6 months for that price would make more sense, given the recent deals from Amaysim, this is more value for money

    • Yeah it’s not a top deal, just for those who might be in the market for whatever reason. Felix is postpaid I believe, whatever that might entail.

    • – Unlimited talk & text in Aus & to 42 countries is something better value if you going to use that compare to felix

  • Can any of the starter packs be activated as a payg 365 days plan?

    • I think you do something like activate then change to $10 payg at the end of it. Better getting the cheaper sims for that purpose.

    • I think you can. I bought a $30 in the past and activated for pay as you go.

      • Cool, currently tossing up between the 50 dollar 5gb roaming pack that Amay has, vs the various travel sims. If I can get a half price 50 dollar pack or similar, then will probably go the Amay route.

  • This pack is already at that discount price, I saw it with the deal tag at local woolies last Thursday.

  • Any 365 days that is of good value now? My Kogan mobile is due for renewal soon.

    • Not atm, get the boost sim for the next month and see what pops up.

  • I'm still waiting for that 1 year expiry for $99

  • I got an email for Catch Mobile 120GB for $109 or 60GB for $89. Is that good enough? Also, how long after the credit expires will the number be active? I mean Data is not much needed to be honest, it is for my mum who has a very good broadband service at home.

    • $60 for a year is probably the floor for the price of these deals, and they are unlikely to pop up outside of yearly sales. $89 is decent if you can’t wait. Your number is generally active for 6 months to a year after credit expires, during which time you are able to receive calls and texts (useful for two-factor authentication). If you just want to park a number that way, look up the amaysim $10 PAYG deal, or get an Aldi $5 sim.

      • Aldi 5 is only 2 month these days. Amay 10 is still a year.

        • Woot! Thanks for this, had no idea.

          • @frugalftw: Thanks @frugalftw and @annarchon.

Might have to bite the bullet for the $89 for a year. Thanks.

@frugalftw: Yeah, found out the hard way :(

  • FYI, this pack CANNOT be activated as As You Go with $99 credit. The option does not come up.

I activated the $35 pack on mum's mobile as AYG no problem but this $99 pack did not give the AYG option when activating.

We were hoping to use $99 of AYG credit to buy international roaming packs on Dad's phone. But now we've essentially signed up to a pricey 90 day plan and still need to spend $50 buying his roaming credit.
