Good deal given newer watches are using the same SoC afaik, and these watches come with 4 years of Android/One UI updates. One UI 5 for these coming out next month, this will be the second major update so 2 more years of major updates. I feel like I'm repeating myself but that's because it's 1am.

I've personally owned one of these, serving me quit well thus far.

Enjoy!

How to tell if it's a legit store since 69.8% of positive feedback

      Nice

    • +1

Because its samsung. Their support is so bad.

Damn! I just bought this yesterday from them for the original price.
Does anyone know if eBay has a policy that will honour the new reduced price? Probably wishful thinking

  • +1

    Omg those comments…

  • I was gonna purchase until I read all the reviews, at first I thought it was a dodgy unknow seller, the unknow part was ruled out…..

I had one of these, default settings out of the box, LTE off, the battery ran out at 7pm every day, no exercise. Tried wiping it several times, no improvement. Completely useless device. Do not buy.

    • +2

      Agree - unusable battery life.

    • Not sure 40 mm, my 44mm lasts me 3-4 days between charge. No exercise, mainly just for notifications and check time. You do need to turn some features off.

      • I couldn't get it to last even 1 day with everything non essential except always-on-display off. It was useless, the 40mm device is a scam.

    • +1

I have to charge this almost twice a day (around 7pm and 7am to ensure it last through a day at office) with most bell and whistle turned off, Airplane Mode on, Bluetooth on, AOD on, a handful of apps notifications and exercise twice a day.

Switched to a pro 5 recently which lasts about 50h with same settings and usage. So I'd advice most people to go for the 44mm unless they have very tiny wrists.

    • My 44mm LTE version easily lasts a full day and usually at least half of the next day, if not a until bed time. I charge daily at bed time usually but generally have 50-60% charge remaining then. There are certain watch faces that drain it faster though. Depends on how often they hammer the sensors.

  • Does this look legit? I'm skeptical. Galaxy watch 5, for $243. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145114161582?_trkparms=amclksrc%…

looks ok, model number R900 lines up, seller feedback is good plus you have eBay Money Back Guarantee.

      • Strange that it's half the regular price though. I'm so tempted to get it.

  • Wow, looking at the previous deals for these types of watches this was an exceptional deal. Good job, OP!

  • Loads of these for sale on gumtree, even unopened ones.

    • Yes, there are 44mm LTE ones unopened for around $200. I guess that's a good price

Must be from the recent Samsung promotion of free watch redemption with the S23 series. I myself sold one on Marketplace recently.

    • These watches have 0 market value.
Not even Cash Converters want them 😂

Samsung messaged me to say that these watches have not been opened and the box has is not damaged. I will have to wait and see

Crappy watch with 1 day battery life.

    • +2

Agree but that's similar to the market leader apple watch.

Having owned this for a few months ago, I can attest battery won't last more than 2 days with heavy usage.

Despite that, it is a very good watch with outstanding features that does a good assisting (eg: receiving calls, recording activities, SamsungPay, quick notification, music, etc).

The only thing about this watch is the health metrics. Unlike Withings which are clinically accredited (TGA approved), their health metrics probably shouldn't be relied on. So things like their ECG, Vascular Age, SP02 probably shouldn't be relied on. It doesn't have Pulse Wave Velocity.

However, their sporting metrics (Vo2Max) are excellent. Steps appear to be relatively accurate (when you link this to AIA Vitality, this watch is like money generating machine), activities are recorded accurately (every 10 minutes, it automatically records) and its feedback (like heart rate split, running assessments, GPS routing) are believable.

So I'd say this is a good bargain. Watch 6 will be more or less building from here but temperature sensing and better chipset and hopefully battery life.

Samsung obtained TGA approval for blood pressure and ECG monitoring around September 2021.

      • Oh I didn't know that. That makes Withings even less attractive to have!

It's hard to believe the blood pressure would be accurate. I am currently using BPM Connect for my Blood Pressure device.

  • Having owned one before giving it to my mum, I will say that the battery on this is quite unimpressive. The virtual bezel is also really annoying. Plus it's really not that good as a fitness tracker like the rest of Samsung's range.

Though as a smart watch, it's pretty good and at this price, it's a good option.

  • bezel also damaged

  • I've always been attracted to the technology but just can't imagine owning a watch that I need to charge every night.

I got my Galaxy Watch 4 watched delivered today. It came very quick, ordered on 10th. I am in Melbourne. Box is not damaged at all and looks brand new….but

Customer service is shocking!, They don't answer any questions once they have your money. I would expect better from Samsung
