One Way Flight (Fly 31/8/2023 - 31/3/2024) to Vietnam from Sydney and Melbourne from $6 + $105-$171 Taxes @ Vietjet

760
SUMMER88

Use code SUMMER88 for 88% off fares with VietJet. I was surprised and dubious, but I tried SYD to SGN on a few dates and could see them for US$4 (AUD $6) Then I got to the taxes and yeah it jumps up, but considering it's mostly taxes that's fairly impressive for a price.

For travel between 21 August 2023 to 31 March 2024.

Yes. The sale is on today only 8/8/23

    • +5

No thanks. I'm not going to be ripped off. I'll wait for the 99cents sale.

And add $200+ for any checked baggage as well

    • +3

Depends on the person. My last two trips have been all carry-on only, and that's with a one year old in tow. Others require checked luggage.

    • +18

If you're taking checked in baggage to Vietnam you're doing it wrong

      • +3

        hold my boogie board

      • This! Laundry is so cheap.

    • Then just go with carry on lol. travelling light is always better

  • Where can we enter the code?

    No option in the website

    • it's on the front page, in the search widget

  • Came up $300-400 for me in October

    • Pretty limited dates. I see only a couple a month at $170~ with taxes. And even less flights for the route back.

Make sure you're adding the promo code into the search BTW.

You fly when it's cheap and not when it suits you.

    • MEL-SGN came up as $166 from mid to late March.

  • -6

MEL to SGN flight time is really awkward.
    dep 12.30am arrive 6.30am
    return 10.50 am arrive 10.35pm

    • thats decent timing. the red eye isn't ideal but what's even wrong with the return flight? would you rather depart 6.50am to arrive at 6.35pm?

  • +1

and infant price is more than adult price

  • -2

one way fly, how much for the return, or you will stay there?

  • Don't forget about the corruption cost at Vietnamese immigration gate.
    that's around $10-20 USD.

    • +3

      With inflation it's 50USD now

    • +1

Whats this corruption cost lol i didnt have to pay anything last time i went to vietnam

      • +1

I read that they target at Asians with a rich and wealthy outlook or holding an iphone.
maybe less likely on Western tourist as they know they will get nothing from them.

      • If you travel light, I can assure there is no corruption cost.
They only target travellers with heaps of luggages.
At Tan Son Nhat airport (SGN), you don’t have to go through the securities scan if you have only a medium size and a carry-on (or less).

    • Been quite a few times.. never been asked… However my friends have.

    • You can get an eVisa online for USD 25. Cuts waiting time as well. https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/faq

  • I tried to book one, the first search page will show from $166 and once you press to the next page it jumps to $366. What's going on, has anyone been able to actually get discounted offer?

    • -2

YES I have. It's with JETSTAR.

  • Is this company any good ?

  • +1

I flew VietJetAir earlier this year and i am still deciding if it's worse than Jetstar…

edit: service was great, it just felt like i was flying in a plane that was made 30 years ago.

    • +4

So what you're saying is it was better than Jetstar…

12$ flights jump to 200$ basically so no sale as such..

  • I just flew return to HCMC and came back yesterday. Flew 3 flights domestic as well. Can't recommend them enough. They give you free 2Kg extra cabin baggage option as well for international (check the option in baggage) and abou $7 for domestic. Pre-book meals and save 30% plus you get served first. Extra leg room seat only $15. 15% discount in birth month for F&B. Airhostesses and stewards hot and friendly. Dont take checked luggage, you can basically live in singlets, shorts and thongs. Laundry is cheap and by kilo 50K Dong.

    • how hot exactly?

      • SIA hot

  • what is that web design 💀

  • I hate websites that disable the back button (Android)
