  • Black Desert has the best combat I’ve played in an mmo. So much fun.

How do you get around all the junk the game has though? I keep coming back to it after grabbing it for like $5 a few years ago, but the systems, UI and general feel is so convoluted with so much crap all over the menus and screens. Plus the console controls are just a mess. I really want to enjoy as combat seems fun (and boobies) but it's like I'm fighting against it.

        You had me at boobies

    • They got aus servers yet?

  • How long can you play Black Desert for?

    • +1

It’s buy to play and no sub, so you can play for as long as you have a PS Sub.

  • I thought it was usually ~10am Wednesday for any store updates to take effect. Have they changed it?

    • Nah. About 10pm Tuesday.

A week too late on the post my friend

This post is about the two other games that weren't revealed yet. That post you linked was exclusively about Saints Row.

    • +1

If you clicked the link provided in the bio you would have seen it only showed Saints Row.

      • -2

If you read through the post you would see folks discussing all three availed games + links to the games

        • +4

Yes but those games are not in the title, hence not considered a duplicate deal.

In any case, even if it was a duplicate deal, that is not a valid reason to neg a deal (referring to OP not you).

I've played 10 hours of Generation Zero, interesting concept.

The atmosphere of the game is fantastic, makes you absolutely terrified of getting the attention of big bad robots, and very satisfying when you do take one down.

It's been a while since I played, so I can't remember exactly what it was, but something about saving your progress was weird. A few times either my position or inventory was not saved properly. They might have fixed it, but something to keep in mind.

I've only just made it to where I can choose from a couple different missions, but so far

    SPOILERS

    ||The story has felt very same-y. You follow clues to find a group of survivors, but shock horror they have all been killed by robots. Rinse and repeat a half dozen times as you follow the notes of a small group joining up with bigger ones and eventually the local government||

Apparently the game also gets very grindy later on, having to kill tough enemies multiple times to get better weapons

Playing this coop is so much fun. Loved exploring, and like you said the atmosphere was so good.

I platinumed the game a few years back and aside from one trophy (RNG be damned!) I had a great time.

You're correct the story never really goes any further than what you've outlined, although apparently there's DLC that expands it to include NPC's now, it's still fun and enjoyable.

I had no grindy issues myself but the game does somewhat punish you if you go too far off the track early on where you'll find yourself getting steamrolled.
It's super entertaining with co-op though and I'd suggest that if you dive in to it.

Ah, good to see they're using the increased PS+ fees to secure high quality premium monthly games

    /s

    • Seriously, yeah wtf Sony.
You were meant to beat Microsoft, not join them.

      rant:
Ever since the initial PS3/PSN subscription, it offered notably more value for money. There was a crossover period during the PS4 Pro, where the value offered diminished and Microsoft released xCloud, at this point they were largely on-par. Now the PS5 Subscription is worse value. The games are worse quality and less frequent, their prices are higher, and the benefits are worse.

Perhaps we will see the Xbox become more competitive interms of good games and exclusives. Given the history from Microsoft I doubt it. I also doubt the Gaming PC would be competitive with the release of unoptimised games in the last 5-Years and the increased price of hardware (dGPUs and motherboards). There's almost a zero chance that Nintendo will enter the market again and try to compete, they haven't done so since the GameCube. For the next 5-Years the PS5 is going to be a great console, but the consumers are going to have to pay.

    • Yeah.. of all the months they really needed to hit it out of the park, you'd think it would be this month when they jacked up the subscription price by so much. But nah.

Pretty interested to see their next State of Play presentation… they're taking the p*ss if they think they can crank up the price by that much in one hit without offering anything more and/or better to compensate.

Instead of being upset about this you should actually be upset about supporting and defending a satanic/anticompetitive/monopolistic/tax evasion corp. Evil Billy gates of hell is so proud of you kiddy boy!

I’m subscribed to August 2025. The price rise won’t affect me until then, right?

  • come one sony give us some PSVR 2 games for free!!

  • Is there any discounted Playstation gift cards I could get to make the subscription cheaper?

    • Not specifically but you can go through a series of conversions. If you value Woolworths Rewards points, you can get 20x points on TCN Him from tomorrow. TCN Him > JB Hi-Fi > PlayStation Network.

Edit: Otherwise 4% or higher discount/cashback on EB Games gift cards which can be used online to purchase PSN gift cards. I've personally done this a few times. Also rewards you with EB Games carrots.
