      • +2

Thank you ordered one this is nicer :)

    • Damn I need the 4090 one

      • Which one did you end up getting Java?

      • I managed to buy a 4090 but the 3080ti is the more reasonable option for me.
If you're interested in trading hmu

    • Both these deals are cheaper also

  • Jeeeeeeez

    heavy breathing
    The temptation is real

  • +2

Looks really nice for a gaming laptop. Not a fan of them generally with how bulky they can be

  • Is the ram soldered?

    • +1

      No, 2x SO-DIMM slots

    OOS

    • +1

The HP eBay rep added extra quantities to the 3060 deal so there is a chance they also find extra stock for the 4090 and this 3080 Ti

      • +2

        Guess I'm not sleeping tonight

Making financial decisions at 2:00am. What could go wrong?

    • 3 20 AM when you already have bought a legion 5 pro 👀

  • Damn. Missed the deal. Any chance it will come back?

    • +1

Near zero if I have to be honest with ya.

HP is clearing out stock for last gen. Mid life mobile 40 gen refresh will come in half a year.

      • %100 eat it, lol

    • Back in stock @ioneabargain

      • Thanks. missed it again. Was busying ferrying the kids to their classes. It is really crazy and too difficult to follow and refresh each second. so stressful

  • I'm just getting into gaming laptops after decades of using consoles. Any other similar calibre laptop recommendations?

  • no chance getting these kind of deals if they get published after midnight lol

  • The following question to the brains trust indicates my lack of up-to-date computer knowledge…
My son wants to get into 3d printing and scanning. Am I better to get a gaming PC with a better graphics card like this or will one of the recent Lenovo laptops listed on ozbargaim for sub $1300 suffice?

    • +2

      Get him a 3d printer

      • Sorry, I should have been clearer. I am just seeking information if the laptop specifications of either of the laptops are better suited to running a 3d printer and scanner. Thanks

        • +3

Just about anything will work for printing, but if you’re looking at designing your own models, a laptop with a dedicated GPU would be better.

If you don’t care about portability, then a PC would be better value in many cases.

          • @cnut: if you care about portability, get him a portable 3d printer.

  • Thank you alot bargain hunters. I really sad I missed out on this deal as this was exactly what I was looking for. Just wondering, is there a way to get a notification to immediately so I don't miss these deals again?

    • Yes 🙌

    • yay

      • Had been checking regularly, and had to take a break to look after my kids, haha missed again! :P Hopefully they trickle stock in again today.

  • +1

    Snaffed a 17!!!

  • -1

I bought the 16 and the 17 but will need to return one. Which one do you guys think is the better buy? I've got a gaming desktop already so leaning towards the 16 possibly… but a 3080ti, higher res and higher refresh rate screen sounds nice. I've heard ryzen temos are high as well in the 16.

    • +1

Nice work. I'm sitting here on the refresh and getting nothing…

  • can 3080ti on laptop handle ms flight sim? i have 3060 and not really good for gaming.

    • the 3060 should be handling it no problem mate, what res are you running at?

        1. the mobile 3060 is not great. struggles even on cod ghost released 10 yrs ago.
        • +1

Something's wrong with your settings there man, you should be getting 100fps @ 1080p on moderate settings easily.

        • From my google searching, the 3080ti seems to be about ~30% faster than the 3060 in fps - which going from. I guess that's why the 16" model only comes with a 1080p screen

  • +1

    it's back!!!

    • -2

      Wake up your dreaming

      • +1

I refreshed the page, and it had add to cart, last sold count was 41

  • It’s got a second gen 3 NVME slot to expand storage! Didn’t expect that.

    • +1

Received mine today. Very good quality build and great all round thus far. The 2nd NVME slot is Gen 4.

      • Can you test is laptop 17" display gsync capable?

        • I tried with the NVIDIA Pendulum demo - GSync can't be selected. So not compatible.

          • @quan: Bummer :( I've heard maybe updating drivers will help

      • how did you get it so quick?

        • Umm I ordered around 2AM on 18/8 and got notification around 11AM in the morning that HP has shipped the laptop with Star Track, then it was delivered yesterday lunchtime. Just very lucky I guess.

      • Oh nice if it’s true for mine as well! I was getting my information from the online tech replacement manual that specifies what parts to replace in it.

        Received mine today also.

        • Can you see if screen is gsync?

  • Can't wait but man that power brick is a tank lol. Shame the screen doesn't have gsync though

  • Hope these ship on Monday

  • +1

My order just shipped with startrack

  • I ordered on 18/8/23 at 2.10pm but my status still has not moved to shipped as yet. Is there anyone still waiting for their status to be changed to shipped? Thanks.

    • +1

I ordered at 2:09 pm, and am the same as you. Hopefully, we hear something soon.

  • just delivered woohoo!

  • +1

Hi guys so I noticed on the box, the label says the display has GSYNC. In Nvidia control panel if you change the graphics card from Automatic to NVIDIA GPU (when you are going to game), the display options change, and GSYNC options show up! Super happy - the 17" LCD Display has GSYNC

    • Hey do you know if the keyboard is the optical mechanical one with the clicky keys? Or just a regular membrane.

      • How to tell?

        • Hmm I guess if the keyboard feels different to a regular laptop keyboard, usually they are more 'squishy' but the mechanical ones will have a better travel feel and a click when you press it down. The documentation is not clear, on their website they mentioned mechanical keys, but the spec sheet doesn't.

          • +1

@IcedTiramisu: apparently its an "optical mechanical keyboard". Mechanical with optical switches? Hard for me to tell. But the spacebar has a satisfying click, the other keys not so much. I reckon it's mechanical but it does have a relatively short travel so maybe not? The keys do feel a bit mushy, not like my mechical k70 RGB I have next to it.

edit: If it is mechanical then I can't tell the difference between it and a standard mechanical keyboard, so maybe it's just the regular membrane keyboard

      • You would feel the fact you pressed the key down. It’s very little resistance compared to other mechanical keyboards however. On a rubber membrane keyboard it’ll feel mushy and be easier to hit keys you intended to just put your finger on.

        • My guess is it is mechanical but there is short travel and less resistance compared to a proper mechanical keyboard? but it does feel nice to type on

  • Anyone who ordered at 2pm Friday got a notification that It's shipped yet? Hoping this doesn't end up like the 16 deal where people had theirs canceled.

  • No notification as yet. I tried sending them a message on eBay at 10am this morning but no reply as yet either.

  • For anyone here keen on testing - let me know what your timespy 3dmark score is
    I get 13,049 GPU, 12,779 CPU = 13,007 score

  • +1

Still no status update. I have already sent 2 messages to HP eBay and still no response. Customer service at HP is definitely not great.

    • +1

Same here! Getting a bit more nervous that this might not ship at all.

      • +1

Really hope you guys get it. They cancelled the majority of the 16" orders

    • +2

"We regret to inform you that your order is delayed due to material constraints.Fret not, are continuously monitoring it to expedite it wherever possible. We appreciate you chose HP as you wait for your preferred item." - at least they havent said its cancelled yet …

      • +1

That's good to hear no cancel

      • At least you received a message. I still have not received any messages from HP yet despite contacting them several times!

      • Hp ebay just sent me this exact message this morning.

  • Just received the same email about the delay. Hope it does not take too long to "expedite" this!
