There's a newer faster model now available. Presumably this is selling off stock of the older slower one.

  • Is this good for the switch?

    • This might be good if you’re looking for 1TB card, but unfortunately you’ll need to buy 2

      TEAMGROUP A2 Pro Plus Card 1TB x 2 Pack Micro SDXC UHS-I U3 A2 V30, R/W up to 160/110 MB/s for Nintendo-Switch, Steam Deck, Gaming Devices, Tablets, Smartphones with Adapter TPPMSDX1TIA2V3064 https://amzn.asia/d/5oTkYXm

    • Yes this is perfect for Switch as it can’t take advantage of anything faster than UHS-1 speeds (which this card is).

    • Works perfectly fine in my V1 Switch. Have something like 700gb of games installed, zero issues with the SD card. Suggest testing with a PC when you receive it to check stock didn't get mixed up with a non-genuine one (as a precaution).

      • exfat or fat32?

        • +1

I'm using in fat32, but I homebrew so the 4GB file size limit doesn't impact me with the common methods I manage installs. For standard Switch usage, it should just be plug and play as the Switch will prompt to reformat it when first used.

          • @JBxrm: awoo installer got my back 😏

  • While there are newer and faster cards, it's important to remember that if you're using this outside of Cameras or devices that aren't bottlenecked it won't matter as youre limited to UHS-1

This will perform about the same as any other card in a Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, Pi, Phones, etc

    • Not quite true, the Ultra operates well below the Samsung EVO in write speeds within the UHS-I speed limit. There is no 1TB EVO though so if you are prioritising capacity the Ultra is still the way to go, but the 512GB EVO will be faster in certain scenarios.

The Ultra writes at like 50-60 MB/s with a guaranteed min sustained sequential write of 10 MB/s vs the EVO which goes at 70-90 MB/s with a minimum sustained sequential write of 30 MB/s. Ultra is also A1 vs the EVO A2 rating.

  • This is not the Sandusky Extreme that you should be using for 4K / UHD videos
