  • In direct sunlight and weather exposure, these solar panels don't last long. But I find if you tuck them under the eaves, while they may not get full sunlight, they do get enough sunlight to remain charged and turn on during motion sensor activation, and can last for years in this situation.

    • I cannot vouch for other solar panels or motion sensor lights but this has being doing perfect job since I bought it last year on full sunlight for whole day.

      • I've had to replace solar powered stuff in the past because UV has degraded the panel.

        I suppose the point I'm making is they don't seem to actually require many hours of direct sun to stay recharged.

    • As above comment, I have the revision prior to the current one and it's been sitting on top of the gutter in direct weather and it has held up quite well compared to other solar lights I have purchased prior.

    • Mine is still going strong after 3 years.

      As long as you're using approved sun to light cables you should be fine to DIY.
