can you price match at officeworks?

    • -2

If you can pickup or get this deal delivered cheaper elsewhere then take a printout of the competitors deal to OW and they will price match less 5%.

      • -1

If there's two competitors that price match and beat by 5%, can you price match the price match and then chain price match each other?

        • Wouldn't be an advertised price, most price match policies state it has to be an advertised price.

Newox - What? Walk into officeworks, go upto the counter and say, 'Excuse me but you guys have a 1TB WD HDD on sale at $98. Can you pricematch that?". Then come home and let me know what the reply was please. It should be entertaining. (Sorry Newox - Couldn't help myself but the item already is at Officeworks!)

      Unity1 - Good post thanks.

reverse psychology? ask for something, get opposite?

  • How thick is this thing? it doesnt look as compact as some of the other drives like the Toshiba Canvio Basic 1TB. any one know that dimensions?

    • My GF has one and going from memory it's probably around 2cm thick.

    • +1

      dimensions (just measured): (LxWxH) 11.3cm x 7.8cm x 1.9cm
Its about the height of two laptop drives.

This has been $99 for a few days now. I think they dropped their price after JBHIFI started selling it at $99.
I picked up two yesterday - they are good drives. Very snappy. Am getting about 70MB/s.

It's been $99 for a while now at jb. Saving of $1 is still a saving, but really if I wasn't tempted to buy at $99 I won't be tempted to buy at $98. Good quick pickup by OP thou, thanks.

      $1 is better than $4.95.

      For Officeworks. ;)

Wow held off on the 3tb Buffalo deal thinking there'd be more, I was wrong…need a 3tb Usb3 drive soon

    • -1

      noob, that was 3.5" drive

    • Yeah I'm waiting on a 3tb usb3 3.5" deal also. $167ish is best price right now.

    • Same here, also waiting on a deal for a 3tb Usb3 drive. If you find anything, please share :)

  • hopefully JB see it and lower their price to 95

  • Shipping $25.95 to regional SE Qld

  • Anyone knows if this fits in a PS3?

    • +1

No. The HDD's ports are not SATA. Someone dismantled it and found the USB ports on the HDD itself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suo9_8GweAY

      • Most interesting.

I wonder if Seagate won't do the same instead of making cases that get destroyed when opened.

      • He must be an oz bargainer, he used an everyday rewards card and a flybuys card to open that drive lol

  • Does this need AC supply ?

  • -3

    Cheapest HD in th world!

  • yeah i bought one of these a few weeks ago now from jb hifi for $99, maybe even 3 weeks ago. works reasonably well from early testing, and its smaller than a seagate one i have had for a year or so which is 880GB and cost more at the time, of course!

      No that's a desktop 3.5" drive, the one above is a 2.5" portable…

  • "Delivers maximum performance for data transfers as high as 5GB per second for USB 3.0 and 480 megabytes per second for USB 2.0"

Wow! I don't think the JB Hifi model can go up to these speeds! :-)

    • Desktop not portable like this one.

  • Amazon WD 2tb my passbook for $152.99 delivered. Which one seems to be a better deal?

    • Amazon, probably. 100% more storage for around 50% more price. Warranty issues may deter you though.

  • FYI just tested my drive and got 108mb/s read/write speeds under Windows from my SSD. Veli noice.
