$319.95 without discounts at sennheiser, lowest on camelcamelcamel $249.95

  • +1

Brilliant price for those that have access.

  • Any other discounts of note?

    • +2

      HD800s $1440

      • +2

        how?

      • I'm also keen to grab these. Appreciate if you can explain the procedure to get the discounted HD800s?

Edit: The HD800s price is $1784 on the Unidays sale page. Applying WELCOME10 on top takes them to $1605 but still short of the eBay deal that expired recently ($1489 or so).

  • Crazy price - snagged one. Ended up also buying a pair from a previous deal at ~250 so looks like i'll be returning those when they arrive

    • Dumb question but - what's the trick to return them and get a full refund? Surely they won't accept 'I just bought the same item on a better sale' as a valid reason for return?

  • How is this compared to Bose QC45?

    • This is open back and wired and no anc, but much much better audio quality

    • +3

      100% different.

    • +3

Apples and oranges tbh. Depends on how you plan to use them.

  • Does this need a DAC?

    • +4

Not really, if your pc has a lot of noise the apple $15 usb c to 3.5mm dongle is fine

    • Nope

    • +3

The question is "does this need an amp" not a DAC. Because all digital sources to headphones involve a DAC somewhere, probably in your phone or PC.

      And the answer is no.

  • Anyone else can't find the discount code entry box?

    • +1

Use something like Honey, it applied the coupon for me

      • Cheers

      • +3

Yeah think they might have stopped the coupons, won't apply

        • I had to go to honey apply the coupon through there and try again

          • +2

@Ratch: Yeah i had to enter the 'WELCOME10' code in the honey coupon submitter for it to work lmao

            • @[Deactivated]: Doing this only brought it down to $188.10, was your price $209 before applying code or something lower?

              • +1

@ILikeBigMen: I was looking at the IE300s instead but i've just tried the 560s and I got the same price as you (188.10)

            • @[Deactivated]: Sorry, could you explain exactly how to apply the code? I installed the add-on, but even after submitting the code, it does nothing.

  • showing $209 ..expired ?

    • Looks like price is back up.

      • -2

Well I did not find anywhere to enter coupon so I did not place order when price was lower

        • +2

Why would you not just grab it at ~159 or whatever it was without the honey code? That's still an absurdly low price.

  • damn bought the 599 yesterday, which one is better?

    • +5

      The 560S.

    • +2

An opinion I saw is that these are more accurate but the 599 more fun. More clarity with these vs a warmer sound on the 599 though people said that they couldn't use the 560s for more than an hour or two due to comfort whereas the 599 are easy to wear for long periods. I have the 599 and thoroughly enjoy them though I am fairly new to this.

  • +2

Adding custom code WELCOME10 to Honey brings it down to $188.10 but can't seem to get $143.10 price.

    • +1

      I'm having the same trouble

    • They might have raised the price on the original offer, seems a few people are having that issue. Even so, these have not gone sub-200 in several years from my knowledge.

      • +2

They've never been below $200. OzB history, Camels and my own memory have been checked 😁

        • Damn. I know they haven't went anything below 250 in the couple of years i've been actively keeping an eye out, so maybe I was thinking of something else that went sub-200 prior.

Those people that decided not to purchase due to the honey code not working on the original price are probably kicking themselves now!

          • @NedStark102: I just created a unidays account successfully, half an hour ago, but account is restricted while waiting for the verification email 🤦‍♂️ ha ha oh well

  • +6

$188 is still a great price but having to pay $45 more for being a few minutes late sucks.

  • +1

Insane price even at $180, especially considering these are easy to drive unlike the (fairly) comparable HD 6xx

    • what do you mean by to drive?

      • +3

implying use direct from players/phones/laptops without the need for further additional tools such as Amps (amplifiers) thus "easy to drive"

  • Have been using these for about a year. Absolutely love them! I tried a few grados, the hd58x and these. Settled with these by a long way and I’m now done looking for anything better.

  • +2

I can't seem to get it.
Welcome10 brings it down to $287
    Did I miss out?

    • Yep getting same

    • +2

Try logging into UniDays, heading to the Sennheiser offers page, scroll to find the HD560S and click buy. That will transfer you to Senn official store, adds to the cart @ $209 and then use Honey to bring it down to $188.

      • +1

        I'm not a student, rip.

      • +4

I think the confusion comes from OP adding this note to the post:

Edited deal since they jacked the price from 144 -> 188, but now open for all not just unidays

But it's actually not for everyone.

        • Yep, thought so - cheers for clearing that up.

  • I have a pair of Momentum 4s. Would these sound better or difference negligible?

  • Good price. This is a solid set.

  • I'm sure all the students are going to study the heck out of these…

  • +3

WELCOME10 discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart

    • +1

Only applicable for students pretty sure as noted above. Probs need a mod to update the OP.

      • +2

now open for all not just unidays

  • +2

I wanted to buy one, but I think I missed out. Not showing up anymore on Unidays, the price went up to 260, and I tried but failed to get the honey thing to work. :(

    • Ended up biting the bullet and getting it for 259 with the Unidays discount, it's back to 320 now. After a lot of research, it is apparently still worth that price in comparison with others and according to crinacle's (and many others) list of headphones.

  • Great headphones. My current daily for everything, gaming, music and movies. Super easy to drive.
Moved from the dt 1990s to these. They may not be technically better but I enjoy listening to them more.

    • I'm considering an upgrade to my ancient DT 990 Pros. Was thinking either DT 1990s or a sidestep to Sennheiser HD800S. How did you find the differences between your DT 1990s and other phones you've tried?

      • +1

        Hey mate,

Hard to put into words and I'm defiantly no audiophile.

        560s vs 1990

Treble - When I A/B the 1990's and the 560s I found that the 560s had more sparkle to the higher end, more of that airy sound, which I found I really enjoyed. When switching back to the 1990s I felt for me they were missing that sparkle for me.

Bass - There wasn't a lot of Bass in terms of quantity/boost with the 560s, but there was a good amount of Bass extension. But they felt true to the recording/source. The 1990s had more bass presence. .

Theyre both great headphones, DT1990 would prob be more fun & im sure more technical. The 560s was good enough for me to enjoy and sell the 1990s for a profit. They are more neutral. Altho with a bit of EQ you could push that bass presence up a bit. I also purchased some hybrid pads for the 560s and made up brackets. So when i want a warmer headset I switch to those for a week or two.

The 560s is also lighter on the head if that makes any difference to you.

I went on a stint and purchased headphones off Facebook market place, listed to them for a few weeks, sold them and moved to something else. Actually made some money with some headsets. Was a great way to listen to a variety without losing money.

List of headphones ive tried, in order of preference (factoring in pricing).
        560s - DT1990 - R70x - 300MMX - DT1770 - PC38x - DT990 PRO - HD58x - PC37x - HD599

        • +1

Interesting that you put the HD599 last. They seem to be like Vegemite, you either love them or hate them. I'm not a fan either and have been trying to EQ my set to a point where I like the sound of them, but have so far failed. I hate the exaggerated mid bass and sucked out mids.
Absolutely love the HD660S though, but you need a decent amp for them to really shine. The problem is they expose every flaw in the music production, so I bought the HD599 on a sale to listen to poorly produced music without hating the experience.

          • @Blew: Yeah I wasn't a fan. So flat and bloated. I love bass, but I need clarity.

My mate has the 598s and loves them.

Plenty of great headphones out there. 660s, 6xx, Sundara's. My list was just the ones that I had tried.
I forgot, also had the Hifiman 4xx's as well. The energy of them ended up being too much for me. Good headphones but found them a little fatiguing.

I had been using a schiit stack. Loki, magni, vali. So plenty of power and clean signal for the testing.

        • Appreciate the detailed response! Ended up ordering the HD 800 S yesterday. Hoping to have a similar experience to you (based on your summary at the bottom) where the DT 990s are OK, DT 1990s would be substantially better, and the HD 800 S will also be substantially better but also with a more pleasant tuning.

For anyone still shopping out there, the UNiDAYS sale is still on and the 10% coupon codes still work on Sennheiser's website if you apply them via Honey (there's no spot to manually enter discount codes on the site).

          • +1

@Azza69: Nice one mate, skipping right to the top with the 800s! They should be an amazing set of cans! I'm sure youll love them.

Would love to have a listen to them one day but honestly that's more than I'm will to spend on this hobby. So best I stay clear lol

  • Despite now being expired, it was still in my basket at the $209 price with the WELCOME10 coupon applied for $188. Check your carts.

  • Damn, this makes me feel sick, I paid like $250 for mine during a deal drought. I really need to unsubscribe from the HD560s category.

    • its okay I paid $298, cant change the past unfortunately.

  • Just got shipping notification booyah thanks OP

  • Coupon expire too quick :/

  • +1

Received mine yesterday. Spent a day with them and they are great. A nice step up from the HD 599 and even the 58X. I'm no audiophile or expert but they feel more balanced overall, no matter what I throw at them. My motherboard drives them with ease too and they don't feel like they need any EQ. The clamp is very strong, but I didn't really feel any headphone fatigue after using them for 2 hours straight. My only complaint would be that mine had a manufacturing defect/mark on the headband which ruins the look of them a bit, but that can't be helped. $300 for these is a good price considering their sound quality, so I'm very happy despite paying $188. Anyone who got these at $143 got the headphone bargain to end all bargains. Nothing comes close at $150~ except the HD 599 and they only have better comfort.

  • Price are now up to $259 with student discount D:
