Or not, and get consistent internet?

not good for people looking to have low ping/latency

why on earth would anyone choose 5g if you can get FTTP

      • +3

The COVID vaccine nanobots run on 5G not FTTP, it is obviously superior.

Also why are there no FTTP conspiracies, I'll start one. The light flashing in the fiber optic cables is coded pulses that goes to your optic nerves and then puts suggestions into your brain. Why Labor wanted to roll it out to every house in Australia to brainwash us to communism. The Liberal party saved us from fast internet and the brainwashing by cancelling and screwing the rollout.

the fiber optic cables transmitting to our optic nerves low-key sounds like the skill learning in the tv show chuck

Simply not worth it, if you're starting out your NBN journey.
Tangerine either give no shits if you have technical problems (personal experience and many, many other's reported experiences) and/or are incapable of anything more than scripted support.
For the sake of $25, start off with a company that has capability to assist you should there be a problem.
Once up and running and you're happy to suck up any future technical issues, then sure, move to someone cheap and nasty like Tangerine.

    • I have several connections for my new builds with them zero issues.

      • +5

        Yeah, cool story.
Not sure how that relates to a time that you might have issues?

Not having any experience with Tangerine's support gives you the worst perspective to comment on Tangerine's level of support.

        • -1

No need to have support if you know what your doing on the consumer end :P

          • +4

@memez: You must be right then, cause there's never any problems with NBN's network or at the vendor's end. /s

  • Tangerine ar the worst service provider i have ever had. There like the menulog of service providers.
I signed up 2 months ago for my 95 yo grandma - the "Fiber to the Premises" upgrade at 250mbps at 70 something dollars deal (they said It would take 1 to three weeks.)

    They still havent connected her.

Every time its a different issue. And they refuse to follow up.
Before it was the NBN, now its a porting issue and the emails are apparently not going through to them. They dont follow up.
Tangerine actually tries to talk you into cancelling. And one time they did cancel on me without me or the account holders consent after i called up threatening to cancel on them for taking so long.
    They just dont care.

    • Sure they have their down falls like any rsp. I have never had an issue maybe i have been lucky
