Wait a month the new iphone 15 pro will come out soon.

      At this price?

Will it be groundbreakingly different/better than this phone?

There's always a new phone coming!

      • +12

If you're paying this much already, why not just get the best?

      • new phone may or may not be at this price who knows,

but iPhone 14 line up will almost certainly have price drop as it's no longer the newest and best.

And I personally starting to dislike lightning port as most of my other devices all upgraded to type C.

        • Aus dollar is weak, so expect a large price hike

          • @Kanjus: as weak as its going to be, it is unlikely 14 pro will have its price increased.

        • There’s rumours that the iPhone 15 Pro will go up $100usd. That might hold the price of the iPhone 14 Pro.

If you can get an iPhone 14 Pro 256gb now for under $1.7k, and the iPhone 15 Pro 256gb is $2.1k at release, well on price alone there’s a strong case for the 14 Pro.

To me, a slightly better battery life and slightly better camera doesn’t justify the extra $400 i think it’s going to be. Those are the sort of important things rumoured in the 15 that mattered to me.

I thought USB-C would be a game changer but realised it isn’t.

      • So will USB C on iphone

Not a bargain IMO, wait a month to either get iphone 15 or consider 14 since price will come down even more.

Not necessarily, Apple is very good at clearing the pipeline of old stock.

I tried getting a 13 Pro after the 14 launched and it didn't really drop much in price. Considering the 14 Pro will likely still be a better phone than the 15, it's probably not going to see massive drops in price as it would just undercut sales of the 15.

      • 13 pro is a bit special.

14 non pro has the same processor but worse (no 120hz and worse camera)
14 pro processor isn't much better and no RAM increase either, only real difference is the dynamic island screen, but a lot more expensive.

Apple don't need to drop its price because people who pay attention will almost always get 13pro than 14 non-pro.

        • They'll do the same thing with the 15 vs the 14 Pro. The 15 will have the same processor as the 14 Pro but worse screen, worse camera, aluminium body instead of stainless steel. They won't need to price drop because the 14 pro will be better than the 15 non-pro.

Thus why I'm betting the price won't come down much more.

@freefall101: but 15 pro will have much better processer than 14 pro?

14pro vs 13 pro processor didn't get a huge upgrade.

            • -1

@OMGJL: True, but I doubt that will matter much in the real world. Apple still spank the pants off everyone else in terms of specs

We might see 10% YoY increases instead of 5%, only because TSMC did their weird advanced 5nm instead of moving to 4nm like expected, and Apple have bought up all the space on 3nm. But it's not going to be a mindboggling enhancement. I wouldn't buy the 15 pro just for SoC enhancements.

The 12 pro to 13 pro wasn't a massive leap either, all Apple did was stick a load of L2 cache on there for the system to use. Which is great for some uses but not all.

          • @freefall101: How you know 15 worse than 14? Doesn't make sense for the downgrade?

            • @mr_asstight: 15 non-pro worse than 14 pro. It’s likely because the 14 non-pro was worse than the 13 pro.

      • I tried as well and ultimately didn't look hard enough for the 13 pro and then it was removed from reputable sellers to make ppl get the 14 pro

    • iPhone 15 pro rumoured to increase $100usd on debut. I reckon the 14 pro will drop but not by much. Probably 10% for the first few months.

  • Still hodling for the pro max!

  • I really want to see how Apple try to sell the Iphone 15.

Like besides USB C, what else is there.

Honestly until battery life doubles from solid state batteries i'd say they're reaching.

    • Like besides USB C, what else is there.

      What more do you need!

      • An even more Android like experience…😂🙊

    • Apple is relying on the customer base with Iphone X's and SE's that are looking to upgrade. Or those with 12's that have been on a 2 year plan with their provider and it's time for a new phone with plan.

I 100% agree though, not planning on upgrading my 12 pro max, However the missus 11 pro max is slowing down and battery is horrible. She will be upgrading

    • Has anything dramatically changed since iPhone 12?

      • other than the 120hz refresh rate for pro models.

        Not really.

Price beat with office works via phone. Zero issues. Thanks!

  • I would hold until we know what the 15 has to offer and the price of course.

  • amazon has 14 pro max 128gb purple at 1699, I just price beat at ow got it for 1614

I just called Apple on 133-622 and they price match up to 10%. They only do it with authorized dealers like Amazon.

It's great because I was able to trade in my phone and use my Apple balance. I purchased a few gift cards previously at 15% off.

I ended up getting an iPhone 14 Pro 256gb for $1019 after trading in my iPhone 12 ($510) and considering the 15% discount. I am pretty happy with that!

  • Officeworks is very low on stock for the 128gb models and if they did have stock you have to physically collect it from the the officeworks that has stock which in my case was too far. So pricebeat is not really going to work unless your close by officeworks has stock.

  • wait a month and get usbc charging

  • Does anyone know if JB hi-fi would be price matching this?

I have a bunch of gift cards

    • they usually price match as long as it's Amazon AU

  • Feedback on this deal now that 15 is out for $1,499?

    • compared the specs on apple, looks like 15 pro > 14 pro > 15
