  • Thanks again, rep. Now to sit patiently waiting for a good deal on Polk ceilings. :)

  • Thanks OP. Is it compatible with Edifier speakers with 3.5mm sub out?

    • -4

of course, if you know how

    • +1

Yep you just need the correct cable - 3.5mm to RCA.

      https://support.edifier-online.com/hc/en-us/articles/4649333…

      • Not that I'd pair this subwoofer with anything less than edifier's s2000s or the like.

An $800 sub combined with $100 edifier discount speakers makes no sense at all

      • My Edifiers have sub out. Which is just an RCA. Do I just need an RCA splitter for these?

My current Yamaha has a single RCA sub input. These have stereo red and white.

        • +2

You can use a single RCA connected to the input labelled LFE on this sub.

  • Been looking for a 8-10" sub to pair with my ADAM F7 monitors. I've been considering ADAM T10S or possibly Presonus Temblor T10 (likely the former), how would this Polk sub compare?

I generally steer away from "hi-fi" due to colouration and go more towards studio gear since it sounds flatter and cleaner. However given it's a sub I guess it may not matter as much, my only concern would be swampy bass, over-extension, low control.

    • You posted on the wrong deal.

      • How so? I am asking how this sub would compare to some other options I am considering.

        • Get the Adam audio sub, it's an easy decision and there's no comparison.

  • Been looking for a sub to go with my audioengine A5's, thoughts on this as a suitable option?

  • -1

30Hz hurts… That's a bit high, so for music this might be OK, but for movies it's generally recommended that you get something that can reach around 20Hz.

    • Interesting - the eBay ad states 23-160hz and the Polk website spec sheet states 30-125hz…

    • Ah yes, the mythical 20Hz. Which only the largest subs can actually reach - an SVS 2000 Pro for example is well has well an truly rolled off by then.

  • This or Yamaha sw300?
