Seems interesting and for $10 it seems cheap enough to play around with on the weekend.
Surprisingly at this price point there’s even an app to follow it around.
Gave it a punt

Just have the time to play with this and so far I got it working without subscription.

    Quick steps.

    1. Replace the sim with your own.
    2. Factory reset the device: FACTORY#
    3. Unlock the device: LOCKIP,WWDSS20,UNLOCK#
    4. Go to https://ruhavik.gurtam.space/ and create a new account.
    5. Add the device, select "WanWay S20" as the device type and the IMEI number on the "ID".
    6. Set the server (put your own config): SERVER,0,193.193.165.166,22060,0#
    7. Track on Ruhavik site & apps.
    • hi mate,
where would i get the server info to set the server in step 6?

Thanks heaps for the details though. much appreciated.

      • +1

The server info should likely be the same. It's on the next step after you add the device IMEI.

        • Thanks mate. The best solution so far for this tracker. I have put in Amaya $10 simcard in it and followed your instructions. Cheapest car tracking solution and yes the server details were same as stated in step 6.

    • Thanks so much for this, worked a treat. Does this work only with Data? can I somehow disable it so I can use the SMS commands only?

      • If you're wanting to use SMS only and not data, I would configure an invalid APN so it cant actually negoaite the data connection.

Then you could use the WHERE# or URL# commands via SMS to get the location

        • Thanks for that. So I could just use Step 6 config for when I don't want it to Use data.
          -SERVER,0,0.0.0,22060,0#

And change it back to this when I need it?
          SERVER,0,193.193.165.166,22060,0

          • @cheapass88: That's just for the endpoint for the server, that would still be trying to access a server of 0.0.0.0 and consume data.

I would leave the server details correct and change the APN details to something that is invalid
            Something like this
            APN,FAKEAPNDETAILS#

            • @SingMeASong: Oh right, i wasn't aware of this command, I have no experience with these devices. what APN would I need to set it to for automatic? I didn't have to set an APN from the start.. I would prefer this as I plan on using it overseas as well and possible will change Sims, etc.

Cheers for your help. Is there a full list of commands somewhere?

              • @cheapass88: internet-stranger has setup a github here which has most of the info you will need
                https://github.com/bohdan-s/WanWay-Tech-S20

To set a auto APN, use this
                ASETAPN,ON#

This is the full set of commands i run when i set these up. Im now running 10~ of them for our fleet of work vans.

                LOCKAPN,WWDSS20,UNLOCK#
                LOCKIP,WWDSS20,UNLOCK#
                SERVER,1,traccardomain,5023,0#
                GMT,e,10,0#
                SOS,A,61PHONENUMBER#
                ASETAPN,ON#
                BATALM,ON,1#
                RMV,ON,1#

  • Is there any way to monitor the battery percentage remaining on device?

    Thanks

    • +1

      Send SMS, STATUS#
      Will give battery voltage.
      More here: https://github.com/bohdan-s/WanWay-Tech-S20

      • Hi
I have tried that but it shows battery in Volts
        But confusing though

        Only battery supply.Battery:3.68V;GPRS:Link Up;NW Signal Level:middle;PPP_STATE:1;GPS:OFF;Defense:OFF;PWRMD:0;

If you connect the device to a Traccar instance it will show a %.

Or you could work min voltage before it shuts down and Max voltage when charged and it will give you a rough idea.
