, but looks like that's the way the cookie crumbles. We tried!

  • Still waiting on my refund

  • +1

Still no cancellation email. Wonder how many orders went through.

  • Is this sent direct from Miele or this place?
I have a parcel being delivered via 'CT Freight' - never heard of them

I did get a confirmed order status. Did anybody else get that?

    • +1

You might be the only lucky one.

    • +3

I didn’t buy this deal but wanted to jump in and say I had a delivery from Amazon UK and they used CT Freight.

      • Ah yes, I see you purchased the NVME, have you installed it yet?

        • +1

Yes :) I got it last year for my husband and he watched YouTube videos to help with installation - said it was very easy. Hope it’s the same for you!

          • @1111L: Thanks, I am so surprised it is only 9 grams… literally thought the box was empty because it was so light.

    • +2

Did you buy something on Amazon? CT Freight is normally used by Amazon UK.

Edit: I see someone mentioned this just before me.
