    Reading online reviews the HP Omen series does seem decent in terms of "bang for buck" value. Almost got one when I was intiially looking at gaming laptops back in late 2020/early 2021. What scared me away from the Omen series was the amount of postings I read about various keys on the keyboard failing after a shortish period of time. Wouldn't be a huge deal if it was after 3-5+ years of use (by then you'd just about be in the market for a new laptop anyway ?)… but in 6 months - 2 years ? arghhhh. Granted I'd solve it by just plugging in a usb dongle and use a wireless keyboard (something I do regularly with my current laptop - in order to not use the keys on that keypad so frequently).

      Comments in the 4090 deal from OzB'ers who bought the laptop earlier in the year confirm the current Omen chassis - at least in the larger 17" models - can comfortably and continuously handle 250-300W

      With the heat being dissipated properly, the creeping heat related issues with keyboards and track pads have been fixed

      Is it better to get the older generation but 1 spec better or the newer generation but by spec lower.

        gpu user benchmark is the go to site. In this case the 4050 would be better, but you have to consider the whole package in these options.

        Im not 100% sure if ebay works like this but some order systems it reserves stock as people checkout but the payment fails or something then the stock gets added back. So they might not have added more stock.
