Found out the issue - my carpet has a couple panels of black in it which triggers the cliff sensor. Indeed it was an invisible wall after all.
Had to stick some white paper over the sensor to trick the sensor, works fine now.

In the system setting you can drag the volume bar all the way to the left
This thing is so much better than my Roomba i7 in every aspect. I’m going to throw that thing in the bin.
Just curious, what do you like about this which doesn't exist in Roomba?
i remember my sister had the roomba robo vac ~2018, it didn't vacuum in a uniform pattern like the xiaomi and also the brush was too powerful that it would knock crumbs away from the vacuum, not sure how they are nowadays tho.
ah yep, the technology back then was so terrible that the robot didn't even go back to its charging dock. This unit especially at this price has been absolutely superb
For some reason mine leaves a gap around my coffee table. It's like there's an invisible wall there. You can even see the big gap on the map where it shows you the trail it has vacuumed. Really weird.
