  • Thanks OP, bought 2!

  • Always like the green but had worries about the quality. Since bellroy is overpriced

    • Overpriced how? What are better value comparable wallets out there I should look for?

    • +5

I'm up to 9 years on this wallet and still going. No issues with stiching or leather

      • Second this. Easily one of the best value for money leather wallets in the market.

      • Same here. Been using my Hide and Seek Bellroy since July 2014. Been great the entire. Only thing I regret is getting the Lo version of it (It was the only version available at the time). Slightly annoying when overseas and having Pound or Euro notes stick out of the wallet. If you are getting this, get the Hi wallet.

        • I own both Hi & Lo versions and disagree a bit. Using the hi in Australia the notes are quite far in, and its much harder to get out. The wallet is also 20% larger. If you are 90% in Australia go the Lo version and use something else for travel.

      • The green ain't on special, shame

    • Wait till you see the hidden pocket in my Melin cap

  • Thanks op, same price at iconic too

  • Any good super slim ones with the cards on both sides style (my one i've had for years has two cards on each side and a centre compartment?

    • Bellroy Slim Sleeve

      • That looks ok but I'm talking about the style with back to back cards, two on each side pointing outwards etc.
I've got a saba one but it's looking very worse for wear these days.

        • +2

Look up card holder e.g. 4cc card holder. Oroton and Status Anxiety will have what you’re after

        • +1

Like kerfuffle said, I grabbed a status anxiety card holder to replace an old bellroy, and it's the same quality and significantly cheaper

          • @onlinepred: Will have a look ta. Not worth spending too much, made in china.

            Together For Now Card Wallet
            $49.95 (iconic).
They look too big as well.

            • @G-rig: They're the size of a credit card; not sure what you mean by too big. They're what you described: two each side pointing outwards with a compartment in the middle

              • @kerfuffle: Have a better look at the pics on iconic.
The flat ones can either be more compact and a bit thicker, or flatter and bigger overall dimensions. I guess I prefer similar to my Saba.

A while ago got a Herschel Men'S Charlie Rfid Wallet and it's flatter but too big and haven't bothered with using it. Was only 10$ so will one day I guess.

                • @G-rig: Look at the Bellroy Card Sleeve. It's vertical but has two slots front and back. The rest can fit in the middle compartment.

                  • @tjioer: That one looks pretty handy.
May wait and see next time the iconic have a big cashback or something.
                    Cheers

    • Dosh wallets

    • Saw this guy at a market recently. Didn't take a proper look, but it's all hand-made, so I imagine it's all good quality - FlySouth.au

  • Good one. Thank you. It's great quality

  • -1

Is it hiding the excess money spent on the wallet for later? I hope so.

  • What are your thoughts on Secrid?

    • +1

Much better quality, will last you longer, but a little thicker depending on what you are after.

      • Cool. Thanks. I like the mechanic feeling haha prob go grab it then

  • +3

this is slim but still quite big. just FYI

    • Agreed, i repalced my old Belroy with this and its significantly bigger. But still a nice slim pocket size for a full size cash wallet.

  • Thanks for this OP! Purchased one! Hopefully it isn't as big as my partners bellroy.

    • +2

      Partners bell-end lol

Overpriced and wallet is seldom used nowadays .

Have had mine for 5+ Years. Best wallet I have owned. Stitching, leather and holders are all holding up beautifully.

  • +1

ive had mine for 4 years , inner material has fallen apart in some areas, overall though, still a nice wallet, might grab another one cause $76.5 after cashback is pretty good deal

  • On sale through Milligram too - https://milligram.com/collections/bellroy

  • +1

Had this wallet for 8 years and it’s aged amazingly - as others have commented the lining and stitching are perfectly intact. Only tip I have for any owner is to ensure the small metal owl faces in when putting it your pocket, it sawed through a couple of pairs of jeans over time before I worked out this one simple trick (Doctors Hate Me).

    • +2

Dude, I had to join up and sign in just to congratulate you for this last sentence. I choked on my coffee laughing.

  • Ahh man I really want the blue interior one. Absolutely love blue leather. Loved the blue leather pixel case!

  • Another +1 here, had this wallet going on 10 years now and it's aged beautifully (although I do have a loose stitch on a foldover leather piece which was an easy fix).

Distinctly remember paying $105 RRP so this price 10 years later is pretty good.

Reason I bought it at the time was the super slim thickness, at the time every wallet seemed like it had 10+ unnecessary card slots, these days slim wallets are more common but I'd still highly recommend Belroy due to Aussie brand and the quality.

  • Go the bell-end

I had a bellroy a few years ago, I had it for about 2 years, it was ok, but honestly if you have a lot of cards, it still creates this kind of an imprint kind of thing. I wouldn't say the quality personally was the best as some others have said, by the second year the bellroy bird logo which was some metal pin had come off. I emailed them about it, and surprisingly they were quite helpful and replaced the whole wallet.

  • dum question here, can you fit japanese yen/ hk & singapore dollar into bellroy hide and seek low version? don't like large wallet but low version is acceptable

    • +1

I used it when I had it travelling in HK and Japan, Yen was ok passable, HK dollars wasn't so much, they stick out, and yeah like 0.5cm of the note is just creased up when this happens. Also depends on how many cards and notes you have, if you got a lot of cards, then you wont be able to fit as much notes. Then it just looks like those big fat wallets that can't close up.

      • Just get a money clip. When walking around especially travelling, I'd rather take as fewer things around as possible (in case of loss/theft, don't want all your eggs in one basket type of thing).

  • I use BullCaptain. The older models have a see through that isn't on ebay any more. But these last a long time!

  • Thanks, I've been waiting for a sale on this wallet for a while :)

Always feel a little uneased when travelling oversea with no rfid. My regular wallet can't keep too much cash either.

    • I've seen people claim that these rfid proof wallets are 'nonsense'. That just having two or more cards will mess with the reader /skimmer. Or just put an opal card in there too.

Kinda makes these rfid wallets redundant.

    • Wouldn't worry about that..
Just carry the days cash around, I wouldn't even take a card out and about usually (or have multiple ones anyway).

PS $85 isn't much of a 'sale' to make me want one, these days I'd prefer a slim card holder 4 card style wallet given we live in a mostly cashless society. Still have an old country road wallet never use, can keep that as a burner lol. Half the time just carry a few card loose, don't like bulky pockets.

      • +1

I'm with you mate, same, 3 cards, already loaded on my phone + DL (also on phone). Keep $50 in cash in my wallet, that's the only difference really.
