      My interpretation of that whole saga was that the OP was wrong for being such a pearl clutcher over losing $50, and doing a $0.01 transfer in the first place.

      I'm sure if you just held your nerve, looked into the void and tossed your $50 in as your first deposit, you'd likely be fine.

        Transfer of a small amount is a completely legitimate risk mitigation to setting up new transfers.
        Nothing to do with be a pearl clutcher, rather smart to ensure the funds will go through.

        Other things like never typing in the account details, always copy and paste help, but often the banks can take issue with receiver and block the transfer.

            @xyron: Everyone has their own risk appetite and value for money, that OP did nothing wrong and played it smart. I would absolutely do the same.

            There are dozens of comments in every Tiger deal of them refusing cashbacks.

            Also read the Terms, it clearly defined that the deposit is all deposits within the first 30 days.
            They have not even abided by their own terms and nowhere does it disallow the 1c "test the route" transfer.

        I guess I'm a pearl clutcher too. It's a completely rubbish rule when you can deposit "within 30 days", and means you have to read between the lines of every cashback rule (which can often be poorly written). I made the $50 deposit within minutes of my 1¢ deposit and was rejected.

      Same thing happened to me. Got told the reason today. Absolute joke and a waste of time.

      Not to mention, the rep's 90 day requirement doesn't match the 30 days published on Shopback.

  • Can't speak to this specific deal (which seems a little thin in the ground when it comes to rewards) but I did sign up during the last Click Frenzy and got the bonus $100 direct from Tiger Brokers when I deposited $50. Also wound up with $84 of TSLA so $184 all up. ShopBack wasn't involved however.

    • I did the same from that event, deposited $50 initially and got the $100 cashback without problem (no third party cashback company involved).

  • CR deal looks better - slightly higher cashback, US$50 in fractional shares with $500 deposit, roughly the same value in TSLA partial shares (compared to BHP) for a $1500 deposit and no mention of the 10 trades (although I assume that is likely to still be a condition somewhere).

        More than two months on, I am still waiting even to be given any reason (real or not) as to why my cashback has been denied. I am now looking at my options including a complaint to the ACCC.

    Alongside declining my cashback, Cashrewards also repeatedly removed the pending cashback from my account and stopped following up my ticket. They seemed to want me to just forget about it (without telling me why it was being removed).

    Cashrewards blamed Tiger Brokers and CR also refused to further escalate the ticket so as to evaluate the relationship with the vendor or negotiate terms or negotiate a single gesture of goodwill payment.

    Bad Tigers Brokers; bad Cash Rewards for doing business with them.

    I never tried Shopback. But what can you expect? I have no trust because in the past Shopback got hacked and all their customer details were leaked on the darkweb, then they instructed their reps on ozbargain to ignore all questions on the topic.

    Yeah I'm sorry but I'm siding with the community here, mine was rejected too; however it's currently in the process of 'Being reviewed' via ShopBack which I have been informed will take time… I don't have high hopes that it will be approved (Hoping for the best, expecting the worst)

    Upon sighting the 'Rejected' status of my cashback and reaching out to ShopBack support and being told that it was Tiger Brokers themselves that rejected the cashback and that it could take weeks to be 'Reviewed' by Tiger Brokers I decided to withdraw EVERYTHING from my Tiger Brokers account for fear that they're rejecting due to some financial issue @ Tiger Broker (eg. Going under)

    If the 'Review' results in an approved cashback via ShopBack then I will retract my down-vote and will comment to advise that everything was sorted.

    Tiger Brokers rep or ShopBack reps are welcome to reach out to me via DM to speak further regarding the above (if required).

    Shopback/Tigerbrokers cashback promo was rejected so a negative from me too for this company.

    After their client services email address bounces messages, I messaged them on live chat and they sent me an email reply.

    They linked me to terms and conditions to support their argument, but there was nothing in the terms and conditions which addressed their particular point.

    They then said "And I feel deeply sorry about this situation may lead to unsatisfactory and appreciate your understanding.".

    So… I did deposit >$50 and I was rejected.

    And they now even admit that they are not able to "work towards a satisfactory resolution".

    Like I said in my thread, imagine putting real money with these scammers. You email them and their clientservices email gives you an error message. You get told online that they can pursue a solution, then immediately told there is no satisfactory solution. They then link to irrelevant terms and conditions.

    Cashrewards needs to cease operating with this company.
