How bad is the battery life?

    • +4

It's an AA battery, so it lasts forever, and when it finally runs out you chuck another one in within 60 seconds and you got another six months easy.

I have 3 mice that run on AAs, last time I put batteries in was December. Two are used daily- Logitechs. My Rapoo is just a spare that only get used every two or three days.

      • I dunno what's the trendy goal with the trend to making rechargeable dock gaming mice that last 3 days, the AA 6-month battery method was just way superior

        • +1

Lighter and better balancing of the weight around the mouse. Plenty of rechargeable wireless gaming mice also last more than 3 days.

These cheap non-'gamer' mice also rely on very low polling rates and bluetooth mode (very high input latency) to achieve longer battery life. If you put a g pro x superlight or razer viper pro on 125hz they'd also last for weeks.

Idk where you're getting 3 days of battery life from, the popular gpx as an example already has a battery life in the 100+ hr power on time at 1k hz.

@JerraJones: The Logitech G305s are AA cell, and 2.4Ghz, not Bluetooth. Runtime of 8 months so far.

I figure he was exaggerating with the 3 day figure, but there you go and quote an actual figure of 4 days :D

            • @rumblytangara: That's a rated 4 days of never being turned off, I'd love to see the state of someone's eyes from using a pc for 100 hrs straight XD

From threads online it lasts more like 200+ at its max polling rate. That's easily over a month and having to plug in overnight once a month isn't a big deal. Much longer if you don't mind lower polling rates.

I main g305 so I know about its battery life. Also the g305 is by default set to a lower polling rate which extends the battery.

G305 is a great example of a battery powered mouse that's not great for serious gaming, it's way too back heavy even with the AAA battery mod and taking the back hump off.

Damn i feel logitech is ripping people now after seeing this price

    • +2

Wait till you try this out…. LOL

    • The Logitechs are noticeably nicer to hold. The rapoo has sharper ridges and the silent clicks feel mushy.

I don't like the Rapoo much, but my kid doesn't care between a Logitech 305 or the Rapoo.

  • this coupon code is trying to tell me something about New Zealand

    something I already know lol

  • I don't need this I already have 2 portable mice, I don't need this, I don't need this…. Hmmm

    • I don't need this I already have 3

      I don't need this I already have 4

but seriously I still haven't unpacked the Logi triathlon from the recent deal

  • +1

I haven't unpacked my last lenovo gaming mouse either lol, that was from a deal like 6 months ago haha.

Of course I'm going to buy it…

Which colour though, my lappy is blue but I love the red. Hmm.

      one each colour of course!

  • does the scroll wheel have incremental tactile feedback / resistance?

    • Yes. Feels like a Logitech.

  • lol, how has rapoo not been sued out of existence for design/trademark infringement?

    • Logitech could potentially get them for the patents but not trademark.

      • Maybe not trademark but designs for sure.

  • Grey oos…

  • Does anyone know if this is a silent mouse?

    • Read the post…

    • As it says, yes. Reviews confirm this.

    • Very, very quiet. Great for a classroom environment.

I bought it last week for $11.89. I use it for Mac. Good size, button is quiet, support both USB and blue tooth too. This is a good one.

    • "support both USB and blue tooth too"

well,,.. too bad i have slightly dark brown tooth

Had this but sold it. If you're moving from a quality wireless gaming mouse or similar you'll notice the latency and jerks.

    • Probably fine for strategy games and the like etc and general browsing / work though I am assuming?

      • Depends - if you have a high refresh rate monitor and are a bit used to cursors being smooth then you'll get annoyed (like me hah). For most people it should be fine.

        • Yeah nah, I'm used to 60 hertz on my all my monitors. I'm getting older too so I don't I think I would notice the difference with a higher rate screen. So yeah, for most of my things, execpt the odd fps etc I occasionally still play, I think it should be ok.

I have other gaming mice for those fps games anyway, I think this one is to chuck in the laptop bag for portability uses, definitely better than the touchpad I would assume :)

          Thanks for your advice

          • @Misha Bakunin: As an old fart I have found high refresh is easier on my brain. 60hz was only chosen because that was the frequency of AC current in the US and was adopted for TV.

Monitors are starting to go back to a 75hz minimum after being sucked into the tv standard when they went fhd.
Notebooks are also breaking away from 16:9 which became the default for awhile.

I bought three of these for various devices last time at this price and they have all performed flawlessly on bluetooth - MacBook Air, iPad Pro and Dell XPC. In fact the MacBook Air one is also used in an older MacBook Pro via the dongle. I would recommend them!

  • Code doesn't work for red

  • Red and light pink still in stock

    • Thanks. I hate it when people repeatedly report instock deals as out of stock. Spamming me with notifications.

      • I think it's because the code was single use per account so many people think the deal expired on Amazon (code not working/display)

    • Only Pink left now

  • Received mine today. The build quality is meh, looks like a cheap toy trying to imitate the MX anywhere. Would be surprised it this could last a year on daily use.

  • Go to Deal link now takes you to an Amazon page for a wired mouse.

  • It was just back in stock.
but only 1 left, so I bought it.

  • seems to take a few seconds to wake up from non-activity. was using BT. Not sure if same with dongle.

  • Anyone else's mouse goes erratic, every few minutes during use? The cursor moves 2-3cm away from its spot instantly at random directions

  • mine kept disconnected on the BT, had to restart the mouse as it won't wake up, tried on another laptop, change to a full charged battery, also tried different channel still the same issue. Returned it back to Amazon as it's malfunction for me, hopefully it's just my bad luck.
