Lenovo 3rd Gen i7 Laptop, 2GB Graphics, 4GB RAM $899.00

12

Yes, it's COTD but the price seems right to me - there's no model number so I can't compare it but a 3rd Gen i7 & 2GB Graphics for $899 should be more. I'd add a couple more GB RAM but otherwise can't go wrong.

don't be fooled by 2gb graphics, its the 630m which matters here which is nothing too flash (old 540m??) I wouldn't get it for the low res screen but other specs are definitely good (not great). I'd say for the same price will be able to find a 640m if look around enough.

    • Yes, I instantly disregard any computer ad that describes the graphics card only by how much VRAM it has.

not a deal if you compare with last Dell Vostro 3560 sale last time.

    dimensions are variable ???

Think that it's accounting for the tapering of the body.

yet again: 1366x768. terrible res guys

    • +2

      what's so terrible about it?

Sure, it's not the best you can get, but it's still fine for most uses…

      • +1

On a 15.6" screen it'd look pretty bad IMO.

        • +1

On a 15.6" screen you'd be hard pressed to see the difference from anything up to 1920x1080 unless your nose is permanently pressed against the screen!

OTOH, if you're worried about loss of screen real estate then I'm not so sure the choice of a ~15" screen is right for you anyway! ;)

        • So you're just speculating? Why even comment if you have no personal experience…

    • yet again what? it's a standard resolution, there is nothing wrong with it, except for the people who keep recycling this bizarre theory that a standard resolution on most laptops of this size is "terrible"

  • The S430 might be better for some, although only dual core.

Not a fantastic price on what appears to be an E530. You'd be better off buying direct from Lenovo. We bought the same thing with 6gb of memory and a 9 cell battery for ~$780 a while back during one of the Lenovo specials. It would let you option up the higher resolution screen as well.

Also, these are $849 at MSY.

    1: COTD.
2: Cheaper/better value to spec your own direct from Lenovo as pointed out above (even cheaper if you use one of their many coupons floating around).

  • Windows 7 Pro but only 4gb…….. Hmmmmmmm

  • don't buy Lenovo. It breaks in the 13th month.
